Blake Hall is centrally located on Campus Lake and close to the University Recreational Center, the Greek houses, the Student Union, and the 459 Commons dining hall. With its lobby arranged for group conversations and a picnic area on the lake behind the building, the Blake Hall environment is conducive to both academic and social activities.
Also located in Blake Hall, the Ag Residential College (ARC) is open to all first year students in the College of Agriculture. The residential college focuses on "Ag Leadership", a reoccurring theme throughout this program designed for first-year Agriculture students. By taking several core courses together, students will more quickly form relationships with classmates and professors both inside the classroom and out. The residence hall will offer opportunities to travel and host several special interest lectures that focus on the diverse needs of today's ever changing world. By living in a "mini-campus" atmosphere within the larger LSU campus, students will achieve a greater sense of awareness, cultural competence, leadership, and community.
The Department of Residence Life is committed to the academic success and personal growth of the campus community. With higher GPAs of those students living off campus, our on-campus residents have access to world-class facilities and scholars at their doorsteps. This film shows Blake Hall Station as it was when Central Line London Transport tube trains called here, after its closure and as it was in 2014 - as a non-functioning former station (now a private dwelling) as part of the Epping Ongar heritage railway.

The HD views come from a special event that was held on 27,28,29 September 2014 to commemorate the ending of services using Central Line tube trains at the end of September 1994.

In this short video Harry, Steve and Andy travel to the small Staffordshire town of Cheadle to fish Blake Hall fishery. The complex is a great day ticket water offering a great days sport. We started the day off by taking full advantage of the excellent facilities available and all had a full English breakfast to start the day off. Andy spods out using the Spomb and Harry gets a ripping run and lands a cracking Barbel. The video show's the different tactics that we adopt, and covers the other pools available to fish at Blake Hall. Blake Hall
Blake Hall is a country house and gardens in the village and civil parish of Bobbingworth, near Chipping Ongar, Essex.
The house incorporates an original fabric dating from the 17th century or older, but was largely rebuilt in the 18th century and later remodelled by George Basevi in 1822. It has been home to the Capel Cure family for over 200 years.
After the operations centre at nearby RAF North Weald for Sector E, No. 11 Group RAF was bombed by the Luftwaffe in September 1940 during the Battle of Britain, floors and interior walls from a portion of Blake Hall were removed, and a new "ops room" (operations room) substituted.
The Grade II* listed building is now set within its own conservation area.
Part of the railway to Ongar, opened in 1865, ran through land belonging to the Blake Hall estate, and a station called Blake Hall was named after the hall, even though the station was more than a mile to the south-west of the house itself. Latterly on the Central line of the London Underground, Blake Hall station closed in 1981.

Blake
Blake is a surname or a given name which originated from Old English. Its derivation is uncertain; it could come from "blac", a nickname for someone who had dark hair or skin, or from "blaac", a nickname for someone with pale hair or skin. Another theory is that it is a corruption of "Ap Lake", meaning "Son of Lake".
Blake was the name of one of the 14 Tribes of Galway in Ireland. These Blakes were descendants of Richard Caddell, alias Blake, who was involved in the Norman invasion of Ireland in 1169. As such a long present foreign name it became known as de Bláca in Irish.
The origins of the name Blake are also considered to be Old Norse, first appearing in Yorkshire, England, possibly derived from the word Blaker, referring to a village and a former municipality of Akershus county, Norway (east of Oslo).
Blake often refers to the British poet, painter and printmaker William Blake (1757–1827) or to the contemporary figurative artist Blake.

Hall
In architecture, a hall is a relatively large space enclosed by a roof and walls. In the Iron Age, a mead hall was such a simple building and was the residence of a lord and his retainers. Later, rooms were partitioned from it, and the space next to the front door became the entrance hall. Today, the (entrance) hall of a house is the space next to the front door or vestibule leading to the rooms directly and/or indirectly. Where the hall inside the front door of a house is elongated, it may be called a passage, corridor (from Spanish corredor used in El Escorial and 100 years later in Castle Howard) or hallway.
Other meanings
The term hall is often used to designate a British or Irish country house such as a hall house, or specifically a Wealden hall house, and manor houses.
In later medieval Europe, the main room of a castle or manor house was the great hall. In a medieval building, the hall was where the fire was kept. With time, its functions as dormitory, kitchen, parlour and so on were divided off to separate rooms or, in the case of the kitchen, a separate building.

In this short video Harry, Steve and Andy travel to the small Staffordshire town of Cheadle to fish Blake Hall fishery. The complex is a great day ticket water offering a great days sport. We started the day off by taking full advantage of the excellent facilities available and all had a full English breakfast to start the day off. Andy spods out using the Spomb and Harry gets a ripping run and lands a cracking Barbel. The video show's the different tactics that we adopt, and covers the other pools available to fish at Blake Hall. But when I arrived at my hotel, I wasn't quite ready for the initial shock I felt.
The hotel was more like a motel and two blocks away entailed a long hike over a freeway.
