Filip Novák (born May 7, 1982) is a Czech professional ice hockey player. Novak currently plays for Dynamo Moscow in the Kontinental Hockey League. He has won the Gagarin Cup twice with Dynamo in 2012 and 2013.
Novák played junior hockey with HC Budejovice in his native Czech Republic and with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League before he was drafted by the New York Rangers in the second round (64th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. After being drafted, he spent a two further seasons with Regina.
On March 8, 2002 he was part of a blockbuster trade that sent Novák, Igor Ulanov, a first-round selection in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft (later traded to Calgary Flames - Eric Nystrom), a second-round selection in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft (Rob Globke) and a fourth-round selection in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft to the Florida Panthers for Pavel Bure and a second-round selection in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft (Lee Falardeau). Nearing the end of the season, he sustained a serious injury that kept him off the ice until late 2004, when he played with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.
Filip Novák (born 26 June 1990) is a Czech professional left-footed football player who currently plays in the Danish Superliga for FC Midtjylland. He holds the Czech First League record for most goals scored in one season by a defender with 11 goals in the 2014–15 season.
Filip Novák began playing football for his home team in Přerov. He had moved to FC Zlín in 2007 and then signed for FK Baumit Jablonec in 2011.
He played in the Czech premier league for the first time against Příbram when he was 18 years old. Then he played only one whole match before his team was relegated to the second league in the end of the season 2008-09. It was an advantage for him because there was a less strong competition so he climbed to the top players of the team gradually.
In July 2011 Novák moved to Jablonec. He scored his first goal in the Czech First League against Dukla Prague on 1 October 2012. On 17 May 2013, Novák won the Czech Cup with Jablonec, after playing he whole final match and scoring in the penalty shootout. He won the Czech Supercup against the league champion, FC Viktoria Plzeň with Jablonec on 12 July 2013. By winning the Czech Cup in the previous season, Jablonec qualified for the UEFA Europa League where they eliminated Strømsgodset IF in the Third Qualifying Round before being eliminated by Real Betis in the Play-off Round.
