Bernard Alfred "Jack" Nitzsche (22 April 1937 – 25 August 2000) was a musician, arranger, producer, songwriter, and film score composer. He first came to prominence in the late 1950s as the right-hand-man of producer Phil Spector, and went on to work with the Rolling Stones, Neil Young and others. He also worked extensively in film scores, winning a song of the year Oscar in 1983 for co-writing "Up Where We Belong" (from An Officer and a Gentleman.)
Born in Chicago, Illinois, to German immigrant parents, and raised on a farm in Newaygo, Michigan, Nitzsche moved to Los Angeles, California in 1955 with ambitions of becoming a jazz saxophonist. He found work copying musical scores, where he met Sonny Bono, with whom he wrote the song "Needles and Pins" for Jackie DeShannon, later covered by the Searchers and many others. His own instrumental composition "The Lonely Surfer" entered Cash Box August 3, 1963, became a minor hit (#37 Cash Box), as did a big-band swing arrangement of Link Wray's "Rumble".

"Love's Theme" is an instrumental piece recorded by Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra and released in 1973 as an A-Side single. It is one of the few instrumental and purely orchestral singles to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, which it did in early 1974. Billboard ranked it as the No. 3 song for 1974. The piece was included on two albums: 1973's Under the Influence of... Love Unlimited (by the vocal group Love Unlimited) and 1974's Rhapsody in White by Love Unlimited Orchestra.
The recording, with a large string orchestra, wah-wah guitar, and big rhythm, is considered by author Peter Shapiro to be an influence to the disco sound, which would explode in popularity the following year. The song was also popular on the Adult Contemporary chart in the U.S., where the song spent two weeks at #1. It was also used by ABC Sports for many years as the opening theme music for its golf coverage. New York television station WPIX used it as the closing music for its then-Action News franchise during the mid-1970s. In Canada, the single saw similar success, reaching #1 on the RPM 100 National Singles Chart on March 2, 1974.

Improvisatie "This is the way you make a broken heart" van Willy in aanwezigheid van Jack Nitzsche.
This is the awesomely cool theme ('The Last Race') by Jack Nitzsche from ''Village Of The Giants''. The guitar and definitely the bass guitar are the main attractions on this retro instrumental piece from that era.

Jack Nitzsche did the soundtrack for the 1981 movie Cutter's Way, but no soundtrack album was ever released. You can only hear this song by watching the movie. This first verse is the only part not obscured by dialogue. The photo is from a 1981 interview.
