The name Anthony is derived from the Latin name Antonius. A variant of the given name is Antony.
See Anthony (given name) and Anthony or Anthoney (surname)
A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some festivals focus on a specific film-maker or genre (e.g., film noir) or subject matter (e.g., horror film festivals). A number of film festivals specialise in short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians do not consider Film Festivals as official releases of film, like Jerry Beck. The best known film festivals are the Venice Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival, the latter being the largest film festival worldwide, based on attendance. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest major festival. The Melbourne International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the oldest in the world. A 2013 study found 3,000 active films festivals worldwide—active defined as having held an event in the previous 24 months.
One Too Many, also known as Killer With a Label, Mixed-Up Women, and The Important Story of Alcoholism, is an exploitation film produced by Kroger Babb in 1950. It tells the story of Helen Mason (Ruth Warrick), who is slowly revealed during the course of the film to be an alcoholic, destroying her career as a concert pianist and her family in the process.
The film contained musical numbers as filler, and was presented as an exploitation film by Babb. The subject matter, however, was not easily exploitable and the film failed to do well. Regardless, the film was redistributed many times over the years, and most recently released on DVD by Retroflicks.
"One Too Many Mornings" is a song by Bob Dylan, released on his third studio album The Times They Are a-Changin' in 1964. The chords and vocal melody are in some places very similar to the song "The Times They Are A-Changin'". "One Too Many Mornings" is in the key of C Major and is fingerpicked.
Dylan subsequently performed the song in electric arrangements -- notably during his 1966 world tour and in 1976 during his second Rolling Thunder Revue tour.
Pat Casey (born 1959) is the head coach for the Oregon State Beavers baseball team. He is best known for winning the 2006 College World Series for the Beavers' first-ever baseball National Championship. The following year, despite losing all but two starters on the team and being the final team selected in the NCAA College World Series bracket, he led the Beavers to a repeat championship in the 2007 College World Series, the first unranked team in history to accomplish this feat.
A three-sport athlete at Newberg High School, Casey attended the University of Portland where he played baseball as well as basketball. In baseball, he was named to the All-Pac-10 Conference Northern Division first team in 1979 and 1980, and was drafted in the 10th round by the San Diego Padres in the 1980 Major League Baseball Draft. He played seven seasons in the minor leagues, including the Beaumont Golden Gators, the Calgary Cannons and the Portland Beavers.
After his playing career ended, Casey became head baseball coach at George Fox University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1990, also playing basketball for the school while coaching baseball. In seven seasons at George Fox, his baseball team compiled a 171-113-1 record.
Public Knowledge interviews Anthony Deptula, writer/producer/actor of the film One Too Many Mornings. Anthony discusses the digital distribution methods that are being used to capitalize on One Too Many Mornings' selection for the Sundance Film Festival, how they are different from traditional distribution methods, and why you are more likely to see him rolling around in sheet of paper than in a pile of money.
