The Order of the Temples of the East was originally founded as an offshoot of the Masons, kind of like the Stonecutters but without Steve Gutenberg. But it underwent radical changes when an occult magician known as the Great Beast, Aleister Crowley, took over the leadership. Five) Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn. This is yet another occult group that grew out of the Masonic and Rosicrucian traditions, but with a much stronger emphasis on ritual magic like spellcasting, astrology, astral travel, crystal balls and potions. One) The Black Hand. This secret military society in the Balkans was formed in 1911 with the aim of liberating the Serbian people from Austro-Hungarian rule. Their half-baked plan was to assassinate the Archduke Franz Ferdinand (yes, like that Franz Ferdinand), who was the heir to the Austrian throne, assuming that this would initiate a war between Austria and Serbia. The first two assassination attempts with a car bomb failed to injure the Archduke and his wife and they managed to escape.

JFK was actually talking about current events of the cold war and how nontraditional enemies were gaining information on how the US was battling this war. In this speech JFK actually points out "the need for far greater "official" secrecy"...as well as "the need for a far greater public information". JFK admits "I have no easy answer to the dilemma that I have posed," but also states, "and would not seek to impose it if I had one." This can be both cool, and very unsettling because then we realize that perhaps there are more things out of our control than we thought, like voting. When we find out that opposing members of political parties are part of the same secret society, we can’t help but raise any eyebrow. The concept of secret societies have been fictionalized in both books and movies, such as the Priory of Sion in Dan Brown’s “Da Vinci Code” book. However, there is speculation and of course, conspiracy theories, that imply that the Priory of Sion actually exists but that leaders came forward to deny its existence in order to save face. Sometimes secret societies can infiltrate even the church. For example, the group Opus Dei is an organization of the Catholic Church. Little is known about what goes on during these meetings, but people speculate that major world decisions are made in these meetings, as well as arranging who is going to be the next Pope while the current one is alive and well. Then there are not-so-secret societies that tend to disturb a large amount of people, such as the Bilderberg Group. While it is well publicized that these meetings are going to happen, they are top secret. Politicians and world leaders all over the world get together and talk about current events. But no one, not even the media is allowed inside. If these people are talking about world events that are relevant to us, then what is the big secret? There have been speculations that major wars and attacks are planned, and negotiations regarding the economy are arranged during these meetings. So, this makes us all wonder, how much control do we really have as commoners? Speaking of politics, numerous politicians, including a few Presidents, are members of a student club at Yale University called the Skull & Bones. Okay, being a part of a student organization is fairly innocent, but when so many people involved in our world decisions in terms of politics and budget are involved, one must wonder what exactly goes on in these meetings. Were some of the major decisions involving the United States all part of a plan devised by some college students? The world will never know. Of course, you can’t talk about secret societies without talking about the Freemasons. There is everything you would want in a secret society including secret handshakes, robes, hierarchy, and locations all over the world. If you’re a Freemason, all the other Freemasons around are obligated to help you should you ever find yourself in need. There are even rumors that the Freemasons have immense influence over politics and control a lot of the major decisions that are made today. For more secret societies, be sure to watch the video.
