Harriet, Lola and I are taking a walk through the historic market town of Ludlow in Shropshire.
Ludlow is a market town in Shropshire, England, 28 miles (45 km) south of Shrewsbury and 23 miles (37 km) north of Hereford via the main A49 road, which bypasses the town. With a population of approximately 11,000, Ludlow is the largest town in south Shropshire. The town is significant in the history of the Welsh Marches and neighbouring Wales.

Beautiful Places In The Shropshire Hills//We are back at exploring the most beautiful places in the UK and although we live right by the Shropshire border, we haven't been to the Shropshire Hills before. What can we say? Absolutely stunning. We first went to beautiful Stokesay Castle which not many people have on their radar but it's a must see. And then we went to enjoy the breathtaking views towards Carding Mill Valley and its Long Mynd Ponies. Definitely a place to go back in spring to go for amazing hikes. We fell in love with another place and hope you do too should you visit. Oh and by the way: We stumbled upon an antiques shop in Church Stretton hahah.

Today I am exploring the market town of Shrewsbury from a newcomer's perspective and imagining that I have travelled in by rail. What might I find.
Shrewsbury is a market town whose centre has a largely unspoilt medieval street plan and over 660 listed buildings, including several examples of timber framing from the 15th and 16th centuries. Shrewsbury Castle, a red sandstone fortification, and Shrewsbury Abbey, a former Benedictine monastery, were founded in 1074 and 1083 respectively by the Norman Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery. The town is the birthplace of Charles Darwin. Horticulture remains popular, and the Shrewsbury Flower Show is one of the largest horticultural events in England.

In this video the travel turtles visit Bridgnorth, a historical town in Shopshire, England. The River Severn splits it into a High Town and a Low Town, both of which we shot for this video. The earliest historical reference to the town in 895, and was originally called Brigge, Brug and Bruges. We visit here every year to enjoy some of the beautiful views, British culture and good food on a yearly basis.

Hadley, Shropshire
Coordinates: 52°42′14″N 2°28′52″W / 52.704°N 2.481°W / 52.704; -2.481
Hadley is a part of the new town of Telford in the borough of Telford and Wrekin and the ceremonial county of Shropshire, England.
Hadley is about 3 miles (5 km) north-west of Telford Town Centre, and is in the civil parish of Hadley and Leegomery (previously called simply "Hadley"). The population of the civil parish mentioned at the 2011 census was 14,166. It neighbours Wellington, a market town also part of Telford, and that town's two colleges of Telford College of Arts and Technology (TCAT) and New College (NC), all to the west of Hadley. Ketley is immediately to the south of Hadley.
Len Murray, Baron Murray of Epping Forest, trade union leader, was born at Hadley in 1922. On 13 September 1919, Harry Patch, who became last surviving British combat soldier of World War I married at Hadley his first wife, Ada Billington, who died in 1976.

Shropshire
Shropshire (/ˈʃrɒpʃər/ or /ˈʃrɒpʃɪər/; alternatively Salop; abbreviated, in print only, Shrops; demonym Salopian /səˈloʊpjən/) is a county in the West Midlands of England. It borders Powys and Wrexham in Wales to the west and north-west, Cheshire to the north, Staffordshire to the east, Worcestershire to the south-east and Herefordshire to the south. Shropshire Council was created in 2009, a unitary authority taking over from the previous county council and five district councils. The borough of Telford and Wrekin has been a separate unitary authority since 1998 but continues to be included in the ceremonial county.
The county's population and economy is centred on five towns: the county town of Shrewsbury, which is culturally and historically important and is located close to the centre of the county;Telford, a new town in the east which was constructed around a number of older towns, most notably Wellington, Dawley and Madeley, which is today the most populous; and Oswestry in the north-west, Bridgnorth just to the south of Telford, and Ludlow in the south. The county has many market towns, including Whitchurch in the north, Newport north-east of Telford and Market Drayton in the north-east of the county.

