Roughly 6 months after an errorless, but maybe not exceptional October 1980 run at the Warfield-Radio City, the GD had an outstanding East Coast Spring 1981 tour with notable shows on May 1st (Hampton), 6th (Nassau), 11th (New Haven)... The video is of very good, for the period, amateur quality.

This is pleasant Sam Boyd Silver Bowl ! But it's also 1994 and, on this night, musically, it's not particularly ... exciting.
Two nights later, on 6.26.1994, you can find Set One (excellent Pro-Shot) with a fabulous "So Many Roads" !
A few comments :
Anon : "If memory serves, it was 118 degrees and miserable during this show"
Paul : "my brother tells me this was a fantastic concert. I love the second set closer!"
Haven McInerney : "Well, at least it was a dry heat. I'll never forget this show... As I look at the setlist now I think, wow - that looks like a great show. Truth is, I don't think they played that well that night... Standing on the Moon was wonderful!"
Chris Monson : "yes, I would concur, this run of shows was waaay too hot. We pulled into town, radiator steamin', bank clocks reading 119. The shows were good though. I was just waiting for Jer to fall over from the heat, but they kept his fan on high for the big fella."

Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman (born Neta-Lee Hershlag; Hebrew: נטע-לי הרשלג; June 9, 1981) is an actress, film producer and film director with dual American and Israeli citizenship. Her first role was in the 1994 action thriller Léon: The Professional, opposite Jean Reno, but mainstream success came when she was cast as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy (released in 1999, 2002 and 2005).
Born in Jerusalem to an Israeli father and American mother, Portman grew up in the eastern United States from the age of three. She studied dancing and acting in New York, and starred in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace while still at high school on Long Island. In 1999, Portman enrolled at Harvard University to study psychology, alongside her work as an actress; she completed a bachelor's degree in 2003. During her studies she starred in a second Star Wars film and opened in New York City's Public Theater production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull in 2001.
Portman starred in the 2004 drama Closer, appeared in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith the following year, and won a Constellation Award for Best Female Performance and a Saturn Award for Best Actress for her starring role in the political thriller V for Vendetta (2006). This is pleasant Sam Boyd Silver Bowl ! But it's also 1994 and, on this night, musically, it's not particularly ... exciting.
Two nights later, on 6.26.1994, you can find Set One (excellent Pro-Shot) with a fabulous "So Many Roads" !
A few comments :
Anon : "If memory serves, it was 118 degrees and miserable during this show"
Paul : "my brother tells me this was a fantastic concert. I love the second set closer!"
Haven McInerney : "Well, at least it was a dry heat. I'll never forget this show... As I look at the setlist now I think, wow - that looks like a great show. Truth is, I don't think they played that well that night... Standing on the Moon was wonderful!"
Chris Monson : "yes, I would concur, this run of shows was waaay too hot. We pulled into town, radiator steamin', bank clocks reading 119. The shows were good though. I was just waiting for Jer to fall over from the heat, but they kept his fan on high for the big fella."
J Griffin : "Jerry's wearing shorts! Jerry's wearing shorts!"
