Introducing The Movers. Since leaving Blacktop Deluxe last year, I’ve been lucky to hook up with some great new players.
Scott Jeffery – Vocals
Scott is a very experienced singer / frontman - and has worked with bands such as The Blues Busters and Blues Connection, and has shared the stage with bands and musicians such as Little Feat, Wilko Johnson and Larry Miller.
Archie Fugill Guitar / Vocal-
Archie took up playing guitar at the tender age of 6 when inspired by his parents love of 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll. At 16 he was given a copy of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble’s ‘Texas Flood’. Like many guitarists of his generation, after hearing that it was hard-nosed blues, boogie and rock all the way. He’s played in many professional bands and has been fortunate enough to play with many great musicians along the way! He cites SRV and Chuck Berry as his main influences and always gives everything when he plays.
Archie has played with Bill Smith and the Fabulous Bluescasters all around the South West and top function funk band the Man From Funkle, who played all over the UK. He has shared stages with the like of Larry Miller, Wilko and Norman Watt-Roy. He has also worked in bands with members of the Nashville Teens - they of the 1964 Tobacco Road fame and played with Gary Moore's brother Cliff Moore. Archie has also been in bands with members of the that'll be the day touring show, and the bands of Tulisa and Nadine Coyle.
Alan Williams Drums-
Alan Williams is a very experienced drummer he has worked many bands over his extensive career including Medicine Train &Point Blank. His energetic but rock solid style is the bedrock of the band.
Tim Chapple – Bass -
Tim Chapple has worked with many bands during his career, including Blacktop Deluxe (sharing stages with Walter Trout, Wishbone Ash, Focus and many more) Devils Creek (Abertillery Blues Festival and more), Handbrake Turn, The SGT Project, Union Jane, Zambula, The Any Excuse Soul-stars, Bride's Mother, The Vendettas, The Rage, The Oven Ready Angels and more. He has worked in Europe and across the UK, and performed on radio and TV.

Pub
A pub /pʌb/, or public house is, despite its name, a private house, but is called a public house because it is licensed to sell alcohol to the general public. It is a drinking establishment in Britain,Ireland,New Zealand, Australia,Canada, Denmark and New England. In many places, especially in villages, a pub can be the focal point of the community. The writings of Samuel Pepys describe the pub as the heart of England.
The history of pubs can be traced back to Roman taverns, through the Anglo-Saxon alehouse to the development of the modern tied house system in the 19th century.
Historically, pubs have been socially and culturally distinct from cafés, bars and German beer halls. Most pubs offer a range of beers, wines, spirits, and soft drinks and snacks. Traditionally the windows of town pubs were of smoked or frosted glass to obscure the clientele from the street but from the 1990s onwards, there has been a move towards clear glass, in keeping with brighter interiors.
The owner, tenant or manager (licensee) of a pub is properly known as the "pub landlord". The term publican (in historical Roman usage a public contractor or tax farmer) has come into use since Victorian times to designate the pub landlord. Known as "locals" to regulars, pubs are typically chosen for their proximity to home or work, the availability of a particular beer, as a place to smoke (or avoid it), hosting a darts team, having a pool or snooker table, or appealing to friends.

North Yorkshire
North Yorkshire is a non-metropolitan or shire and ceremonial county in England. It is located primarily in the region of Yorkshire and the Humber but partly in the region of North East England.
Created by the Local Government Act 1972, it covers an area of 8,654 square kilometres (3,341 sq mi), making it the largest county in England. The majority of the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors lie within North Yorkshire's boundaries, and around 40% of the county is covered by National Parks. The largest settlements are York (153,717), Middlesbrough (138,400), Harrogate (73,576) and Scarborough (61,749); the county town, Northallerton, has a population of 16,832.
Divisions and environs
The area under the control of the county council, or shire county, is divided into a number of local government districts: Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough and Selby.
The Department for Communities and Local Government considered reorganising North Yorkshire County Council's administrative structure by abolishing the seven district councils and the county council to create a North Yorkshire unitary authority. The changes were planned to be implemented no later than 1 April 2009. This was rejected on 25 July 2007 so the County Council and District Council structure will remain.

