Peter Brian Walker (born April 8, 1969) is a former right-handed relief pitcher in Major League Baseball. He is currently the pitching coach for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Walker is a graduate of East Lyme High School in East Lyme, Connecticut. He completed his college degree at Charter Oak State College. He played college baseball at Connecticut and earned All-Tournament honors in the Huskies 1990 Big East Conference Baseball Tournament championship. Walker was drafted by the New York Mets in 1990 and made his MLB debut for them in 1995.
On March 17 1996, Walker was traded along with minor leaguer Scott Adair to the San Diego Padres for Roberto Petagine and minor leaguer Luis Arroyo. Walker would then go on to play only one game for the Padres before going to the minors. In 1997, Walker signed with the Boston Red Sox, but never played for them at the major league level.
In 2000, Walker made his way back to the major league level with the Colorado Rockies after signing with them in 1998. In December 2000, Walker once again signed with the New York Mets playing 3 games for them before returning to the minors. On May 3, 2002, he was picked off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays, with whom he would go on to play 124 games between 2002 and 2006.
Pete Walker (born 1939 in Brighton, Sussex) is an English film director, writer and producer, specialising in horror and sexploitation films, frequently combining the two.
His films include Die Screaming, Marianne, The Flesh and Blood Show, House of Whipcord, Frightmare, House of Mortal Sin, Schizo, The Comeback, and House of the Long Shadows.
His films often featured sadistic authority figures, such as priests or judges, punishing anyone - usually young women - who doesn't conform to their strict personal moral codes, but he has denied there being any political subtext to his films. Because of the speed with which he had to make his films, Walker often used the same reliable actors, including Andrew Sachs and Sheila Keith, the latter playing memorable villainesses in four of Walker's pictures.
Malcolm McLaren hired Walker to direct a documentary on The Sex Pistols entitled A Star Is Dead. Walker was an unlikely choice of director for this project and the deal fell through when the band split up.
Complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), also known as developmental trauma disorder (DTD) or complex trauma, is a proposed diagnostic term for a set of symptoms resulting from prolonged stress of a social and/or interpersonal nature, especially in the context of interpersonal dependence. Subjects displaying traits associated with C-PTSD include victims of chronic maltreatment by caregivers, as well as hostages, prisoners of war, concentration camp survivors, and survivors of some religious cults.
Situations causing the kind of traumatic stress that can lead to C-PTSD-like symptoms include captivity or entrapment (a situation lacking a viable escape route for the victim), as well as psychological manipulation (gaslighting and/or false accusations), which can result in a prolonged sense of helplessness and deformation of one's identity and sense of self. C-PTSD is distinct from, but similar to, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), somatization disorder, dissociative identity disorder, and borderline personality disorder.
