Itinerary: 3d/2n trip to
Sagada
12:30 AM -
Victory Liner Terminal San Fernando, Pampanga, take the
midnight bus going to
Baguio (if coming from
Manila you can refer to this link for trip schedules
http://www.phbus.com/victory-liner-bus/)
5:30 AM - Arrive at V. Liner Terminal Baguio
Take a taxi going to GL-Lizardo
Trans Terminal
Tip:
Once the ticketing booth is open, immediately buy your ticket for the first trip going to Sagada to get a good seat.
6:30 AM -
Leave Baguio
12:30 PM - Arrive at
Town Proper of Sagada.
Tip:
Register at their tourist center, just a bit downhill from the bus drop off
point. You can also inquire regarding their available tours. Some places in Sagada require a tour guide so you could enter i.e. Caving and echo valley. Also, if you're planning to see the sunrise at Kiltepan, you have to book a reservation. If you're alone and on a budget you can ask if they have groups who are willing to split the tour costs.
1:00 PM -
Lunch and
Rest
Tip: I had lunch at
Lemon Pie House located further downhill. Locals are nice and hospitable so don't hesitate to ask them for directions. I stayed at treasure rock inn which is around
200 meters away from the town center and needed a bit of hiking but it was worth it, the place was relaxing and had a beautiful view from the veranda. One room only cost me
300 pesos/night. If you prefer a place nearby their town center, you can check out Masferre
Country Inn located beside the tourist center.
3:00 PM - Caving at Sumaguing cave. A must!
Tip:
Tour guide -
500 pesos and shuttle - 350 pesos. But if you don't mind a bit of walking and hiking, Sumaguing
Cave entrance isn't that far from
Treasure Rock Inn.
5:00 PM -
Back to accomodation
7:00 PM - Dinner
Tip: I had dinner at Sagada Brew, good selection and one complete meal costs only
200 pesos.
8:00 PM - Drinks. Reflect.
Pabebe. Emo.
Whatever you want to call it.
LOL.
Tip: Treasure Rock Inn has their own bar. You can take your drink at their veranda and enjoy the cold weather while staring at the Sagada starry night sky.
9:00 PM - Rest
4:30 AM -
Sunrise at Kiltepan
Tip:
Shuttle will be waiting for you outside your Inn if you made your reservations the day before.
4:45 AM - Arrive at Kiltepan
Tip: To get the best view (and selfies with no photobombers), look for the steep pathway going down.
6:00 AM -
Breakfast
Tip:
Lamon ng madami dahil sa dami ng gagawin mo ngayong araw na to. Ginusto mo yan.
7:00 AM -
Echo Valley Tour (includes shouting your heart out moment and visiting
the famed hanging coffins) with sidetrips at Sagada Pottery, Sagada Weaving and
Orange Picking (seasonal).
Tip: Make sure you ask all the tour prices from their tourist center only. Sunrise at Kiltepan and this one cost me 1,500 pesos.
10:00 AM - Back to inn and rest
11:00 AM -
Early Lunch
12:00 PM - Pongas Falls
Tip: Bring water and aqua shoes to give you a better stepping friction on the pathway. I rented a jeepney for 650 pesos, sat on the roof and enjoyed the view (yes, people were staring at me and were wondering why i was seated on the roof while waving my gopro everywhere and looking like a complete lunatic when the jeepney had no other passengers, ahhh the perks of travelling alone, I didn't care. LOL
.). This tour was a total of 1,250 pesos including the tour guide and it was worth every peso. I wanted to visit Bomod-ok falls (big falls) but it was closed due to a 3-day ritual.
3:00 PM - back to inn and rest
4:30 PM -
Sunset Danum
Lake
Tip: I'm including this in my itinerary even though I wasn't able to visit it because it rained! It should have been a perfect day ender. But still, Sagada is so much fun and I'm definitely coming back.
6:00 PM - last night at Sagada. Do whatever you want. :)
