Grits (also sometimes called sofkee or sofkey from the Muskogee word) are a food of Native American origin common in the Southern United States and mainly eaten at breakfast. They consist of coarsely ground corn, or sometimes alkali-treated corn (hominy). Grits are similar to other thick maize-based porridges from around the world, such as polenta, or the thinner farina.
Grits are usually prepared by adding one part grits to two-to-three parts boiling water, sometimes seasoned with salt or sugar. They are usually cooked for 5–10 minutes for "quick" grits or 20 or more minutes for whole kernel grits, or until the water is absorbed and the grits become a porridge-like consistency. As grits expand when they are cooked, they need to be stirred periodically to prevent sticking and forming lumps. They may be served with grated cheese, butter, sausage or country ham red-eye gravy. Grits have also been known to be served with fish such as fried catfish or salmon croquettes. Shrimp and grits is considered a breakfast delicacy in the Low Country of coastal South Carolina. Another popular variant is Charleston-style grits, where the grits are boiled in milk, instead of water, to give them a creamy consistency.

Plot: "Dangerous Crosswinds", a feature-length drama from filmmaker Bill Millios, is the story of a Pulitzer prize-winning reporter who hits a career roadblock and returns to New Hampshire, where he was raised, to regroup. Once back, he unexpectedly finds himself at the center of a story unlike any he's covered before-one involving his own role in the mercy-killing of a close friend. The script of Dangerous Crosswinds centers on Harry Toland, a New Hampshire native who has built a highly successful career at a New York City daily paper. As the film opens, Harry has just been fired over a controversial book he wrote supporting a person's right to die. The uproar has proven too much for the paper, which has let him go. Harry, recently divorced, opts to return to New Hampshire's Seacoast Region, where he grew up, to reassess his life's direction. He takes a job with a local paper, The Hampton Eagle, which is edited by an old college buddy. As Harry reconnects with other figures from his past, he learns the wife of one of his former UNH mentors is afflicted with an advanced case of Alzheimer's disease. Though a firm believer in a person's right to die, Harry later begins to question the circumstances of the situation he suddenly finds himself in the middle of. His search for answers leads him on a mini-odyssey of encounters with a wide range of local people from vastly different backgrounds, each of whom knows a piece of the real story. As the clues add up, Harry is forced to confront a reality that he could never have imagined-one complicated by his own role in the death of a cherished friend under circumstances that are much different than what he first imagined.

So get you cups up, get your drink up,
It's living water, baby,
Get your mind in order, baby.
The world is yours, you can kick it any way you want,
You can be a slave forever, you can be the stump that everybody walks over,
Or you can be a boulder and crush those fools like a Buffalo soldier,
Yeah, Tennessee up in the house like this, and we smacking all suckers with the West Coast twist, (we yell)
Dead flow in the Cadillac, baby, the windows rolled down on the Sunset Strip,
The price paid, the blood on the ground laid,
We ‘bout to change the game like the Bones brigade,
And I'm the new Lance Mountain in some D & G jeans,
I'm cold chilling, baby, with the West Coast lean.
No matter who you are, tonight is open bar.

The living liquid is acidic when it's going down exquisite,
Revisited, I did it, live it to the triple digit,
Give it, get it ‘til it pivot with it,
Carter said we did it,
Let it eat at you, acidic,
We got it ‘cause we get it, did it,
In a manner, planned a proper course and took it,
Lead a brighter light of hope, invading games and certain that no one mistook it for a fleeting moment,
On it like a vigilante group,
Purchase ticket, come and see me on it like a business suit,
I'm the supplying the truth, soon ample amounts of ammo,
A word of caution though: never chew off more than you can handle,
This is just a snippet, body ripping in the sample,
Consequences, limit, ain't no gimmicks in this foxhole.
No matter who you are, tonight is open bar.

It's that lyrical liquid, miracle liquid,
Same divine wine Jesus pickled the sick with,
Healed the afflicted,
Dipped, sipped and chilled with his click wit,
Last supper for the label, and Grits to break bread with,
A permanent link, penned with a permanent ink,
Discern vessels to eternally think,
For twelve years we been earning our keep, and won't stop,
Shed tears for the lost souls falling asleep,
They spear beers to the homies who was caught in the street,
We say our prayers for the mothers who was left with the grief,
Wait patiently in the night for the thief to creep,
In the blink of an eye, standing at the cold of his feet,
Sipping that living water, keeping my mind in order,
Passing the cup dutifully, it ended up beautifully.
So get you cups up, and get your drink on,
It's living water, baby,
Get your mind in order, baby.