Shropshire sheep
The Shropshire breed of domestic sheep originated from the hills of Shropshire, and North Staffordshire, England, during the 1840s. The breeders in the area used the local horned black-faced sheep and crossed them with a few breeds of white-faced sheep (Southdown, Cotswold, and Leicester). This produced a medium-sized polled (hornless) sheep that produced good wool and meat. In 1855 the first Shropshires were imported into the United States (Virginia). This breed is raised primarily for meat.
1800s
In 1859 the breed was officially recognized by the Royal Agricultural Society as being a distinct breed. The popularity of the Shropshire breed grew rapidly in England, and in 1882 Shropshire breeders founded the Shropshire Sheep Breeders' Association and Flock Book Society, the world's first such society for sheep. The same year the Society published the first Flock Book, a record of sheep bred and their breeders. The Society still survives, and still publishes a Flock Book annually.

Beautiful Places In The Shropshire Hills//We are back at exploring the most beautiful places in the UK and although we live right by the Shropshire border, we haven't been to the Shropshire Hills before. What can we say? Absolutely stunning. We first went to beautiful Stokesay Castle which not many people have on their radar but it's a must see. And then we went to enjoy the breathtaking views towards Carding Mill Valley and its Long Mynd Ponies. Definitely a place to go back in spring to go for amazing hikes. We fell in love with another place and hope you do too should you visit. Oh and by the way: We stumbled upon an antiques shop in Church Stretton hahah.

Today I am exploring the market town of Shrewsbury from a newcomer's perspective and imagining that I have travelled in by rail. What might I find.
Shrewsbury is a market town whose centre has a largely unspoilt medieval street plan and over 660 listed buildings, including several examples of timber framing from the 15th and 16th centuries. Shrewsbury Castle, a red sandstone fortification, and Shrewsbury Abbey, a former Benedictine monastery, were founded in 1074 and 1083 respectively by the Norman Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery. The town is the birthplace of Charles Darwin. Horticulture remains popular, and the Shrewsbury Flower Show is one of the largest horticultural events in England.

Moving the sheep from one Shropshire field to another to graze they regularly fill the lane in front of the home of Eileen and Anthony Sargeant. The only thing is that they love ivy - and we have some ivy trained up the wall around the parking area which they did once devastate on their way past the house.

I'm Montana Jones.
Apparently I am FARMED and dangerous...
But I am not a criminal. I'm a shepherd, farmer and writer who has been preserving rare breed Shropshire sheep for the last 12 years, and farming various other heritage breeds and vegetables for the last 30.
Then, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) descended ...uninvited... into my life, onto my farm, and forever changed the course of both. They killed my beautiful ewes and their unborn lambs to find out if they were healthy. They were.
Now they are dead.
The CFIA and Minister of Agriculture ignored over 5,000 people who signed a petition to stop the killing. Their massacre of my rare genetics resulted in the Shropshire population falling to fewer than 80 heritage females left in all of Canada.
The domino effect since they appeared has been devastating, it's been a downward spiral from their first invasion. I keep telling myself "There are worse things", and hang on.
Now the CFIA has charged myself, raw milk activist farmer Michael Schmidt and 2 others with numerous criminal charges including conspiracy, all for allegedly trying to save Canada's heritage sheep.
I now have no income, no transportation, and am battling depression and post traumatic stress. I'm facing foreclosure and an astonishing $100,000. dollar legal defense fee for the upcoming criminal trial.
If convicted, I face up to 12 YEARS IN JAIL and fines of $1.5 million.
It's not easy to admit, but pride aside—I need help.
It's up to all of us to change unreasonable policies that prevent our food and farming freedom and destroy our agricultural biodiversity. We must protect our heritage breeds, our heirloom seeds, my farm...other small farms.

Beautiful Places In The Shropshire Hills//We are back at exploring the most beautiful places in the UK and although we live right by the Shropshire border, we haven't been to the Shropshire Hills before. What can we say? Absolutely stunning. We first went to beautiful Stokesay Castle which not many people have on their radar but it's a must see. And then we went to enjoy the breathtaking views towards Carding Mill Valley and its Long Mynd Ponies. Definitely a place to go back in spring to go for amazing hikes. We fell in love with another place and hope you do too should you visit. Oh and by the way: We stumbled upon an antiques shop in Church Stretton hahah.

