"Cadborosaurus willsi" is said by witnesses to resemble a serpent with vertical coils or humps in tandem behind the horse-like head and long neck, with a pair of small elevating front flippers, and either a pair of hind flippers, or a pair of large webbed hind flippers fused to form a large fan-like tail region that provides powerful forward propulsion.
Dr. LeBlond, director of Earth and Ocean Sciences at UBC, and Dr. Blousfield, retired chief Zoologist of the Canadian Museum of Nature, state every elongated animal has been put forward as an explanation for Caddy. These animals include Conger eels, humpback whales, elephant seals, ribbon or oar fish, basking sharks and sea lions. LeBlond and Blousfield state no known creature matches the characteristics found in over 200 sightings collected over a century, noting that Caddy is described as having flippers both anterior and posterior.
In 1943 two police officers, Inspector Robert Owens and Staff Sergeant Jack Russell saw a "huge sea serpent with a horse like head" in Georgia Strait. Later "with a pair of binoculars Sgt. Russell saw that the strange apparition was a huge bull sea lion leading a herd of six sea lions…Their undulations as they swam appeared to form a continuous body, with parts showing at intervals as they surfaced and dived. To the naked eye, the sight perfectly impersonated a sea monster."

I stabilized and increased the contrast of the 2009 video filmed by Kelly Nash of a purported Cadburosaurus in Nushagak Bay, Alaska. The footage is short and is repeated in slow motion as it appeared in Hilstranded.
All rights belong to Kelly Nash, and the footage is from the Discovery Channel.
I think what the Hilstrands were trying to catch may have been a white sturgeon (as Jeremy Wade caught for his episode at Lake Iliamna), but this animal we see here is definitely not a sturgeon.

Welcome to another edition of Rev. Jeff's monster Info. This episode focuses on the Cadborosaurus Willsi or Caddy to you and I off the Oregon and Washington coast of the USA. Cadborosaurus Willsi, nicknamed Caddy, is an alleged sea monster from British Colombian coast of Cadboro Bay. It was described as a long, serpent-like beast with flippers, hair on the neck, and a camel-like head. It could be anywhere from 40 to 70 feet long in length. There have been more than 300 claimed sightings during the past 200 years.

In the cold, dark waters of the Pacific waters off the shore of Canada, lies the sea serpent Cadborosaurus willsi, or "Caddy". The mysterious beast is the stuff of legend with multitudes of differing accounts of its evolution, heritage, and physical attributes. Essentially the "Loch Ness Monster of the Pacific", Caddy's aura of mystery is ever present.
The work is divided into three segments (without break), each capturing an imagined attribute of the creature. The first paints the literal picture of the still water and the bellows of the beast below.
The second section (marked by the change in tempo and lengthy Bassoon solo) is the above the sea image of the serpent swimming. One singular motive is passed throughout the ensemble while continuously being layered over one another. It resembles the single serpentine crest above the water that soon becomes two, then three, etc.
The third and final section is the funk. In many pictures and drawings of the creature, it posses a horse-like mane that is not unlike a Mohawk on your local garage band drummer's head. With this image in mind, the work drives ahead in a youthful almost rebellious manner with the constant impression of funk rhythms and style just beneath the surface of the music.

Born in West Point, New York in 1989, Chris Lamb began moving -- from New York to Kansas to Panama and Korea. Mr. Lamb experienced a great deal of world culture before settling in Fairfax, Virginia. Once in Virginia, he began to study piano and trombone simultaneously. He began formal composition lessons under Christopher Johnston at the Fairfax High School Academy for Communication Arts. From there, Mr. Lamb attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, where he studied under Dr. Christopher Cook. Mr. Lamb is currently pursing a Master of Arts in Composition at the University of North Texas where he studies under Dr. Christopher Moore.

A sea monster is a sea-dwelling, legendary, or mythical creature said to be of immense size with first reported sightings for many centuries. These monsters include dragons, sea-serpents, and multi-armed beasts. The drawings that you see of them usually show them attacking ships. They were a sailor's peril, but are they still a threat today?
We may look back at drawings of these odd looking fish our ancestors have drawn and say, what were they thinking? However, what makes you think our descendants won't look back on us and say the same thing? Despite the rapid development of technology with underwater radars and GPS systems, the saying "Legends never die" can still maintain its validity. There are more then a handful of legendary sea monsters possibly still dwelling in the waters of the Earth today. I can even recall watching a television episode on the History Channel a few weeks back about two scientists searching for a legendary octopus said to be of immense size and in existence for hundreds of years. They haven't found the creature, but they did obtain a number of interesting pictures that can only make the creature's existence more probable.
Sure, we can go on about what may be out there but have we ever stopped and asked ourselves, what was out there? Have we ever captured or accounted for the remains of one of these creatures? The answer is yes.
"Cadborosaurus willsi", aka "Caddy", was a giant sea-serpent who was reportedly living on the Pacific Coast. There have been reports of seeing this creature more than three hundred times in the past two-hundred years.

