Chimpanzee, sometimes colloquially chimp, is the common name for the two extant species of ape in the genus Pan. The Congo River forms the boundary between the native habitat of the two species:
Chimpanzees are members of the Hominidae family, along with gorillas, humans, and orangutans. Chimpanzees split from the human branch of the family about 4 to 6 million years ago. The two chimpanzee species are the closest living relatives to humans, all being members of the Hominini tribe (along with extinct species of Hominina subtribe). Chimpanzees are the only known members of the Panina subtribe. The two Pan species split only about one million years ago.
The genus Pan is considered to be part of the subfamily Homininae to which humans also belong. These two species are the closest living evolutionary relatives to humans, sharing a common ancestor with humans about four to six million years ago. Research by Mary-Claire King in 1973 found 99% identical DNA between human beings and chimpanzees, although research since has modified that finding to about 94% commonality, with some of the difference occurring in noncoding DNA. It has been proposed, for instance by J. Diamond in his book where he refers to man as The Third Chimpanzee, that P. troglodytes and P. paniscus belong with H. sapiens in the genus Homo, rather than in Pan. One of the arguments for this is other species have been reclassified to belong to the same genus on the basis of less genetic similarity than that between humans and chimpanzees.

Plot: Dreams. What are they? An escape from reality or reality itself? Waking Life follows the dream(s) of one man and his attempt to find and discern the absolute difference between waking life and the dreamworld. While trying to figure out a way to wake up, he runs into many people on his way; some of which offer one sentence asides on life, others delving deeply into existential questions and life's mysteries. We become the main character. It becomes our dream and our questions being asked and answered. Can we control our dreams? What are they telling us about life? About death? About ourselves and where we come from and where we are going? The film does not answer all these for us. Instead, it inspires us to ask the questions and find the answers ourselves.

We would not have to break up
Guess I'm your knight in grimy armor
You're my winter buttercup
Why are you walking away from me
Why are you walking away from me
Why are you walking away from me
Ain't I the man that you thought I'd be
I know I'm a moody bastard
Selfish sack of flesh and bone
But is it really all that bad for you
Would you be happy all alone
Why are you walking away from me
Why are you walking away from me
Why are you walking away from me
Ain't I the man that you thought I'd be
You know I never want to hurt you
I never tried to keep you down
But if you should change your mind dear
You know I'll be hanging around
Why are you walking away from me
Why are you walking away from me
Why are you walking away from me
Ain't I the man that you thought I'd be
Why are you walking away from me
Why are you walking away from me
Why are you walking away from me
Ain't I the man that you thought I'd be
You thought I'd be
Thought I'd be
Thought I'd be
