Plot
Amarnath (Dilip Kumar) is a lawyer and is engaged to Anju (Madhubala), the daughter of a wealthy landowner. However, after he meets a poor girl, Sonia (Nimmi), he rapes her, and refuses to admit it. Sonia also refuses to say who raped her. When her fiance Shankar is killed she is accused of his murder.Anju Rai lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad in a palatial house. She is now of marriageable age, and her dad has arranged her marriage with Advocate Amarnath. Both Anju and Amarnath meet and fall in love with each other. Shortly before their formal engagement, Anju notices a change in Amarnath - as he appears to be drifting further from her. Then he decides to demolish his house and re-built it, and also refuses to go near any Mandir - either alone or in Anju's company. When part of the house collapses, he is injured, but recuperates quickly. It is then the town is set afire with rumors that Amarnath may have sexually molested a village belle named Sonia, who sells milk, lives a poor lifestyle with her widowed dad, cruel step-mother, and is to be married to the village goon, Shankar. Synopsis - Holding a first degree in law; Avinash Kapoor is employed as a lecturer in a college. When he attempt to punish some students for bending the rules; they retaliate by abducting his blind sister, Geeta. Avinash locates them and beat them up; only to learn that he is fired from his job and sentenced to 6 days in jail for contempt of court; after completing his sentence he is unable to locate any job which forces him to re-locate to Bombay; which still does not help. His aggression for cash leads him to deliver a bag to a smuggler named, Mr. Agnihotri; Agnihotri then puts a job proposal to him but he refuses to have any doing with unlawful activities. Later on he is forced to change his mind when he needs money to pay for his mother's medical surgery which Agnihotri provides. After this there is no looking back for Avinash as he continue to climb the ladder working for Agnihotri; Avinash meets and fall in love with a cabaret dancer, Sonia. But Agnihotri's younger brother, Dilip is also fascinated by Sonia; who abducts her and attempt to sexually molest her which forces her to jump to her death from a multi-storied building. Bearing witness to this Avinash loses his cool, locates Dilip and kill him. Avinash is then arrested by the police and his case is called up in the court. On his way to the court he gets a letter stating that Agnihotri is holding his mother and sister as hostages until he confess to killing Sonia and Dilip.

Lata Mangeshkar (
pronunciation ) (born 28 September 1929) is an Indian playback singer, and occasional music-composer. She is one of the best-known and most respected playback singers in India. Mangeshkar's career started in 1942 and has spanned over seven decades. She has recorded songs for over a thousand Hindi films and has sung songs in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages, though primarily in Marathi and Hindi. She is the elder sister of singers Asha Bhosle, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Mangeshkar. She is the second vocalist, after M. S. Subbulakshmi, to have ever been awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.
India's highest award in cinema the Dadasaheb Phalke Award was bestowed her in 1989 by the Government of India.

Dilip Kumar
Dilip Kumar (born Muhammad Yusuf Khan on 11 December 1922) is an Indian film actor also known as Tragedy King, and described as "the ultimate method actor" by Satyajit Ray. He debuted as an actor in the film Jwar Bhata in 1944 produced by Bombay Talkies. His career has spanned over six decades and with over 60 films. He starred in films of a variety of genres such as the romantic Andaz (1949), the swashbuckling Aan (1952), the dramatic Devdas (1955), the comical Azaad (1955), the historical Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and the social Ganga Jamuna (1961).
In 1976, Dilip Kumar took a five-year break from film performances and returned with a character role in the film Kranti (1981) and continued his career playing leading roles in films such as Shakti (1982), Karma (1986) and Saudagar (1991). His last film was Qila (1998).
He is the winner of 9 Filmfare Awards and is the first recipient of Filmfare Best Actor Award (1954). He still holds the record for the most number of Filmfare awards won for that category with 8 wins. Critics acclaimed him among one of the greatest actors in the history of Hindi cinema.