Scott Jeffery – Vocals
Scott is a very experienced singer / frontman - and has worked with bands such as The Blues Busters and Blues Connection, and has shared the stage with bands and musicians such as Little Feat, Wilko Johnson and Larry Miller.
Archie Fugill Guitar / Vocal-
Archie took up playing guitar at the tender age of 6 when inspired by his parents love of 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll. At 16 he was given a copy of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble’s ‘Texas Flood’. Like many guitarists of his generation, after hearing that it was hard-nosed blues, boogie and rock all the way. He’s played in many professional bands and has been fortunate enough to play with many great musicians along the way! He cites SRV and Chuck Berry as his main influences and always gives everything when he plays.
Archie has played with Bill Smith and the Fabulous Bluescasters all around the South West and top function funk band the Man From Funkle, who played all over the UK. He has shared stages with the like of Larry Miller, Wilko and Norman Watt-Roy. He has also worked in bands with members of the Nashville Teens - they of the 1964 Tobacco Road fame and played with Gary Moore's brother Cliff Moore. Archie has also been in bands with members of the that'll be the day touring show, and the bands of Tulisa and Nadine Coyle.
Alan Williams Drums-
Alan Williams is a very experienced drummer he has worked many bands over his extensive career including Medicine Train &Point Blank. His energetic but rock solid style is the bedrock of the band.
Tim Chapple – Bass -

Introducing The Movers. Since leaving Blacktop Deluxe last year, I’ve been lucky to hook up with some great new players.
Scott Jeffery – Vocals
Scott is a very experienced singer / frontman - and has worked with bands such as The Blues Busters and Blues Connection, and has shared the stage with bands and musicians such as Little Feat, Wilko Johnson and Larry Miller.
Archie Fugill Guitar / Vocal-
Archie took up playing guitar at the tender age of 6 when inspired by his parents love of 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll. At 16 he was given a copy of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble’s ‘Texas Flood’. Like many guitarists of his generation, after hearing that it was hard-nosed blues, boogie and rock all the way. He’s played in many professional bands and has been fortunate enough to play with many great musicians along the way! He cites SRV and Chuck Berry as his main influences and always gives everything when he plays.
Archie has played with Bill Smith and the Fabulous Bluescasters all around the South West and top function funk band the Man From Funkle, who played all over the UK. He has shared stages with the like of Larry Miller, Wilko and Norman Watt-Roy. He has also worked in bands with members of the Nashville Teens - they of the 1964 Tobacco Road fame and played with Gary Moore's brother Cliff Moore. Archie has also been in bands with members of the that'll be the day touring show, and the bands of Tulisa and Nadine Coyle.
Alan Williams Drums-
Alan Williams is a very experienced drummer he has worked many bands over his extensive career including Medicine Train &Point Blank. His energetic but rock solid style is the bedrock of the band.
Tim Chapple – Bass -
Tim Chapple has worked with many bands during his career, including Blacktop Deluxe (sharing stages with Walter Trout, Wishbone Ash, Focus and many more) Devils Creek (Abertillery Blues Festival and more), Handbrake Turn, The SGT Project, Union Jane, Zambula, The Any Excuse Soul-stars, Bride's Mother, The Vendettas, The Rage, The Oven Ready Angels and more. He has worked in Europe and across the UK, and performed on radio and TV.

