Savaiʻi is the largest (area 1700 km2) and highest (Mt Silisili at 1,858 m) island in Samoa and the Samoa Islands chain. The island is the fourth largest in Polynesia, behind the two main islands of New Zealand and the Island of Hawaii.
The island of Savai'i is also referred to by Samoans as Salafai, a classical Samoan term used in oratory and prose. The island is home to 43,142 people (2006 Census) who make up 24% of the country's population. The only township and ferry terminal is Salelologa, the main entry point to the island, situated at the east end of Savai'i. A tar sealed road serves as the one main highway, connecting most of the villages with local buses reaching most settlements.
Savai'i is made up of six itūmālō (political districts). Each district is made up of villages with strong traditional ties of kinship, history, land and matai chief titles. There is also some limited ecotourism development which operates mostly within the villages. The Mau, Samoa's non-violent movement for political independence during colonialism in the early 1900s, had its beginnings on Savai'i with the Mau a Pule movement.
Raymond Paul Mears (born 7 February 1964) is an English woodsman, instructor, businessman, author and TV presenter. His TV appearances cover bushcraft and survival techniques. He is best known for the TV series Ray Mears' Bushcraft, Ray Mears' World of Survival, Extreme Survival, Survival with Ray Mears, Wild Britain with Ray Mears and Ray Mears Goes Walkabout. The name "Ray Mears" is also a trademark used to protect his business operations, particularly those involving the goods and services he offers through his company Woodlore Ltd.
Mears attended Downside Preparatory School in Purley and then Reigate Grammar School, where he was a member of the naval cadre of the combined cadet force. His ambition was to join the Royal Marines, but his hopes of doing so were dashed when he failed the eyesight test. After taking A-levels, Mears briefly worked in an office in the City of London.
In 1983, Mears founded Woodlore, a company that offers Bushcraft-related courses and paraphernalia. It became so successful that it soon led to the trademarking of the name "Ray Mears". Mears first appeared on television in 1994 presenting the BBC series Tracks and then, in 1997, Ray Mears' World of Survival. In 2003, he presented the BBC documentary Ray Mears' Real Heroes of Telemark about the Norwegian heavy water sabotage mission during World War II. While filming a documentary in Wyoming in 2005, Mears was involved in a serious accident. The helicopter in which he and his camera crew were travelling struck the ground during a steep low level turn, and broke apart, rolling to a stop. The fuel tank was ruptured in the accident and escaping fuel covered Mears and the crew. No fire occurred, and Mears was able to escape the wreckage uninjured and assist in the rescue and administer first aid to one of the crew who was badly hurt.
We caught the ferry over to Savaii to spend a few days. There are fales dotted all along the coastline so we thought that the best way to get in and experience the local lifestyle was to actually stay in a traditional fale. We stayed at Tanu Beach Fales and they provided a mattress and mosquito net and we slept right by the waters edge and went to sleep with the sound of the water lapping up on the sand. There is a lot to explore on this huge island and we visit the Saleaula Lava Field, swim with turtles at Satoalepai, throw coconuts in to the blow holes, cross the swinging bridge at Falealupo Canopy Walkway and hang out with some of the locals. You can find beautiful romantic resorts in Savaii and we stayed at Le Lagoto Resort with a elegant mix of traditional and modern decor. As soon ...
me and my companion walking down a little hill after a visit. in the beautiful village of saipipi if for some cool reason you like watching this kind of stuff, CHECK OUT MY PAGE :)
This bus was not washed away because it stopped before the front wheels were pushed over the edge. No one died but it is a very dangerous crossing. A bridge should be here but Savaii is last on Tuilaepe's mind it seems.
Filmed at Neiafu Savaii Samoa by LivahLine & Paula Moimoi Latu - April 2014. Full DVD version contact Alex Pei Aiolupotea - +61432160994 Australia.

Samoa, Savaii, Afu AAu, Olemoe, Falls, Waterfalls: Let's visit the beautiful Afu Aau Waterfall (also known as the Olemoe Fall) which is a spectacular waterfall in south-eastern Savaii that plunges from the rain forest deep into a fresh-water swimming pool. I will access the Fall via a dirt road which is maintained by the local village. The pool is very deep but it gets very shallow towards the outer rim. The fall eventually flows into three other smaller separate falls offering a truly enchanting experience for visitors. Vic Stefanu, vstefanu@yahoo.com

[Hook:]
We up in the hotel so it's going down boo
And I gotta bounce to but you want a round 2
So I turn the lights back off and we're right back on
And I forgot I gotta fly back home 'cause now I'm saying
Where I'd put my passport? Where I'd put my passport?
Where I'd put my passport? Where I'd put my passport?
Where I'd put my passport? Where I'd put my passport?
[Verse 1: XV]
You climb on my cockpit, you at the front of my plane
I watch your clothes take off as soon as I open the lane
We in Nirvana, in the sauna, treat me like Kurt Cobain
And I'm in love like Courtney when you blow out my brains
Sex pistol, watch me load up and aim
I watch you cock that thing back and I just hope that it bang
The way I bite, I bet you like, have you growing your fangs
And now I can't get home and you are only to blame
[Hook]
[Verse 2: XV]
My number on that hotel P card, it was Spring B-R-E-A-K
In D.R where we are, I go up, she go down, I go down, she go up
See-saw, reverse cowgirl like yee-haw, gone and take my tee off
Take your tee off and I hit it like I teed off
In your thighs, I give you Chinese eyes then I knock your chi off
You know I gotta be off 'cause my plane leave soon
And now a nigga can't leave the room 'cause...
[Hook x2]
[Outro:]
We up in the hotel so it's going down boo
And I gotta bounce to where you went around to
So I turn the lights back off and we're right back on