Today I am exploring the market town of Shrewsbury from a newcomer's perspective and imagining that I have travelled in by rail. What might I find.
Shrewsbury is a market town whose centre has a largely unspoilt medieval street plan and over 660 listed buildings, including several examples of timber framing from the 15th and 16th centuries. Shrewsbury Castle, a red sandstone fortification, and Shrewsbury Abbey, a former Benedictine monastery, were founded in 1074 and 1083 respectively by the Norman Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery. The town is the birthplace of Charles Darwin. Horticulture remains popular, and the Shrewsbury Flower Show is one of the largest horticultural events in England.

Coordinates: 52°42′14″N 2°28′52″W / 52.704°N 2.481°W / 52.704; -2.481
Hadley is a part of the new town of Telford in the borough of Telford and Wrekin and the ceremonial county of Shropshire, England.
Hadley is about 3 miles (5 km) north-west of Telford Town Centre, and is in the civil parish of Hadley and Leegomery (previously called simply "Hadley"). The population of the civil parish mentioned at the 2011 census was 14,166. It neighbours Wellington, a market town also part of Telford, and that town's two colleges of Telford College of Arts and Technology (TCAT) and New College (NC), all to the west of Hadley. Ketley is immediately to the south of Hadley.
Len Murray, Baron Murray of Epping Forest, trade union leader, was born at Hadley in 1922. On 13 September 1919, Harry Patch, who became last surviving British combat soldier of World War I married at Hadley his first wife, Ada Billington, who died in 1976.

Modern agriculture in the U.S. has normalized the separation of animal agriculture from growing crops, but many producers have found there’s much to be gained from integrating livestock back into cropping systems. Sierra Orchards in Winters, CA has successfully integrated sheep into their organic walnut orchards for several years and has learned many lessons along the way. In this video, join farmer Sean McNamara as he walks us through Sierra Orchards’ integrated sheep in walnuts system.

EPISODE V: The Empire Strikes BAA-ack!!!
It is a period of civil war. Rebel Farmers, striking from a hidden base, have claimed their first victory against the evil Agri-biz Empire.
With no evidence of disease or infection, the Empire descended upon planet Wholearth with an Order of Destruction to cull 41 perfectly healthy, heritage Shropshire sheep.
During the battle, rebel spies managed to rescue 31 Shropshire's from the Empire's ultimate weapon, the SCRAPIE ERADICATION PROGRAM, a devastating plan with enough bureaucracy to wipe out an entire species.
Just when the alliance thought they were safe, the Empire's sinister agents declare a positive infection: A claim reeking of deception and foul play.
In spite of a pending judicial review, and without conclusive evidence or time for impartial review of their findings, the Empire swoops in with an amendment to the original order, naming nine more ewes for depopulation.

I'm Montana Jones.
Apparently I am FARMED and dangerous...
But I am not a criminal. I'm a shepherd, farmer and writer who has been preserving rare breed Shropshire sheep for the last 12 years, and farming various other heritage breeds and vegetables for the last 30.
Then, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) descended ...uninvited... into my life, onto my farm, and forever changed the course of both. They killed my beautiful ewes and their unborn lambs to find out if they were healthy. They were.
Now they are dead.
The CFIA and Minister of Agriculture ignored over 5,000 people who signed a petition to stop the killing. Their massacre of my rare genetics resulted in the Shropshire population falling to fewer than 80 heritage females left in all of Canada.
The domino effect since they appeared has been devastating, it's been a downward spiral from their first invasion. I keep telling myself "There are worse things", and hang on.
Now the CFIA has charged myself, raw milk activist farmer Michael Schmidt and 2 others with numerous criminal charges including conspiracy, all for allegedly trying to save Canada's heritage sheep.
I now have no income, no transportation, and am battling depression and post traumatic stress. I'm facing foreclosure and an astonishing $100,000. dollar legal defense fee for the upcoming criminal trial.
If convicted, I face up to 12 YEARS IN JAIL and fines of $1.5 million.
It's not easy to admit, but pride aside—I need help.
It's up to all of us to change unreasonable policies that prevent our food and farming freedom and destroy our agricultural biodiversity. We must protect our heritage breeds, our heirloom seeds, my farm...other small farms.
This dismal chapter of mine is just a detail—I'm not going to lay down just because I'm cold or broke or steamrollered by government. I am standing up, despite them.
If I lose the farm—they win. And that would be another of their many wrongs.
