Perlé

Perlé (Luxembourgish: Pärel, German: Perl) is a small town in the commune of Rambrouch, in western Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 612.

Perlé was a commune in the canton of Redange until 1 January 1979, when it was merged with the communes of Arsdorf, Bigonville, and Folschette to form the new commune of Rambrouch. The law creating Rambrouch was passed on 27 July 1978.

Perl

Perl is a family of high-level, general-purpose, interpreted, dynamic programming languages. The languages in this family include Perl 5 and Perl 6.

Though Perl is not officially an acronym, there are various backronyms in use, the most well-known being "Practical Extraction and Reporting Language". Perl was originally developed by Larry Wall in 1987 as a general-purpose Unix scripting language to make report processing easier. Since then, it has undergone many changes and revisions. Perl 6, which began as a redesign of Perl 5 in 2000, eventually evolved into a separate language. Both languages continue to be developed independently by different development teams and liberally borrow ideas from one another.

The Perl languages borrow features from other programming languages including C, shell script (sh), AWK, and sed. They provide powerful text processing facilities without the arbitrary data-length limits of many contemporary Unix commandline tools, facilitating easy manipulation of text files. Perl 5 gained widespread popularity in the late 1990s as a CGI scripting language, in part due to its unsurpassedregular expression and string parsing abilities.

Overview

It is situated on the right bank of the river Moselle, on the border with Luxembourg and France, approx. 25 km southeast of Luxembourg (city). It is joined by a bridge across the Moselle River with Schengen in Luxembourg and by a second bridge between Nennig and Remich. A fine Roman mosaic has been found in the village Nennig, part of the municipality of Perl.

The municipality Perl can claim itself since more than 250 years as a school place. Oldest records about school teaching and school buildings date back to the year 1743.The Schengen Lyzeum Perl is the first cross-border grammar school which offers the German and Luxembourg diploma.

Main sights

Roman mosaic floor

The Roman mosaic in Nennig with a size of 160m², is the largest mosaic north of the Alps. It was rebuilt in 1874 and restored in 1960. The mosaic is with its 15,65 m x 10,30 m large, ornamental decorated surface a gem and exceeds all mosaics, which were found in the Moselle region in Roman palaces and mansions so far.

Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2

Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2, later released as Dance Dance Revolution FullFull Party (ダンスダンスレボリューション フルフル♪パーティー, Dansu Dansu Reboryūshon FuruFuru Pātī) in Japan, was announced by Konami on May 15, 2008 as part of the 10th anniversary of Dance Dance Revolution celebration. Hottest Party 2 features the same gameplay as the first Hottest Party and introduces new gameplay modes, gimmicks, characters and graphical enhancements. The game also features an all new soundtrack featuring licensed music from the past four decades as well as new Konami Originals. Hottest Party 2 was released on September 16, 2008 in North America. A teaser site for the Japanese release was launched on December 9, 2008 featuring new gameplay footage from the game.

Lecture 21

Lecture 21 (aka 'Lezione 21' 'Lesson 21') is a 2008 British-Italian film written and directed by Alessandro Baricco and starring John Hurt, Noah Taylor and Leonor Watling. The film is in English.

The film is set in 1824, 1997 and 2007 and tells the tale of a Professor (John Hurt) delivering a lecture about a musician (Noah Taylor) coming to a remote village in the mountains to better understand Beethoven's 9th symphony before he dies. The film is presented as a documentary, as Leonor Watling and her friends recall the lesson, the audience views what happens as though it were real. The lesson is interspersed with documentary-style interviews of a variety of musicians, who provide a secondary narration.

It also features Clive Russell, Matthew T. Reynolds, Daniel Tuite, Andy Gathergood, Rasmus Hardiker, Michael Jibson and Natalia Tena.

It had its North American premiere at the Miami International Film Festival in 2009.

Reception

The film received generally positive reviews from critics, with praise mostly focusing on its cinematography. It currently holds a 100% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 1 review and a 57% audience score based on 402 reviews (as of September 2015), together indicating generally mixed reviews. It is not listed on Metacritic.

Konami announced that Dance Dance Revolution will feature at least 30 licensed songs along with their original music videos and artwork, and at least 20 original tracks by Konami's in-house musicians. It was also announced that there would be at least 150 songs available as downloadable content for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions at launch.

The music of Dance Dance Revolution is mostly North American pop and rock hits from past and present.
