Thomas Michael "Tom" Wright (born 22 June 1983) is an award-winning Australian producer, actor, writer, director, and theatre designer. He is the co-founder and director of The Black Lung Theatre and Whaling Firm.
Wright was born in Melbourne, the eldest of three children.
Wright featured as Johnno Mitcham in Jane Campion's series Top of the Lake (2013), for which he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2013 US Critics Choice Awards. He appears as Steven Linder in the US adaptation of Danish series The Bridge. In 2015, he appeared in the Universal / Working Title feature Everest, a film based on the 1996 tragedy. He played murdered journalist Brian Peters in Balibo (2009) and Thomas Bodenham in Van Diemen's Land (2009).
He has a strong theatre background, and has directed and designed productions for the Adelaide Festival, Belvoir St. Theatre, Malthouse Theatre, Queensland Theatre Co. and Brisbane Festival, among others. He has played lead roles for the Malthouse Theatre, Melbourne Theatre Company, and the Sydney Theatre Company production of Baal, directed by Simon Stone.

Tom Wright is one of today's top New Testament scholars. Born in 1948, he studied for the ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, and was ordained as Junior Research Fellow and Junior Chaplain at Merton College, Oxford. From 1978 to 1981 he was Fellow and Chaplain at Downing College, Cambridge, and then moved to Montreal as Assistant Professor of New Testament Studies at McGill University. He returned in 1986 to Oxford as University Lecturer in New Testament, and Fellow and Chaplain of Worcester College, Oxford. He became Dean of Lichfield in 1994, and Canon Theologian of Westminster Abbey in 2000. Tom has written over thirty books, both at the scholarly level and for a popular audience. A good friend of Regent Professor Emeritus Gordon Fee, he has been a past teacher at the College.
