Hotel employee uses lost phone to blackmail techie, held
TNN | May 21, 2016, 03.07 AM IST Hyderabad: A house-keeping employee in a hotel was arrested by Madhapur police on Friday for allegedly harassing and attempting to extort money from a woman software engineer using her lost mobile phone.
Madhapur police said Anand, 21, stumbled upon a mobile phone on the road a few days back near Hi-Tec city.
The phone belonged to B Saraswathi who had lost it while travelling in an auto. When she called up her phone, Anand took the call and started threatening that he would upload her private photos on social media.
"Anand demanded Rs 30,000 from the victim and threatened to misuse her photos. When she approached the police, we nabbed the accused,'' police said.
