The Sahana Free and Open Source Disaster Management System is emergency management and disaster preparedness software developed by the Sahana Software Foundation. Conceived during the 2004 Sri Lanka tsunami to help manage the disaster, Sahana software was deployed by the Sri Lankan government's Center of National Operations (CNO), which included the Center of Humanitarian Agencies (CHA). Funding was provided by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). The project has grown, with deployments during other disasters such as the Asian Quake in Pakistan (2005), Southern Leyte Mudslide Disaster in Philippines (2006), the Jogjakarta Earthquake in Indonesia (2006) and the January 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Sahana currently has three projects: Eden, being developed in Python; Agasti, being developed in PHP; and the localization project, L10n.
The Sahana project aims to provide a set of modular, web-based disaster management applications.
Rabindra Sangeet (Bengali: রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীত Robindro shonggit, Bengali pronunciation: [ɾobind̪ɾo ʃoŋɡit̪]), also known as Tagore Songs, are songs written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore. They have distinctive characteristics in the music of Bengal, popular in India and Bangladesh. It is characterised by its distinctive rendition while singing which includes a significant amount of ornamentation like meend, murki, etc. and is filled with expressions of romanticism. The music is mostly based on Hindustani classical music and folk music of Bengal.
After the decisive victory of the British East India Company in the Battle of Plassey in 1757, they became the rulers of Bengal. The Nawabs had almost no practical power of their own. Under the British rule, the lifestyle of the people of Bengal started to change gradually. People of Calcutta had enough money at this time and they were desirous for entertainment. In 1779, Calcutta's first theatre was established which emulated European theatres of the era. Music listening, learning and cultivating European music styles and performance practices began around that time.
T.M. Krishna (Thodur Madabusi Krishna, born in 1976) is a Carnatic music vocalist. Hailing from a family of music connoisseurs, he was exposed to the south Indian classical music at an early age. His first concert was at the Spirit of Youth series organized by the Music Academy, Chennai (India). T.M. Krishna was born in Chennai on January 22, 1976. His father was a businessman in the automobile industry and his mother has founded several educational institutions, most recently a school for tribal children (Vidyavanam) which caters to over 300 children. www.vidyavanam.org
Krishna's mother learnt from Krishna's guru (teacher) B. Seetharama Sharma who on noticing Krishna's interest in music,started teaching him when he was six years old. Krishna had his schooling in The School, an institution founded and run by the J. Krishnamurti Foundation which has influenced his perceptions and outlook towards life, a fact mentioned by him in various interviews. He received his B.A. degree in economics from Vivekananda College, Madras. Married to Sangeetha Sivakumar, who is also a Carnatic musician, on November 7, 1997, he has two daughters by name Arya and Anantha, and lives in Mylapore.

TM Krishna was the featured artiste at the FEA-curated KARNATIC MODERN 3-day tour in Mumbai in December 2016. The Concert, held at Veer Savarkar Auditorium in Shivaji Park, Dadar was scheduled for Day 2. TM Krishna was accompanied by Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, Praveen Kumar on mridangam, Chandrasekhara Sharma on ghatam and Rithvik Raja and Bhavik Mankad on tanpuras. The first piece of the evening was the exquisite Raag Sahana featuring a composition by Thyagaraja.
This folk song has been collected by Santanu Ghosh, a musicologist residing in Santiniketan, from a female singer whose name could not be known in a village near the town of Behrampore, West Bengal, India.