Shakeel Badayuni
Shakeel Badayuni (Hindi: शकील बदायुनी, Urdu: شکیل بدایونی) (3 August 1916 – 20 April 1970) was an Indian Urdu poet, lyricist and songwriter in Hindi films.
Early life
Shakeel Badayuni was born in Badayun, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Mohammed Jamaal Ahmed Sokhta Qadiri, wanted him to have a good career, thus he arranged Arabic, Urdu, Persian, and Hindi tuition for Shakeel at home. His inclination towards poetry was not hereditary like other shayars. One of his distant relatives, Zia-ul-Qadiri Badayuni, was a religious shayar. Shakeel was influenced by him and the contemporary environment of Badayun led him to poetry.
When he joined Aligarh Muslim University in 1936, he started participating in inter-college, inter-university mushairas and won frequently. In 1940, he married Salma, who was his distant relative and had been living in a common house with him since childhood, however, the purdah system was vogue in their family and they were not close. After completing his BA, he moved to Delhi as a supply officer, but continued participating in mushairas, earning fame nationwide. Those were the days of shayars who wrote about the downtrodden sections of society, their upliftment, the betterment of society and all. But Shakeel had an altogether different taste – his poetry was romantic and close to the heart. Shakeel used to say:

Synopsis - Holding a first degree in law; Avinash Kapoor is employed as a lecturer in a college. When he attempt to punish some students for bending the rules; they retaliate by abducting his blind sister, Geeta. Avinash locates them and beat them up; only to learn that he is fired from his job and sentenced to 6 days in jail for contempt of court; after completing his sentence he is unable to locate any job which forces him to re-locate to Bombay; which still does not help. His aggression for cash leads him to deliver a bag to a smuggler named, Mr. Agnihotri; Agnihotri then puts a job proposal to him but he refuses to have any doing with unlawful activities. Later on he is forced to change his mind when he needs money to pay for his mother's medical surgery which Agnihotri provides. After this there is no looking back for Avinash as he continue to climb the ladder working for Agnihotri; Avinash meets and fall in love with a cabaret dancer, Sonia. But Agnihotri's younger brother, Dilip is also fascinated by Sonia; who abducts her and attempt to sexually molest her which forces her to jump to her death from a multi-storied building. Bearing witness to this Avinash loses his cool, locates Dilip and kill him. Avinash is then arrested by the police and his case is called up in the court. On his way to the court he gets a letter stating that Agnihotri is holding his mother and sister as hostages until he confess to killing Sonia and Dilip. Plot
Amarnath (Dilip Kumar) is a lawyer and is engaged to Anju (Madhubala), the daughter of a wealthy landowner. However, after he meets a poor girl, Sonia (Nimmi), he rapes her, and refuses to admit it. Sonia also refuses to say who raped her. When her fiance Shankar is killed she is accused of his murder.Anju Rai lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad in a palatial house. She is now of marriageable age, and her dad has arranged her marriage with Advocate Amarnath. Both Anju and Amarnath meet and fall in love with each other. Shortly before their formal engagement, Anju notices a change in Amarnath - as he appears to be drifting further from her. Then he decides to demolish his house and re-built it, and also refuses to go near any Mandir - either alone or in Anju's company. When part of the house collapses, he is injured, but recuperates quickly. It is then the town is set afire with rumors that Amarnath may have sexually molested a village belle named Sonia, who sells milk, lives a poor lifestyle with her widowed dad, cruel step-mother, and is to be married to the village goon, Shankar. Synopsis - Holding a first degree in law; Avinash Kapoor is employed as a lecturer in a college. When he attempt to punish some students for bending the rules; they retaliate by abducting his blind sister, Geeta. Avinash locates them and beat them up; only to learn that he is fired from his job and sentenced to 6 days in jail for contempt of court; after completing his sentence he is unable to locate any job which forces him to re-locate to Bombay; which still does not help. His aggression for cash leads him to deliver a bag to a smuggler named, Mr. Agnihotri; Agnihotri then puts a job proposal to him but he refuses to have any doing with unlawful activities. Later on he is forced to change his mind when he needs money to pay for his mother's medical surgery which Agnihotri provides. After this there is no looking back for Avinash as he continue to climb the ladder working for Agnihotri; Avinash meets and fall in love with a cabaret dancer, Sonia. But Agnihotri's younger brother, Dilip is also fascinated by Sonia; who abducts her and attempt to sexually molest her which forces her to jump to her death from a multi-storied building. Bearing witness to this Avinash loses his cool, locates Dilip and kill him. Avinash is then arrested by the police and his case is called up in the court. On his way to the court he gets a letter stating that Agnihotri is holding his mother and sister as hostages until he confess to killing Sonia and Dilip.

