Insane (stylized as inSANE) was a survival horror video game, formerly in development by Volition to be published by THQ, in collaboration with film director Guillermo del Toro. It was being developed for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and was to be released in 2013. It was intended as the first installment of a planned trilogy of Insane video games.
Insane was first announced at the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards on December 11th 2010 by del Toro and Volition, in the form of a thirty-second teaser trailer. Del Toro said of the game, "With this new series of video games, I want to take players to a place they have never seen before, where every single action makes them question their own senses of morality and reality. THQ and Volition, Inc. are equally excited to make this vision of a completely new game universe into a reality."
Comic book artist Guy Davis was one of the key designers of the game. He has previously worked with del Toro on designs for At the Mountains of Madness.
Relapse is the sixth studio album by American rapper Eminem. The album was released on May 19, 2009 under Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope Records. It was his first album of original material since Encore (2004), following a four-year hiatus from recording due to his writer's block and an addiction to prescription sleeping medication. Recording sessions for the album took place during 2005 to 2009 at several recording studios, and Dr. Dre, Mark Batson, and Eminem handled production. Conceptually, Relapse concerns the ending of his drug rehabilitation, rapping after a non-fictional relapse, and the return of his Slim Shady alter-ego.
One of the most anticipated album releases of 2009, Relapse debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 608,000 copies in its first week. It produced three singles that attained chart success and has been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The album received mixed reviews from most music critics, who were divided in their responses towards Eminem's lyrics. It has sold more than three million copies in the United States and more than ten million copies worldwide.
Convoy is a 1940 British war film, produced by Ealing Studios, directed by Pen Tennyson and starring Clive Brook, John Clements and Edward Chapman. It was Tennyson's last film before being killed in a plane crash.
A Royal Navy cruiser returns to base to find all leave has been cancelled and they are to start out straight away for a special mission. Supplemented with a new 1st officer, who turns out to have caused the captain's divorce a few years earlier, they are sent to meet a convoy in the North Sea and escort it safely into British coastal waters. One stubborn freighter captain, who has the cargo hold full of refugees, mainly Jews, refuses to join the convoy and is captured by a U-boat which sets a trap for the convoy escort. One of the passengers is the former wife of the cruiser's captain, as well as the former lover of its 1st officer, and this is something the Germans make use of when sending urgent messages from the freighter, claiming it is sinking and naming her as one of the passengers. When the ex lover takes the bite and tries to send a destroyer to the freighter's rescue, the captain locks him up, as all ships must protect the convoy. Eventually, a North Sea patrol destroyer comes to the rescue instead, sinks the U-boat and takes the freighter on tow to the convoy, where the captain and his ex wife meet and come to an understanding.
"Convoy" is a 1975 novelty song performed by C. W. McCall (pseudonym of Bill Fries) that became a number-one song on both the country and pop charts in the U.S. Written by McCall and Chip Davis, the song spent six weeks at number one on the country charts and one week at number one on the pop charts. The song went to number one in Canada as well, hitting the top of the RPM Top Singles Chart on January 24, 1976. "Convoy" further peaked at number two in the UK. The song capitalized on the fad for citizens band (CB) radio. The song was the inspiration for the 1978 Sam Peckinpah film Convoy.
The song consists of three types of interspersed dialog: a simulated CB conversation with CB slang, the narration of the story, and the chorus. It is about a fictitious trucker rebellion that drives from the west to the east coast of the United States without stopping. What they are protesting against (other than the 55 mph speed limit, then recently introduced in response to the 1973 oil crisis) is shown by lines such as "we tore up all of our swindle sheets" (CB slang for log sheets used to record driving hours; the term referenced the practice of falsifying entries to show that drivers were getting proper sleep when, in reality, the drivers were driving more than the prescribed number of hours before mandatory rest in order to shorten trip time) and "left 'em settin' on the scales" (CB slang for Department of Transportation weigh stations on Interstates and highways to verify the weight of the truck and the drivers' hours of working through log books). The song also refers to toll roads: "We just ain't a-gonna pay no toll." Also the "hammer" is the accelerator pedal; putting it down fed more diesel fuel to the engine, therefore breaking the speed limit. (An album compilation of "trucking songs" was entitled "Put the Hammer Down".)
Lin Que (born Lin Que Ayoung 7 September 1969) is a female hip-hop artist. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan in 1987. She was a member of the hip-hop collective known as the Blackwatch Movement (which included X Clan) as Isis. She released her debut album Rebel Soul while affiliated with that group in 1990.
Lin Que left X-Clan to work with MC Lyte. No longer Isis, she rhymed as Lin Que and released a couple of singles for SME Records and Elektra Records. She eventually went into A&R work and graphic design, and she appeared briefly in Spike Lee's He Got Game and Ted Demme's Who's the Man?
She collaborated with various artists such as Will Downing, Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Smif-N-Wessun, The Beatnuts, Monifah, Ce Ce Peniston, and more.
She had a brief stint as a member of the Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated group Deadly Venoms. After leaving the group for business reasons shortly after its debut album was recorded and never released, she remained writing and creating music with producers Sugar Al Cayne, Azteknique, and Ayatollah. She has written for MC Lyte and has been producing music as well.
Isis is a goddess from the polytheistic pantheon of Egypt.
