'UFO-Cloud' covering the top of mountain Laccolith, Ukraine. June 2012
Ayu-Dag or Medved'-gora (Crimean Tatar: Ayuv Dağ Russian: Аю-Даг, Медведь-гора, Ukrainian: Аю-Даг), is the peak in Crimea, Ukraine. It is also known under Russified name Medved'-gora (Russian: Медведь-гора, Ukrainian: Ведмідь-гора). The peak is located 16 km north-east from Yalta between the towns of Gurzuf and Partenit. The mountain is laccolith. Today its territory is a Nature reserve (5.5 km2). There is a pioneer children's camp Artek near Ayu-Dag (Medved' Mountain) which is well known internationally. The eastern slopes of Ayu-Dag lead to an ancient settlement Partenit. Remains of early-medieval settlement were discovered here. In 9th-10th centuries it was a well-known seaport, bound with cities of Byzantine Empire. The western slopes lead to Artek. All language variants of the mountain's name mean Bear Mountain and are translations from the original Crimean Tatar name. ("bear" - медведь in Russian, ведмідь in Ukrainian, ayuv in Crimean Tatar; "mountain" - гора in Russian and Ukrainian, dağ in Crimean Tatar). Devils Tower, Wyoming: "Tower of Stone" National Park Service 8min
more at scitech.quickfound.net "This film is a geological explanation of the tallest rock formation of its kind in the United States. Devils' Tower is the nation's first national monument." Public domain film from the National Archives, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied. The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and equalization. Split with MKVmerge GUI (part of MKVToolNix), the same software can recombine the downloaded parts (in mp4 format): www.bunkus.org en.wikipedia.org Devils Tower (Lakota: Matȟó Thípila or Ptehé Ǧí, which means "Bear Lodge" and "brown buffalo horn", respectively) is an igneous intrusion or laccolith located in the Black Hills near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. It rises dramatically 1267 feet (386 m) above the surrounding terrain and the summit is 5112 feet (1558 m) above sea level. Devils Tower was the first declared United States National Monument, established on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt. The Monument's boundary encloses an area of 1347 acres (5.45 km2). In recent years, about 1% of the Monument's 400000 annual visitors climb Devils Tower, mostly through traditional climbing techniques... The landscape surrounding Devils Tower is composed mostly of sedimentary rocks. The oldest rocks visible in Devils Tower National Monument were ...

Deferred Renderer - DX11 & Compute Shader
A Deferred Renderer I'm working on using DirectX 11 with all the lighting done in a Compute Shader. Currently only supports point lights, with directional and spot lights on the way. As for performance, it can run over 250 lights without dropping below 60fps, however, with optimisations could this could be greatly improved. The environment I created doesn't show it of that well, I'm certainly no modeller or texture artist.

Devils Tower National Monument - Wyoming
PLEASE WATCH in 720p HD or higher! From 1:00 to 1:30 mark on this video it is blurry for some reason? It is not like this in my original and I uploaded this video twice thinking something may have happened the first time around. No clue as to why this part of the video is like this?? I haven't had that problem before with any of my videos. We stopped at Devils Tower National Monument just before heading into Yellowstone National Park. I really didn't know what to expect from only seeing pictures of this unique place. We hiked the 1.3-miles around the base of the Tower which was really neat seeing all sides of it and how it changes perspective. At one point there was a Park Ranger telling a story of a man landing on top of Devils Tower after jumping from an Airplane. You can hear her briefly telling the story later in the video.. There is also one area of the Tower that skilled climbers can climb. I'm not sure how high they can climb but I did film a guy climbing up the side about half way up. Devils Tower is an igneous intrusion or laccolith located in the Black Hills near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. It rises dramatically 1267 feet (386 m) above the surrounding terrain and the summit is 5112 feet (1558 m) above sea level. Devils Tower was the first declared United States National Monument, established on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt. Of course the Devils Tower was made highly popular from ...