I stabilized and increased the contrast of the 2009 video filmed by Kelly Nash of a purported Cadburosaurus in Nushagak Bay, Alaska. The footage is short and is repeated in slow motion as it appeared in Hilstranded. All rights belong to Kelly Nash, and the footage is from the Discovery Channel. I think what the Hilstrands were trying to catch may have been a white sturgeon (as Jeremy Wade caught for his episode at Lake Iliamna), but this animal we see here is definitely not a sturgeon. -

Welcome to another edition of Rev. Jeff's monster Info. This episode focuses on the Cadborosaurus Willsi or Caddy to you and I off the Oregon and Washington coast of the USA. Cadborosaurus Willsi, nicknamed Caddy, is an alleged sea monster from British Colombian coast of Cadboro Bay. It was described as a long, serpent-like beast with flippers, hair on the neck, and a camel-like head. It could be anywhere from 40 to 70 feet long in length. There have been more than 300 claimed sightings during the past 200 years. -

In the cold, dark waters of the Pacific waters off the shore of Canada, lies the sea serpent Cadborosaurus willsi, or "Caddy". The mysterious beast is the stuff of legend with multitudes of differing accounts of its evolution, heritage, and physical attributes. Essentially the "Loch Ness Monster of the Pacific", Caddy's aura of mystery is ever present. The work is divided into three segments (without break), each capturing an imagined attribute of the creature. These animals include Conger eels, humpback whales, elephant seals, ribbon or oar fish, basking sharks and sea lions. LeBlond and Blousfield state no known creature matches the characteristics found in over 200 sightings collected over a century, noting that Caddy is described as having flippers both anterior and posterior.
In 1943 two police officers, Inspector Robert Owens and Staff Sergeant Jack Russell saw a "huge sea serpent with a horse like head" in Georgia Strait. Later "with a pair of binoculars Sgt. Russell saw that the strange apparition was a huge bull sea lion leading a herd of six sea lions…Their undulations as they swam appeared to form a continuous body, with parts showing at intervals as they surfaced and dived. To the naked eye, the sight perfectly impersonated a sea monster."

In the cold, dark waters of the Pacific waters off the shore of Canada, lies the sea serpent Cadborosaurus willsi, or "Caddy". The mysterious beast is the stuff of legend with multitudes of differing accounts of its evolution, heritage, and physical attributes. Essentially the "Loch Ness Monster of the Pacific", Caddy's aura of mystery is ever present.
The work is divided into three segments (without break), each capturing an imagined attribute of the creature. The first paints the literal picture of the still water and the bellows of the beast below.
The second section (marked by the change in tempo and lengthy Bassoon solo) is the above the sea image of the serpent swimming. One singular motive is passed throughout the ensemble while continuously being layered over one another. It resembles the single serpentine crest above the water that soon becomes two, then three, etc.
The third and final section is the funk. In many pictures and drawings of the creature, it posses a horse-like mane that is not unlike a Mohawk on your local garage band drummer's head. With this image in mind, the work drives ahead in a youthful almost rebellious manner with the constant impression of funk rhythms and style just beneath the surface of the music.

Born in West Point, New York in 1989, Chris Lamb began moving -- from New York to Kansas to Panama and Korea. Mr. Lamb experienced a great deal of world culture before settling in Fairfax, Virginia. Once in Virginia, he began to study piano and trombone simultaneously. He began formal composition lessons under Christopher Johnston at the Fairfax High School Academy for Communication Arts. From there, Mr. Lamb attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, where he studied under Dr. Christopher Cook. Mr. Lamb is currently pursing a Master of Arts in Composition at the University of North Texas where he studies under Dr. Christopher Moore.

A sea monster is a sea-dwelling, legendary, or mythical creature said to be of immense size with first reported sightings for many centuries. These monsters include dragons, sea-serpents, and multi-armed beasts. The drawings that you see of them usually show them attacking ships. They were a sailor's peril, but are they still a threat today?
We may look back at drawings of these odd looking fish our ancestors have drawn and say, what were they thinking? However, what makes you think our descendants won't look back on us and say the same thing? Despite the rapid development of technology with underwater radars and GPS systems, the saying "Legends never die" can still maintain its validity. There are more then a handful of legendary sea monsters possibly still dwelling in the waters of the Earth today. I can even recall watching a television episode on the History Channel a few weeks back about two scientists searching for a legendary octopus said to be of immense size and in existence for hundreds of years. They haven't found the creature, but they did obtain a number of interesting pictures that can only make the creature's existence more probable.
Sure, we can go on about what may be out there but have we ever stopped and asked ourselves, what was out there? Have we ever captured or accounted for the remains of one of these creatures? The answer is yes.
