Easter Sunday 2016 - We were driving from Cotgrave in Nottinghamshire to Grantham in Lincolnshire via Newark. Behind me leaving Cotgrave was a VW Scirocco TDI. On the entry slip-road to the A46 I accelerated hard up to 70mph. The lady driving the VW behind me was possibly a little mentally disturbed, or possibly angry with something in her personal life - who knows? We joined the A46 and she pulled level with me, looking in our car - there is no way she couldn't have seen our 16 month-old baby and 10 year-old son sat in the back. Obviously needing to release a little anger, the fun began! She stayed behind, tailgating so close I think she thought she was a BTCC driver slipstreaming! I didn't really want to race so I remained in lane 1 so she could overtake - at 70 she could quite easily have done so. She didn't want to. Nor at 60. Nor at 50. Nor at 4 - she just clung on to my backside, flashing and swerving. Finally at Newark, I lost her at a roundabout - I simply went round it, missing our exit until the next turn. At last I thought she'd gone and we could continue our journey. I thought wrong. Due to traffic I caught her up. We stayed behind her, until she realised it was us and decided to help test my ABS on several occasions. In the end, I'd had enough of this silly game and overtook her when it was safe to do so - she was only driving 40mph on a 60mph road. She was obviously a little unhappy with this, and went back to slip-streaming and zig-zagging......after a time she behaved herself and rejoined the human race. To the woman driving - I suggest you seek anger therapy. We survived - the next time they might not, and neither might you.
