Amazing Longsheng/ Longjee Rice Terraces- China
The Longsheng Rice Terraces (simplified Chinese: 龙胜梯田; traditional Chinese: 龍勝梯田; pinyin: Lóngshèng Tītián) are located in Longsheng County, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) from Guilin, Guangxi, China.
The terraced fields are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountain top, between 600 m to 800 m above sea level.[1] A coiling terrace line that starts from the mountain foot up to the mountain top divides the mountain into layers of water in spring, layers of green rice shoots in summer, layers of rice in fall, and layers of frost in winter. The terraced fields were mostly built about 650 years ago.[2]
Longji (Dragon's Backbone) Terraced Rice Fields received their name because the rice terraces resemble a dragon's scales, while the summit of the mountain range looks like the backbone of the dragon.
In early June, water is pumped over the rice paddies and young plants are transferred to the main terraces.

This is a video that I made using some of the pictures that I shot during my trip to Southern China (November 2011).
I visited Guilin, with its pagodas on the peaks, its nature views and its modern centre. After that I visited Longsheng, a small village located a few km from Guilin where Yao people live and where there are some nice views on rice terraces. At the end of my trip I went to Yangshuo, a touristic town (full of people coming from many parts of China) near the Li river from where it's possible to do many boat trips or explorations all around, seeing amazing nature views (peaks around the river) and some old little towns.
I made my photos with my Samsung Galaxy SII mobile phone, with a Nikon D60 camera and with a Canon Powershot D10 camera.

Our journey has come to an end. We are leaving Ping'An Village by a small bus on bumpy mountain roads towards Heping (which turned out to be a mistake to get off there instead of Longsheng), witnessed a fight of Chinese drivers and ended up in an illegal taxi with a Belgium family to go to Guilin. Guilin bus station and it's surroundings can't be described in words, so just follow me, especially to the public toilet. Our bus supposed to leave Guilin at 17:40 (~12h drive). At the end we left the bus station at 19:45, had to stop at a gas station to fill up the tank and somewhere else to pick up more people. For the reason we all had to work the next day we thought there might be plenty of time. Far from it! We had to stop from 2:00-5:00 somewhere in the middle of nowhere, dropped people of and picked more up on the way from Dongguan to Shenzhen. Let's put it that way: We were a bit late but it was a great and adventures trip!

China Guang Xi Long Sheng terrace. the terrace had built for over 200 years form Yuan dynasty to Ming dynasty. local Zhuang people live in here. Farming runs in their blood their family have been farmers for over 500 years. absolutely fantastic place to go and visit, home stay accommodation is a popular way for visitors. i lived there for few days and i mostly forgot my home.

This is a video that I made using some of the pictures that I shot during my trip to Southern China (November 2011). I visited Guilin, with its pagodas on the peaks, its nature views and its modern centre. After that I visited Longsheng, a small village located a few km from Guilin where Yao people live and where there are some nice views on rice terraces. At the end of my trip I went to Yangshuo, a touristic town (full of people coming from many parts of China) near the Li river from where it's possible to do many boat trips or explorations all around, seeing amazing nature views (peaks around the river) and some old little towns. Our journey has come to an end. We are leaving Ping'An Village by a small bus on bumpy mountain roads towards Heping (which turned out to be a mistake to get off there instead of Longsheng), witnessed a fight of Chinese drivers and ended up in an illegal taxi with a Belgium family to go to Guilin. Guilin bus station and it's surroundings can't be described in words, so just follow me, especially to the public toilet. Our bus supposed to leave Guilin at 17:40 (~12h drive). At the end we left the bus station at 19:45, had to stop at a gas station to fill up the tank and somewhere else to pick up more people. For the reason we all had to work the next day we thought there might be plenty of time. Far from it! We had to stop from 2:00-5:00 somewhere in the middle of nowhere, dropped people of ... -

Wonders of the World - Longsheng Rice Terrace
The Longsheng Rice Terraces, also called the Longji Rice Terraces are located in Longsheng County, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) from Guilin, Guangxi, China.
The terraced fields are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountain top, between 600 m to 800 m above sea level. A coiling terrace line that starts from the mountain foot up to the mountain top divides the mountain into layers of water in spring, layers of green rice shoots in summer, layers of rice in fall, and layers of frost in winter. The terraced fields were mostly built about 650 years ago.
Longji (Dragon's Backbone) Terraced Rice Fields received their name because the rice terraces resemble a dragon's scales, while the summit of the mountain range looks like the backbone of the dragon.In early June, water is pumped over the rice paddies and young plants are transferred to the main terraces.

Our journey has come to an end. We are leaving Ping'An Village by a small bus on bumpy mountain roads towards Heping (which turned out to be a mistake to get off there instead of Longsheng), witnessed a fight of Chinese drivers and ended up in an illegal taxi with a Belgium family to go to Guilin. Guilin bus station and it's surroundings can't be described in words, so just follow me, especially to the public toilet. Our bus supposed to leave Guilin at 17:40 (~12h drive). At the end we left the bus station at 19:45, had to stop at a gas station to fill up the tank and somewhere else to pick up more people. For the reason we all had to work the next day we thought there might be plenty of time. Far from it! We had to stop from 2:00-5:00 somewhere in the middle of nowhere, dropped people of and picked more up on the way from Dongguan to Shenzhen. Let's put it that way: We were a bit late but it was a great and adventures trip!

The other two of the Three Treasures are Guilin Sanhua Jiu (桂林三花酒), a variety of rice baijiu, or liquor distilled from rice; and Guilin pickled tofu (桂林豆腐乳).
Guilin rice noodles (桂林米粉; pinyin: Guìlín mǐfěn) have been the local breakfast staple since the Qin dynasty and are renowned for their delicate taste. Legend has it that when Qin troops suffering from diarrhea entered this region, a cook created the Guilin rice noodles for the army because they had trouble eating the local food. Specifically, the local specialty is noodles with horse meat, but this dish can also be ordered without the horse meat. Zongzi (粽子; pinyin: zòngzi), a dumpling made from glutinous rice and mung bean paste wrapped in a bamboo or banana leaf) is another popular delicacy in Guilin.
