Hey, it's 2016 and the B.I.R. shit show continues! I said I'd have these out in January but, as usual, the world of pressing records is a sly and unpredictable beast; a selfish lover, if you will. Regardless, they are FINALLY here and ready to roll, so let's get down to the nitty gritty:

BLOOD PRESSURE - NEED TO CONTROL 12"

BLOOD PRESSURE finally deliver "NEED TO CONTROL" as a follow up to their Self Titled EP that turned heads all over when it came out in 2014. After a few personnel changes and a slew of gigs up and down the East Coast, the boys churned out yet another absolute pounder for the masses. You know the deal - this one features ten tracks of scathing hardcore punk from the Steel City, crafted in the way that they know how to make it out there... which is of the ripping, bleak, and fucked up variety. Featuring full color cover art by Matt Bellosi.

STRUTTER - S/T EP

Beach Impediment is pleased to introduce the debut EP from Austin's STRUTTER. Hot on the heels of a true ripper of a demo and a slew of US and Canadian dates with GLUE that the band closed out 2015 with, this four song 7" delivers more of their brand of raging hardcore punk, bringing to mind groups like WHITE PIGS and other frantic and vicious hardcore acts in that vein. Featuring members of IMPALERS, VAASKA, GLUE, and THEE NODES. Each record comes in a glue pocket sleeve featuring full color art by Scott Young.

10/5/15 - ABSOLUT / PARANOID SPLIT 12" OUT NOW!

As promised, B.I.R. has returned with more HCPM for that ass. Let's get right to it:

ABSOLUT (Canada) and PARANOID (Sweden) team up to unleash this split 12" of JAWBREAKING MANGEL DEVASTATION! We are pretty proud of this release as it comes with full color artwork by the legendary Japanese hardcore punk artist SUGI and comes in a gatefold sleeve. Its limited to 500 (400 black vinyl and 100 transparent orange). If you've heard either band before you know what to expect. ABSOLUT plays devastating HC punk influenced by late era Cimex and other punk bands with a metal tinge to them. The vocals on this are relentless. PARANOID hailing from Sweden have members from many other Swedish kang bands and are in my opinion one of the world's best current punk acts. Taking influence from the countless raging Swedish bands they grew up with but also taking plenty of cues from Japan and combining them into a barrage of intense hardcore punk that will leave you numb!

8/25/15 - NEW 7"s from EEL, CONCEALED BLADE, and AJAX OUT NOW!!!

We meet again! B.I.R. is back with 3 new releases on the 7" format. There's not much else to say so I'm just gonna get down to it:

EEL - S/T EP

After a bit of down time since their last record, EEL has emerged from whatever local Pittsburgh landfill they came from with some more sonic blasts of the blown out noise infused hardcore punk pounders that they’ve made themselves known for with their past few releases. This particular slab features three original rippers followed by a DISORDER cover to close it all out. Each record comes in a full color glue pocket sleeve featuring some stunning cover art by Denis Boardman of the legendary UK band DOOM. Also included is a 14”x14” poster with a rather intricate black and white collage done by the band’s own 1984.

There are 150 copies on translucent red vinyl for mailorder only while they last.

CONCEALED BLADE - DEMO 7"

Braddock’s CONCEALED BLADE caught many off guard when their Earth shattering demo became available in early 2015 and now Beach Impediment is proud to bring it to the masses on the 7” format. Featuring members of BLOOD PRESSURE, HOUNDS OF HATE, and NO TIME, this recording is a relentless one full of the kind of riffs and vocals that bring late 80’s NYHC to mind while retaining a modern yet tasteful vibe all its own. For fans of hardcore and just simply “not for the fucking weak,” as they say.

NYC’s finest follow up their demo and 7” on Katorga Works, along with their appearance on the HARDCORE: GIMME SOME MORE compilation, with what could very well be their best material to date! The four tracks on this new recording continue to exhibit the band’s perfected blend of USHC combined with the best of Sweden with harsh vocals barked over TOTALITAR influenced riffing. Saying that this release is essential would be an understatement. Each record comes in a full color glue pocket sleeve adorned with artwork by Shiva Addanki.

5/26/15 - VAASKA - TODOS CONTRA TODOS 12" OUT NOW!

Summer is once again rolling into the blue collar resort town of VB. The roads are crowded and the people are obnoxious, so it's been my pleasure spending the past week inside getting Beach Impediment #15 ready for you all! Thanks to those who snagged an advance copy of the record from the band on their East Coast tour with AJAX back in April. For everyone else, have at it! Here's the nitty gritty:

"Since the earliest days of hardcore punk, the city of Austin, TX has been known for producing some of the best in the genre. The notoriety of this particular scene has grown exponentially over the past few years with a deluge of stellar bands coming out and capturing the adoration of those in search of “that good shit.” Out of them all, VAASKA would have to be the longest running and most abrasive of the bunch.  After a five year break from the format the boys have delivered yet another 12” platter of the raging D-Beat that they initially made themselves known for and have been perfecting over the years. And the aforementioned half a decade break between the 12”s was in no way an indication of them slowing down, seeing the release of a 7” on Germany’s Heart First Records and the recording of a session with their latest and greatest lineup (featuring the addition of Chris Ulsh on the kit) that yielded a split 7” with fellow ATX goons THE IMPALERS and another with Japan’s SKIZOPHRENIA on Beach Impediment and 540 / Todo Destruido respectively. “TODOS CONTRA TODOS” features 11 tracks of blown out hard punk pounders that will continue to capture the attention of those who admire the art of crafting urgent and seething songs."

12/30/14 - MERCY KILLINGS - SNUFFED OUT EP OUT NOW!

Greetings! It's been a relatively slow year here at B.I.R. for a plethora of reasons, but I'm just as tickled as can be to get this one out before 2015 arrives. Anyways, without further ado, I give you the final entry of B.I.R.'s output for the year 2014.

A year after recording what would be the self titled EP, the lads of MERCY KILLINGS returned to the great state of North Carolina to lay down yet another sonic assault of hardcore punk. The resulting material proved to be even more vicious than the band's initial effort, yielding five songs of the savage USHC that certain members have been known for producing for over a decade now with select nods here and there to other spots on the globe that have been known to influence good punk as opposed to shit punk. These guys are, thankfully, too purist and/or out of touch to even consider flirting with any of the cringe inducing trends and fashions that have plagued the genre as a whole in recent memory. Therefore, fans of well executed hardcore punk can rest assured that they will receive just that upon obtaining this slab. Each record comes in a glue pocket sleeve adorned with stunning water color and ink based art by the illustrious Jaybo.
