Quest is an American magazine.

History

Quest was founded in 1986 by Heather Cohane as a real estate magazine for "Manhattan Properties & Country Estates". In 1995, Meigher Communications, which already owned Family Health, Garden Design, and Saveur purchased Quest. Today, Quest Media publishes Quest, Quest Greenwich Polo, and the quarterly fashion magazine Q.

Content

Quest's target audience includes both first and second generation readers, those who helped launch the magazine, and those who grew up on it. The magazine showcases New York's most elegant charities, parties, and families, both past and present. Each edition is themed, including the "The 400", "Arts and Culture", "Fall Fashion", and "Holiday" issues. The magazine also publishes David Patrick Columbia's "New York Social Diary", a monthly chronicle of society circuit parties. Contributors have included Dominick Dunne, David Halberstam, Liz Smith, Taki Theodoracopulos, Michael Thomas, and photographers Slim Aarons and Harry Benson.

Quest (ship)

Quest, a low-powered, schooner-rigged steamship that sailed from 1917 until sinking in 1962, is best known as the polar exploration vessel of the Shackleton-Rowett Expedition of 1921-1922. It was aboard this vessel that Sir Ernest Shackleton died on 5 January 1922 while the vessel was in harbour in South Georgia. Prior to and after the Shackleton-Rowett Expedition, Quest operated in commercial service as a seal-hunting vessel or sealer. Quest was also the primary expedition vessel of the British Arctic Air Route Expedition to the east coast of the island of Greenland in 1930-1931.

Quest was 111 feet (34 m) in length, had a beam of 24 feet (7.3 m), and drew 12 feet (3.7 m). The vessel has been variously rated at 209 and 214 gross register tons, possibly due to the 1924 refit described below.

Shackleton-Rowett Expedition

Quest was originally built in Risør, Norway in 1917 as the wooden-hulled sealer Foca I or Foca II. She was the polar expedition vessel of the Shackleton-Rowett Expedition of 1921-1922. The vessel was renamed Quest by Lady Emily Shackleton, wife of expedition leader Ernest Shackleton. At the expense of expedition financier John Quiller Rowett, Quest was refitted for the expedition with modifications overseen by sailing master Frank Worsley, including re-rigging and the addition of a deckhouse. Shackleton was a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron, and so for this voyage Quest bore the RYS suffix and flew the White Ensign.

Quest Corporation

Quest Corporation (クエスト) was a Japanese video game company founded in 1988. They were originally known as Bothtec, which had developed The Scheme, a Metroidvania-style open world action role-playing game featuring music by Yuzo Koshiro, that same year.

Quest is best known for its critically acclaimed tactical role-playing game series Ogre Battle. In 1995, key members Yasumi Matsuno, Hiroshi Minagawa, and Akihiko Yoshida left Quest to join Square, where they developed Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story, and have worked on Final Fantasy XII as part of Square Enix. In 2002, Quest was purchased by Square; although the purchase reunited some of Quest's developers with their former colleagues, it likely signaled the end of the Ogre Saga franchise as at Square Enix the former Quest staff continued to work on the Final Fantasy Tactics sequels Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 while the Ogre Saga creator Yasumi Matsuno left the company in 2005. Matsuno later reunited with his former team to help design and direct the PSP remake of Tactics Ogre on a freelance basis.

Dream

Dreams are successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur usually involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not definitively understood, though they have been a topic of scientific speculation, as well as a subject of philosophical and religious interest, throughout recorded history. The scientific study of dreams is called oneirology.

Dreams mainly occur in the rapid-eye movement (REM) stage of sleep—when brain activity is high and resembles that of being awake. REM sleep is revealed by continuous movements of the eyes during sleep. At times, dreams may occur during other stages of sleep. However, these dreams tend to be much less vivid or memorable.

The length of a dream can vary; they may last for a few seconds, or approximately 20–30 minutes. People are more likely to remember the dream if they are awakened during the REM phase. The average person has three to five dreams per night, and some may have up to seven; however, most dreams are immediately or quickly forgotten. Dreams tend to last longer as the night progresses. During a full eight-hour night sleep, most dreams occur in the typical two hours of REM.

Dream (TV series)

Dream (Hangul: 드림) is a 2009 South Korean television series that follows the lives of a sports agent and K-1 fighters. Starring Joo Jin-mo, Kim Bum and Son Dam-bi (in her acting debut), it aired on SBS from July 27 to September 29, 2009 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55 for 20 episodes.

Plot

Nam Jae-il is a successful sports agent with some famous clients, but when one of his baseball stars gets involved in a drug case, he loses everything. But when the miserable Nam befriends former pickpocket and aspiring K-1 fighter Lee Jang-seok, and tomboyish taebo instructor Park So-yeon, he decides to regain his glory by making Lee a star.

Dream (2008 film)

Dream (Hangul: 비몽; RR: Bimong; MR: Pimong) is a 2008 South Korean film directed by Kim Ki-duk.

It is the fifteenth feature film by the director.

Plot

Jin awakes from a dream where he causes a traffic accident to find that the accident actually took place. The police suspect a woman, Ran, though she denies any involvement as she was asleep the whole time. It transpires that while Jin dreams, Ran acts out those dreams in her sleep.

Dream was released in South Korea on 9 October 2008, and on its opening weekend was ranked sixth at the box office with 39,042 admissions. As of 16 November, the film had received a total of 88,482 admissions, and grossed a total of $411,549.

Dreams (Neil Diamond album)

Dreams is the thirty-first studio album by Neil Diamond. It was produced by Diamond and released by Columbia Records in 2010. The album contains cover versions of popular songs that Diamond claims in the liner notes are among his favorites. Among them is "I'm a Believer", which he wrote for The Monkees back in 1966.Dreams ranked at number eight on the Billboard 200 chart.
