Dalyellup Park Rangers faced off with Hay Park on Sunday with the ladies and masters team both having a bye.

The Division one sides kicked off the day’s games but found themselves down 2-0 early with Hay Park getting off to a great start. Dalyellup refused to lie down and continued to fight throughout the game however didn’t have enough to get the result. The final score was 4 – 2 to Hay Park in a very competitive game.

Dalyellup’s PJ Thomas was awarded man of the match for the Rangers after a fine display.

The Reserves side continued the action and Hay Park managed to get the better of the sides again. Hay Park have always had a very strong reserve side and will definitely be fighting for the title this season. The final score was 3-0.

Neurimar De Sousa Fra was the Rangers man of the match after his first 90 minutes back on the park after a hamstring injury.

Finally the league sides went head-to-head. Hay Park have struggled for form recently but did manage to get the better of the two sides when they met at the start of the season.

Hay Park showed early they were up for the challenge scoring the first two goals of the match through penalties. Dalyellup converted a penalty of their own to bring the score to 2-1.

The first half continued in a similar fashion as Hay Park scored another to make it 3 -1 before Dalyellup hit back again making it 3-2 at the break.

The second half did not offer as much in terms of chances as Hay Park looked to hold on to their lead. Dalyellup managed to create a couple of chances but saw Terry Mukuka’s effort rebound off the post.

Dalyellup kept pressing for the equaliser and found it through an unlikely source as 17-year-old debutant Mitch Iverson saw his strike find the bottom left corner from the edge of the box. The final score was 3-3.