Amar is a 1954 black-and-white Hindi movie. Produced and directed by Mehboob Khan, the film stars Dilip Kumar, Madhubala, Nimmi and Jayant. Amar features music by Naushad with lyrics by Shakeel Badayuni.
Plot
Amarnath (Dilip Kumar) is a lawyer and is engaged to Anju (Madhubala), the daughter of a wealthy landowner. However, after he meets a poor girl, Sonia (Nimmi), he rapes her, and refuses to admit it. Sonia also refuses to say who raped her. When her fiance Shankar is killed she is accused of his murder.Anju Rai lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad in a palatial house. She is now of marriageable age, and her dad has arranged her marriage with Advocate Amarnath. Both Anju and Amarnath meet and fall in love with each other. Shortly before their formal engagement, Anju notices a change in Amarnath - as he appears to be drifting further from her. Then he decides to demolish his house and re-built it, and also refuses to go near any Mandir - either alone or in Anju's company. When part of the house collapses, he is injured, but recuperates quickly. It is then the town is set afire with rumors that Amarnath may have sexually molested a village belle named Sonia, who sells milk, lives a poor lifestyle with her widowed dad, cruel step-mother, and is to be married to the village goon, Shankar. A delicately nuanced psychological drama, exploring a 3-way relationship between the main characters and the crisis of conscience that rocks it. Plot
Amarnath (Dilip Kumar) is a lawyer and is engaged to Anju (Madhubala), the daughter of a wealthy landowner. However, after he meets a poor girl, Sonia (Nimmi), he rapes her, and refuses to admit it. Sonia also refuses to say who raped her. When her fiance Shankar is killed she is accused of his murder.Anju Rai lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad in a palatial house. She is now of marriageable age, and her dad has arranged her marriage with Advocate Amarnath. Both Anju and Amarnath meet and fall in love with each other. Shortly before their formal engagement, Anju notices a change in Amarnath - as he appears to be drifting further from her. Then he decides to demolish his house and re-built it, and also refuses to go near any Mandir - either alone or in Anju's company. When part of the house collapses, he is injured, but recuperates quickly. It is then the town is set afire with rumors that Amarnath may have sexually molested a village belle named Sonia, who sells milk, lives a poor lifestyle with her widowed dad, cruel step-mother, and is to be married to the village goon, Shankar. A delicately nuanced psychological drama, exploring a 3-way relationship between the main characters and the crisis of conscience that rocks it. Synopsis - Holding a first degree in law; Avinash Kapoor is employed as a lecturer in a college. When he attempt to punish some students for bending the rules; they retaliate by abducting his blind sister, Geeta. Avinash locates them and beat them up; only to learn that he is fired from his job and sentenced to 6 days in jail for contempt of court; after completing his sentence he is unable to locate any job which forces him to re-locate to Bombay; which still does not help. His aggression for cash leads him to deliver a bag to a smuggler named, Mr. Agnihotri; Agnihotri then puts a job proposal to him but he refuses to have any doing with unlawful activities. Later on he is forced to change his mind when he needs money to pay for his mother's medical surgery which Agnihotri provides. After this there is no looking back for Avinash as he continue to climb the ladder working for Agnihotri; Avinash meets and fall in love with a cabaret dancer, Sonia. But Agnihotri's younger brother, Dilip is also fascinated by Sonia; who abducts her and attempt to sexually molest her which forces her to jump to her death from a multi-storied building. Bearing witness to this Avinash loses his cool, locates Dilip and kill him. Avinash is then arrested by the police and his case is called up in the court. On his way to the court he gets a letter stating that Agnihotri is holding his mother and sister as hostages until he confess to killing Sonia and Dilip.

I learnt about Vinod’s death when someone from the media called me to take my reaction. My first reaction was of extreme shock and sorrow. I knew he was unwell and I knew his condition. He was very fragile. I have known him for 45 years. That’s almost from the beginning of my career. I have worked with him in many films right from Kachche Dhaage up to the recent Dilwaale ...
