(HD) Glenn Quinn Tribute - "How to Save a Life"
A warning to anyone thinking of leaving negative / disrespectful comments about
Glenn, his memory, family, friends or fans on my video: I will be monitoring VIGILANTLY.
Haters will be shot.
Survivors will be shot again.
Thank you for your cooperation, BadGirl ;)
In loving memory of
Glenn Quinn (May 28,
1970 -
Dec 3,
2002), the best
Irish import since Guinness
...well, aside from my Gramma, who was also born in
Dublin and is likely up in heaven hitting on poor Glenn right now (yeah, sorry about that, bud - she's a feisty one). This tribute is an invitation for Glenn's family, friends, and fans to spend a few bittersweet moments recalling the warmth, humor, and charm he gave us during his entirely-too-brief life.
Glenn was a wonderfully talented actor best known for his portrayals of: the gambling, alcoholic, yet oh-so-loveable half-demon,
Allen Francis Doyle on '
Angel'; the reformed renegade-teen,
Mark Healy on '
Roseanne'; and the adorable, skirt-chasing trickster, Cedric
Grey on '
Covington Cross'.
It is so hard to believe that in just a few weeks, it will have been seven years since Glenn's tragic and untimely death. Like so many of his fans, I did not learn of his passing until a great deal of time afterward. As I have a tendency to hold grudges (which was inherited from the Irish Gramma who is currently hitting on Glenn in heaven), I stopped watching Angel after the episode '
Hero' aired, vowing to hold out unless
Doyle's character was brought back.
Unfortunately, due to my pro-Doyle/Glenn boycott of the show, I was not informed of his passing by the episode which was dedicated to him in season 4. In fact, I was completely ignorant of it until one day last year (while avoiding working on my original novel) the memory of Glenn's voice popped into my head with one wonderfully accented word: "SLACKER!" A character was promptly created in his honor as a thank-you for the thought-intrusion...but as I typed away, smiling at memories of his acting and marveling at how well he fit into the story, I realized I had not heard anything about him since season one of Angel. A quick internet search for the whereabouts of the cute little bugger revealed that that day was the six year anniversary of his death. My reaction: o.0 and then :**(
Yeah, writing was put on hold for the tearful exclamations of, "what the hell do you mean, he died in 2002?!", a marathon viewing of the first 9 episodes of Angel, unabashed bawling, and eventually, the creation of numerous fan-fictions and my previous tribute videos to him. Since
I've (somewhat) gotten over the whole initial shock/denial phase at this
point, I wanted to give him a new tribute for the new year.
Now, regardless of the manner in which he was taken from us, it is a heart-wrenching tragedy and he is still greatly missed. As for the rest of it, everyone will just have to agree to disagree...or fight about it elsewhere. Do not use this video as a debate forum, a religious sounding board, a place to try to lay blame on anyone, or to speak as if you have the slightest idea of what was going through Glenn's mind. This is a place to honor the memory of a bright light that was extinguished all too soon.
And to Glenn, we sincerely hope you rest in
peace. You are in our thoughts, prayers, memories, and hearts. I, for one, am comforted by the knowledge that at least one angel watching over us has a fantastic sense of humor. You may be gone, but you will not be forgotten! (Not as long as I'm in range of a computer, damn it :P ) Oh, and I hope you know I am totally gonna go all fangirl on your ass when I die, so enjoy the peace while it lasts ;)

NOTE: If you would like to ask me where a specific clip came from because you adore Glenn, for the love of all that rocks, be sure to acknowledge that adoration in your comment. For example, "
RIP GLENN! We miss you!
BTW, BadGirl, what was the clip at (insert time stamp here) from?" is perfectly acceptable. But posting a comment that says, "What's (insert time stamp here) from?" o.0 *blinks repeatedly* That's just rude.
Show our blue-eyed-brogue-boy some love, people! Geesh LOL If you do,
I'll be sure to answer your question
ASAP and steer you in the right direction so you can watch or procure the clip for yourself. If you phrase your request in the second fashion, well...*cocks gun*...I think we understand each other ;)
