AIR - LUFTHANSA REGIONAL FOKKER
F-50 D-AFFX
BUDAPEST - STUTTGART
I went to
Budapest in my first attempt to take a sightseeing ride onboard the newly restored
Lisunov Li-2 HA-LIX of Goldtimer
Foundation, a sensation in
2003.
Unfortunately it remained an attempt, because the engines failed to start in cold wind conditions. So, I spent a lovely weekend with my grandmother in Budapest instead.
This video features the return flight from Budapest back to
Stuttgart onboard Fokker 50. I included this type into my "
Classic Aviation Channel", because this type has disappeared from
German skies for some time and I hope to bring back good old memories amongst my esteemed viewers.
Before the flight I visited the Aeropark Budapest with fabulous planes in the exhibition, filmed in detail.
History of Fokker 50 D-AFFX
Airframe 20142 was manufactured
1988 with initial registration PH-EXO, delivered to
DLT (Deutsche
Luftverkehrsgesellschaft mbH) and registered D-AFKG,
December 21, 1988. After DLT was rebranded to
Lufthansa CityLine, D-AFKG joined the new brand and operated on regional routes for
Lufthansa German Airlines after
1991. This aircraft operated for
Air Nostrum,
Spain, from
February 9,
1995 until
November 12,
1996, initially registered EC-781 and later EC-GAF on April 20, 1995. EC-GAF returned to
Germany and joined the fleet of Stuttgart based,
Contact Air, a member of
Team Lufthansa, serving the regional network, newly registered D-AFFX on November 12, 1996. D-AFFX was sold to
Transwisata Prima Aviation,
Indonesia, registered PK-TWF on
March 7, 2004. PK-TWF was sold to
Riau Airlines, Indonesia, July 1,
2006 and newly registered PK-RAH on
October 1, 2006. PK-RAH is reported to be stored.