Scott Jeffery – Vocals
Scott is a very experienced singer / frontman - and has worked with bands such as The Blues Busters and Blues Connection, and has shared the stage with bands and musicians such as Little Feat, Wilko Johnson and Larry Miller.
Archie Fugill Guitar / Vocal-
Archie took up playing guitar at the tender age of 6 when inspired by his parents love of 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll. At 16 he was given a copy of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble’s ‘Texas Flood’. Like many guitarists of his generation, after hearing that it was hard-nosed blues, boogie and rock all the way. He’s played in many professional bands and has been fortunate enough to play with many great musicians along the way! He cites SRV and Chuck Berry as his main influences and always gives everything when he plays.
Archie has played with Bill Smith and the Fabulous Bluescasters all around the South West and top function funk band the Man From Funkle, who played all over the UK. He has shared stages with the like of Larry Miller, Wilko and Norman Watt-Roy. He has also worked in bands with members of the Nashville Teens - they of the 1964 Tobacco Road fame and played with Gary Moore's brother Cliff Moore. Archie has also been in bands with members of the that'll be the day touring show, and the bands of Tulisa and Nadine Coyle.
Alan Williams Drums-
Alan Williams is a very experienced drummer he has worked many bands over his extensive career including Medicine Train &Point Blank. His energetic but rock solid style is the bedrock of the band.
Tim Chapple – Bass -
Tim Chapple has worked with many bands during his career, including Blacktop Deluxe (sharing stages with Walter Trout, Wishbone Ash, Focus and many more) Devils Creek (Abertillery Blues Festival and more), Handbrake Turn, The SGT Project, Union Jane, Zambula, The Any Excuse Soul-stars, Bride's Mother, The Vendettas, The Rage, The Oven Ready Angels and more. He has worked in Europe and across the UK, and performed on radio and TV.

The single "Sultans of Swing" first broke the US top five early spring 1979 (being a hit a full five months after the album was released there) and then rose to #8 in the British charts. "Water of Love" was also released as a single in some countries, and charted in Australia, reaching #54, and in the Netherlands, reaching #28. In Europe, the album sold four million copies while in the U.S. it sold two million copies.
The album was remastered and released with the rest of the Dire Straits catalogue in 1996 to most of the world excluding the U.S. and on 19 September 2000 in the United States. For 2010 release of an anniversary album is planned. It will be devoted the 30 anniversary of the edition of a vinyl.
The cover image is taken from a painting by Chuck Loyola, while the Dire Straits Fender icon was designed by Geoff Halpern.
A small number of guitars were used on the album by Mark Knopfler. These included a pair of red Fender Stratocasters (one from 1961-serial number #68354 and one from 1961/62-serial number #80470). He played his 1928 National and 1937 National steel guitars on tracks "Water of Love" and "Wild West End", respectively. A black Fender thinline Telecaster was played on "Setting Me Up". Mark and David also played Mark's sunburst Fender Telecaster. There was also an unidentified acoustic guitar used on several tracks.

Nicholas Drain "Nick" Lowe (born 24 March 1949) is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and producer. A noted figure in UK pub rock, power pop and new wave, Lowe has recorded a string of well-reviewed solo albums. Along with vocals, Lowe plays guitar, bass guitar, piano and harmonica. He is best known for his songs "Cruel to Be Kind" (a US Top 40 single) and "(I Love the Sound of) Breaking Glass" (a top 10 UK hit), as well as his production work with Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, and others. Lowe also wrote "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding", a hit for Costello. He lives in Brentford, London, England. Basher: The Best of Nick Lowe is a compilation album, released in 1989.

The stranglers 1979
The Stranglers are an English rock band who emerged via the punk rock scene.
Scoring some 23 UK top 40 singles and 17 UK top 40 albums to date in a career spanning four decades, the Stranglers are one of the longest-surviving and most "continuously successful" bands to have originated in the UK punk scene of the mid to late 1970s. Beginning life as the Guildford Stranglers on 11 September 1974 in Guildford, Surrey,[note 1] they originally built a following within the mid-1970s pub rock scene. While their aggressive, no-compromise attitude identified them as one of the instigators of the UK punk rock scene that followed, their idiosyncratic approach rarely followed any single musical genre and the group went on to explore a variety of musical styles, from new wave, art rock and gothic rock through the sophisticated pop of some of their 1980s output.
They had major mainstream success with their single "Golden Brown". Their other hits include "No More Heroes", "Peaches", "Always the Sun" and "Skin Deep".
The Stranglers' early sound was driven by Jean-Jacques Burnel's melodic bass, but also gave prominence to Dave Greenfield's keyboards. Their early music was also characterised by the growling vocals and sometimes misanthropic lyrics of both Jean-Jacques Burnel and Hugh Cornwell.[1] Over time, their output gradually grew more refined and sophisticated. Summing up their contribution to popular music, critic Dave Thompson later wrote: "From bad-mannered yobs to purveyors of supreme pop delicacies, the group was responsible for music that may have been ugly and might have been crude – but it was never, ever boring."
