Ass may refer to:
ASS may stand for:
Taylor Mead's Ass (1964) is a film by Andy Warhol featuring Taylor Mead, consisting entirely of a shot of Mead's buttocks, and filmed at The Factory.
According to Watson's Factory Made: Warhol and the Sixties, Taylor Mead had achieved a degree of fame that "inspired a backlash." One example was a letter to the editors at The Village Voice in August 1964 which complained about "films focusing on Taylor Mead's ass for two hours." Mead replied in a letter to the publication that no such film was found in the archives, but "we are rectifying this undersight." Two days later, Warhol shot the "sixty-minute opus that consisted entirely of Taylor Mead's Ass," during which Mead first exhibits a variety of movement, then appears to "shove a variety of objects up his ass." The film was Mead's last for Warhol "for more than three years", at the end of 1964, "Mead felt betrayed by Warhol for not showing the film."
The film was described as "seventy-six seriocomic minutes of this poet/actor's buttocks absorbing light, attention, debris" by Wayne Koestenbaum, in Art Forum. In his book, Andy Warhol, Koestenbaum writes "Staring at his cleft moon for 76 minutes, I begin to understand its abstractions: high-contrast lighting conscripts the ass into being a figure for whiteness itself, particularly when the ass merges with the blank leader at each reel's end. The buttocks, seen in isolation, seem explicitly double: two cheeks, divided in the centre by a dark line. The bottom's double structure recalls Andy's two-paneled paintings . . . "
Açu (or Assu) is a municipality (município) in the state of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil. The population is 57,292 (2015 est.) in an area of 1303 km². The Barragem Armando Ribeiro Gonçalves, a reservoir on the Piranhas River, is partly located in the municipality.
Bomber is a 1982 comedy film directed by Michele Lupo, featuring Bud Spencer and Kallie Knoetze.
Bud Graziano said "Bomber" is a former heavyweight boxing champion who retired to private life on a ship. Jerry Calà is instead a Lombard punter who finds himself always in trouble and one day gets really big. In fact, he unwittingly sets himself against a group of thugs who answer only to the orders of a new boxing champion who is making the rounds in the area with his victories. Even Bomber collides later with this sample name Rosco. So Bomber, suddenly awakened his passion for boxing, opening a gym for amateurs and begins to train the promising young George. Below Bomber organizes meetings which also participates Rosco which, being too strong, knocks the young George. After so many other battles, Bomber is on the verge of losing everything he has slowly and painstakingly put together and so decides to confront himself in combat Rosco.
Bomber is a 1941 American short documentary film written by Carl Sandburg. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short.
It showed aspects of the assembly of B-26 Marauders at the Glenn L. Martin Company plant in Baltimore, Maryland.
Bomber is a novel written by Len Deighton and published in the United Kingdom in 1970. It is the fictionalised account of the events of 31 June [sic] 1943 in which an RAF bombing raid on the Ruhr area of western Germany goes wrong. In each chapter, the plot is advanced by seeing the progress of the day through the eyes of protagonists on both sides of the conflict.
Bomber was the first novel to be written on a word processor, the IBM MT/ST.
Sam Lambert is an experienced RAF pilot based at an East Anglian bomber station. He has flown almost fifty bombing missions over Germany since the start of the war. As he nears his tour's end, he is developing signs of exhaustion. The stress of flying is exacerbated by a plot device similar to that found in From Here to Eternity. Lambert is an accomplished cricketer and the station commander needs his participation to assure victory against a rival. Lambert's refusals to do so put him at odds with the station commander, an ambitious and unscrupulous flight lieutenant, who seeks to force him out of flying by individually taking Lambert's best crewmen and replacing them with poor performers (this chimes with another war movie, Twelve O'Clock High). At the same time, his crew revere him and believe that he is the one factor that will ensure their survival. RAF Bomber Command is organising a large raid on Krefeld. We join the bomber crews at rest and in preparation for the ordeal. The men, their planes, weapons, responsibilities, attitudes, thoughts and fears are described in great detail with minute historical accuracy. There are frequent references to weather conditions, meteorological phenomena and forecasts that add to the foreboding in the plot.
