First IORA meeting wraps up in Iran's southern port city

Chabahar, Sistan-Baluchestan Prov., May 21, IRNA – The first IORA Free Trade Zone Authorities Meeting, launched Thursday in Iran's Chabahar port city Free Trade-Industrial Zone (CFZ), ended on Friday.

The two-day meeting kicked off attended by Iran’s First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri and some other Iranian top officials.

The first meeting of the heads of the Indian Ocean Rim Association Free Zones was organized in Chabahar by Iran's Secretariat of High Council of Free and Special Economic Zones, Foreign Ministry and Sistan and Baluchestan Governorate General.

The Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) is the only regional forum linking most countries on the Indian Ocean rim through an annual foreign ministers' meeting.

It seeks to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the Indian Ocean region through a consensus-based approach.
