Troy Andrews (born January 2, 1986), also known by the stage name Trombone Shorty, is an American musician, producer, actor and philanthropist from New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. A multi-instrumentalist, he is best known as a trombone and trumpet player but also performs and records on the drums, organ and tuba. A highly sought after musician for his unique style and approach, he has worked with some of the biggest names in rock, pop, jazz, funk, hip hop and EDM. Andrews is the younger brother of trumpeter and bandleader James Andrews as well as the grandson of singer and songwriter Jessie Hill. Andrews began playing trombone at age four, and since 2009 has toured with his own band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.
Andrews was born in New Orleans. He grew up in its Tremé neighborhood, and participated in brass band parades as a child, becoming a bandleader by the age of six.
In his teens, Andrews was a member of the Stooges Brass Band, recording and playing with the band. He attended the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA).
Kevin Roosevelt Moore (born October 3, 1951), known as Keb' Mo', is a three-time American Grammy Award-winning blues musician. He is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter, currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. He has been described as "a living link to the seminal Delta blues that travelled up the Mississippi River and across the expanse of America". His post-modern blues style is influenced by many eras and genres, including folk, rock, jazz and pop. The moniker "Keb Mo" was coined by his original drummer, Quentin Dennard, and picked up by his record label as a "street talk" abbreviation of his given name.
From early on, his parents (from Louisiana and Texas) instilled him with a great appreciation for the blues and gospel music. By adolescence, he was already an accomplished guitarist.
Keb' Mo' started his musical career playing the steel drums and upright bass in a calypso band. He moved on to play in a variety of blues and backup bands throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He first started recording in the early 1970s with Jefferson Airplane violinist Papa John Creach through an R&B group. Creach hired him when Moore was just twenty-one years old; Moore appeared on four of Creach's albums: Filthy!, Playing My Fiddle for You, I'm the Fiddle Man and Rock Father. Keb Mo's first gold record was received for a song, "Git Fiddler", which he co-wrote with Papa John on Jefferson Starship's Red Octopus.Red Octopus hit number one on the Billboard 200 in 1975.
Cha-Cha, Cha Cha, ChaCha or Chacha may refer to:
James Vernon Taylor (born March 12, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. A five-time Grammy Award winner, Taylor was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He is one of the best-selling artists of all time, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
Taylor achieved his breakthrough in 1970 with the No. 3 single "Fire and Rain" and had his first No. 1 hit the following year with "You've Got a Friend", a recording of Carole King's classic song. His 1976 Greatest Hits album was certified Diamond and has sold 12 million US copies. Following his 1977 album, JT, he has retained a large audience over the decades. Every album he released from 1977 to 2006 sold over a million copies. His chart performance had a resurgence during the late 1990s and 2000s, when he recorded some of his most-awarded work (including Hourglass, October Road and Covers). He achieved his first number one album in the US in 2015 with his recording Before This World.

This is a live interview of me which was conducted at 2 AM on March 12, 1979 with D.J. Vin Scelsa at WNEW. FM in NYC. I remember this so very well. My boyfriend at the time was home, listening, and pacing the floor. It was a very big deal. WNEW is the station we listened to as kids, where we had dreamed of one day hearing our records play. WNEW broke a 5 year policy and played my demo tape on the air before I was even signed. They even ran the ads for the upcoming shows at The Other End (today the Bitter End) that featured the rich, booming voice of legendary African-American actor Adolph Caesar ("A Soldier's Story", "The Color Purple"). This pretty much was an honor. College radio stations followed suit, and started to play the demo tape as well. In attendance with me that evening/morning...
