Lies for the Liars

Lies for the Liars is the third studio album by American alternative rock band The Used. It was released on May 22, 2007.

Information

While only eleven tracks are featured on the standard copy of Lies for the Liars, bonus tracks were released on certain versions. In total, the band recorded 19 songs, from about 40 that were written in preparation for the album. Those songs not featured on a version of the album were released as bonus tracks, on CD singles, and the Shallow Believer EP. This is the first album without Branden Steineckert as the drummer. He was kicked out of the band in August 2006. Dean Butterworth of Good Charlotte recorded the drums for the album. Dan Whitesides toured with the band and was later announced as the official new drummer.

The special edition version includes a bonus DVD, slightly different artwork, special casing, and a 24-page booklet packed with vibrant images of the band and Chadam. The special casing is fashioned to look like a book, with the pages within holding several photographs of the band and different fictional characters as well as the lyrics. The DVD has a 20-minute feature on the making of the album.

Short Night of Glass Dolls is a 1971 Italian giallo film. It is the directorial debut of Aldo Lado and stars Ingrid Thulin, Jean Sorel and Barbara Bach. It was first released as La Corta notte delle bambole di vetro in Italy.

Plot

The corpse of reporter Gregory Moore (Jean Sorel) is found in a Prague plaza and brought to the local morgue. But Moore is actually alive, trapped inside his dead body and desperately recalling how the mysterious disappearance of his beautiful girlfriend (Barbara Bach) led to a terrifying conspiracy of depravity. Can a reporter with no visible signs of life solve this perverse puzzle before he meets his ultimate deadline?

Alison Nastasi of Shock Till You Drop called it "nail-biting" and wrote, "Lado is at his best when Short Night of Glass Dolls confronts political and social unrest with nuanced symbolism." Noel Murray of The A.V. Club wrote, "Short Night presages Eyes Wide Shut in its account of a man wandering through a shadow city while uncovering layers of sleaze, and the film's simple social metaphor, imaginative setpieces, and unsettling finale make it a prime example of diverting suspense."Maitland McDonagh of TV Guide rated it 3/5 stars and called the ending "a genuine shocker".Allmovie praised the film's use of tension as opposed to the gore and violence common to the subgenre. Mike Long of DVD Talk called it "incredibly boring and poorly paced".

Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, known in Japan as Mario & Luigi RPG 2×2 (マリオ&ルイージRPG2×2, Mario ando Ruīji Aru Pī Jī Tsū bai Tsū), is a role-playing video game developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld game console in 2005. It is the second game in the Mario & Luigi series, and is the sequel to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for the Game Boy Advance. The game was followed by Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, released in 2009.

Although the sequel to Superstar Saga, the game's plot is unrelated to that of its predecessor with an emphasis on the time-traveling theme, which involves the protagonists traveling between the past and present of the Mushroom Kingdom. The adventure follows Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi as they search for Princess Peach, who has been abducted by an alien species known as the Shroobs. The gameplay centers on the co-operation between the quartet, who must use their specific qualities and skills to solve puzzles to progress through and features multiple role-playing game elements, but with a turn-based battle system focused on timing accuracy. The game is considerably darker in tone than its predecessor, especially in its plot and themes.

Plot

The wealthy Steve Battier (Rutger Hauer) is desperate to find a way to stay alive, as he is both elderly and terminally ill. When a company known as RPG offers him the chance to become young again in return for a large amount of money, he jumps at the chance to participate. Ten millionaires from throughout the world will be placed inside younger bodies for ten hours, but with the catch that every hour someone will die. Exhilarated from the rush of possessing a younger body, Steve is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep that body- despite the fact that experience and reality is not always the same thing.
