"Just Like Jesse James" is a pop rock song by American singer-actress Cher in her nineteenth album Heart of Stone. It is the third North American and second European official single released in October 1989 by Geffen Records. The song was written by Desmond Child and Diane Warren. It is a December 1989 top ten hit. The song's title is a reference to legendary Wild West bandit Jesse James.
The song peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in December, 1989, becoming Cher's third top ten single from Heart of Stone in the US. It also peaked at #9 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The song was released in the UK in December 1989 and peaked at No. 11 on the UK Singles Chart in February 1990.
Cher has stated during concert performances that she never cared much for the song, in part because there are so many lyrics in it that she has to sing and also because it too closely resembles a country music song (a genre she dislikes), but she acknowledges that many of her fans cite the song as one of their favorites. For this reason she added the song to her Farewell Tour.
Jesse James is a Lucky Luke comic written by Goscinny and illustrated by Morris. The original French edition was printed in 1969 by Dargaud. English editions of this French series have been published by Dargaud, Cinebook. Brockhampton Press and Tara Press. It is based on the true story of Jesse James (1847–1882).
In 1880, the story begins with Jesse James, who idolizes and tries to emulate Robin Hood, but somehow he is not able to clearly define the line between the rich he is supposed to rob and the poor he is supposed to help. With the help of his Shakespeare aficionado brother Frank, he therefore simply redefines the term "poor" for his own benefit, and along with Cole Younger the two begin robbing trains en masse, forcing Lucky Luke to move out and stop them with the somewhat inept assistance of two Pinkerton detectives.
Jesse James is a 1927 silent film produced by Adolph Zukor and Jesse L. Lasky and released through Paramount Pictures. The film was directed by Lloyd Ingraham and starred cowboy star Fred Thomson whose wife Frances Marion wrote the scenario under the nom de plume Frank M. Clifton.
The film was a light approach on the life of the famous outlaw, Jesse James, and was not popular with a large segment of the audience. Jesse E. James, the outlaw's son, served as technical advisor on the film.
Both IMDB and Lost Film Files have this film as being a lost film while SilentEra states that "a print exists".
Jesse James is an American independent record producer and songwriter, based in Philadelphia. He is best known for writing "Boogaloo Down Broadway", a 1967 top ten hit for The Fantastic Johnny C, and "The Horse" by Cliff Nobles, the instrumental version of "Love is All Right". The session musicians forming his James Boys included several of the musicians who later formed MFSB. In the early 1970s, James also wrote and produced hit records by the teen vocal duo Chee-Chee and Peppy.
He is sometimes confused with the soul singer Jesse James (born James Herbert McClelland, 1943), who had several US R&B hits between the 1960s and 1980s.
Cher (born 1946) is an American music and cinema artist.

Chér is the eponymous third studio album by American singer-actress Cher, released on October 1966 by Imperial. Cher collaborates again with Sonny Bono, with Harold Battiste and with Stan Ross. The album is by-and-large a covers album and contains only one song written by Bono. This album was a moderate commercial success, charted #59 on the Billboard Chart.
Chér was released in 1966, produced by Sonny Bono and issued by the Liberty Records subsidiary, Imperial Records.
The album again follows the same formula of the two previous albums, with rearranged covers and new songs written by Bono exclusively for her. There's more French influence in the record and more folk. The only hit in Europe generated from this album was her version of Burt Bacharach's "Alfie" from the Michael Caine movie. Although her version was on the film's soundtrack, it didn't fare nearly as well as the Dionne Warwick version—now considered definitive.
Despite the lack of impact it had on the market there were three singles released: the ballad "Alfie", "I Feel Something in the Air" and "Sunny". In this year Cher recorded also three other songs: "She's No Better Than Me" released on the b-side of the "Alfie" single, "Ma Piano (Per Non Svegliarmi)" and "Nel Mio Cielo Ci Sei Tu", an Italian version of "I Feel Something in the Air" released on the b-side of "Ma Piano (Per Non Svegliarmi)". Though not as successful as the two records preceding it, Chér did manage to score a European top ten hit with "Sunny". "Alfie" and "I Feel Like Something's In The Air" also charted, but only peaked at #26 in Canada, #32 in U.S.; and 43 in United Kingdom respectively.
ISO 15924, Codes for the representation of names of scripts, defines two sets of codes for a number of writing systems (scripts). Each script is given both a four-letter code and a numeric one. Script is defined as "set of graphic characters used for the written form of one or more languages".
Where possible the codes are derived from ISO 639-2 where the name of a script and the name of a language using the script are identical (example: Gujarātī ISO 639 guj, ISO 15924 Gujr). Preference is given to the 639-2 Bibliographical codes, which is different from the otherwise often preferred use of the Terminological codes.
4-letter ISO 15924 codes are incorporated into the Language Subtag Registry for IETF language tags and so can be used in file formats that make use of such language tags. For example, they can be used in HTML and XML to help Web browsers determine which typeface to use for foreign text. This way one could differentiate, for example, between Serbian written in the Cyrillic (sr-Cyrl
) or Latin (sr-Latn
) script, or mark romanized text as such.

You're struttin' into town like you're slingin' a gun
Just a small town dude with a big city attitude
Honey are ya lookin' for some trouble tonight
Well all right
You think you're so bad, drive the women folk wild
Shoot 'em all down with the flash of your pearly smile
Honey but you met your match tonight
Oh, that's right
You think you'll knock me off my feet 'til I'm flat on the floor
'Til my heart is cryin' Indian and I'm beggin for more
So come on baby
Come on baby show me what that loaded gun is for
If you can give it I can take it
'Cause if this heart is gonna break it's gonna take a lot to break it I know tonight
Somebody's gonna win the fight
So if you're so tough
Come on and prove it
You heart is down for the count and you know you're gonna lose it
Tonight you're gonna go down in flames
Just like Jesse James
You're an outlaw lover and I'm after your hide
Well you ain't so strong, won't be long 'til your hands are tied
Tonight I'm gonna take you in dead or alive
That's right
You break the laws of love in the name of desire
Take ten steps back cause I'm ready baby
Aim and fire
Baby there's nowhere you gonna run tonight
Ooh that's right
Well you've had your way with love but it's the end of the day
Now a team of wild horses couldn't drag your heart away
So come on baby
Come on baby
Come on baby you know there ain't nothing left to say
You think you'll knock me off my feet 'til I'm flat on the floor
'Til my heart is cryin' Indian and I'm beggin for more
So come on baby
Come on baby, come on
Tonight you're gonna go down in flames
Just like Jesse James
Tonight you're gonna go down in flames
Just like Jesse James
