The Yampa River is a 250 mi (402 km) long river in northwestern Colorado, of the Southwestern United States. It is a tributary of the Green River, and so contributes into the Colorado River.
The name is derived from the Snake Indians word for the Perideridia plant, which has an edible root. John C. Frémont was among the first to record the name 'Yampah' in entries of his journal from 1843, as he found the plant was particularly abundant in the watershed.
The Yampa River is formed from the confluence of the Bear River and Phillips Creek just east of the town of Yampa in northwestern Colorado in Routt County. From Yampa, Colorado, the river flows north through Steamboat Springs, where it turns abruptly west. Near the small town of Milner the Elk River joins the Yampa which continues west in the plateau region along the north side of the Williams Fork Mountains, past the town of Craig. It is joined by the Little Snake River in Lily Park, in Moffat County, Colorado. Finally, the Yampa meets the Green at Echo Park in Dinosaur National Monument, near the border with Utah.
Steamboat Springs may refer to:
Dinosaur National Monument is a U.S. National Monument located on the southeast flank of the Uinta Mountains on the border between Colorado and Utah at the confluence of the Green and Yampa Rivers. Although most of the monument area is in Moffat County, Colorado, the Dinosaur Quarry 40°26′29″N 109°18′04″W / 40.44139°N 109.30111°W / 40.44139; -109.30111 is located in Utah just to the north of the town of Jensen, Utah.
The nearest communities are Vernal, Utah and Dinosaur, Colorado. This park contains over 800 paleontological sites and has fossils of dinosaurs including Allosaurus, Deinonychus, Abydosaurus (a nearly complete skull, lower jaws and first four neck vertebrae of the specimen DINO 16488 found here at the base of the Mussentuchit Member of the Cedar Mountain Formation is the holotype for the description) and various long-neck, long-tail sauropods. It was declared a National Monument on October 4, 1915.
The rock layer enclosing the fossils is a sandstone and conglomerate bed of alluvial or river bed origin known as the Morrison Formation from the Jurassic Period some 150 million years old. The dinosaurs and other ancient animals were carried by the river system which eventually entombed their remains.
A National monument is a monument constructed in order to commemorate something of national importance such as a war or the country's founding. The term may also refer to a specific monument status, such as a national heritage site, which most national monuments are by reason of their cultural importance rather than age. The National monument aims to represent the nation, and serve as a focus for national identity.
A series of structures or areas deemed to be of national importance and therefore afforded protection by the state are part of a country's cultural heritage. These national heritage sites are often called something different per country and are listed by national conservation societies. Romania has listed at least one plant as a national monument, Nymphaea lotus f. thermalis.

It's approximately 25 minutes from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It's opened all year long but access from Jan 1 - March 31 if by bike, foot, ski, or snow machine. Being a tailwater fishery, it's a pretty nice place to catch 10 - 24 inch trout.

My cousin and I took a shoulder-season trip into the beautiful Flat Tops Wilderness near Steamboat Springs, CO in early June of 2016. We've been camping together for over 20 years, and this trip didn't disappoint. We camped on a pretty heavily used spot between the Bailey Lakes south of Stillwater Reservoir (accessible via Yampa, CO). The site came complete with remnants from many a previous camp, presumable an elk hunting party last fall outfitted with horses, judging by the manure and heavier items left behind: beer cans, two fire grates, some firewood, a mason's jar, paracord, and a Spyderco knife. It felt a little bit like a survival show! It was truly a beautiful spot, though. It's not tough to see why it would be popular. Andrew was testing his classic Jansport external frame...

http://www.yspecial.com Tom and I fished Yampa River. We got tired of catching trout after 3 hrs and went to the lakes on previous video. The flow was very low as you can see but having the right flies paid off again. This is why I go play golf and work on the game on my day off, not much challenge left on trout fly fishing. We didn't take all the fish photos (brook trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, cuttbow and white fish) but more videos on this trip. Thanks for watching.

Otis:
Did I really take her and keep her with me?
Cover her face up so she couldn't breathe?
Cut her eyeballs out so she couldn't see?
I still feel like she is looking at me.
Brought her to the basement and took off her clothes
Did I do the right thing?
God only knows!
Chorus x 4:
Maybe I was only wondering if I could open up your body
Take your heart out and consume
("God only knows!" throughout chorus)
Otis:
Am I really like this? Is this really me?
Am I really the person I want to be?
Is it this life that has created me?
Am I a product of society?
Did I really eat pills cause everything's fucked?!
Can I fall asleep and just never wake up?!!
Chorus x 4:
Maybe I was only wondering if I could open up your body
Take your heart out and consume
