Perhaps unsurprisingly, says Pepper Hamilton securities lawyer Ed Dartley, we're also seeing too much capital chasing too few deals. Private equity is spending more capital on less M&A;, but it remains to be seen how long into the future this trend will extend. At The Deal, banking and legal sources still expect an uptick in deals this year--as long as the market, and lenders, support it.

Pepper Hamilton LLP is a U.S.based law firm with 13 offices and around 500 attorneys. The firm is ranked among the 100 largest firms by revenue in the United States. The firm’s largest practices include defense of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in product liability litigation and related matters, corporate transactions and commercial litigation.
History
The firm was founded in 1890 in Philadelphia by George Wharton Pepper, who joined the practice of Bayard Henry. Pepper emerged as a leading lawyer in Philadelphia and the nation, and was prominent in Republican politics. In 1954, the Pepper firm and another Philadelphia law firm — Evans, Bayard & Frick — merged as Pepper, Bodine, Frick, Scheetz & Hamilton creating a 35-lawyer entity. Shortly after the merger of the Pepper and Evans firms, George Wharton Pepper retired from practice because of failing health. In 1955, he was succeeded as chairman of the firm by John D.M. Hamilton, who was chairman of the Republican National Committee in 1940. In 1960, another merger brought in the firm of Moffett, Frye & Leopold. The firm grew significantly in the 1980s, 1990s and in recent years. In 2007, the partnership elected Nina M. Gussack as chairwoman of Pepper’s Executive Committee, the first woman to be elected to that position. Pepper partner A. Michael Pratt became the Philadelphia Bar Association’s 81st Chancellor in 2008. He is the third African-American to serve in that office since the Association’s founding in 1802.

The Weekly with Charlie Pickering
The Weekly with Charlie Pickering is an Australian satirical television news programme presented by comedian Charlie Pickering. It co-stars Tom Gleeson and Kitty Flanagan. It premiered on ABC on 22 April 2015 and was signed on for 20 episodes.
On 18 September 2015, the series was renewed for a second season to air in 2016, as well commissioned to air a one-off special titled The Yearly in December 2015.
Format
The show has been compared to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, following a similar format. Charlie Pickering delivers a selection of the past week's news stories interspersed with jokes. Most episodes feature an interview with a guest or a cross to an international correspondent. A previously prepared sketch, story or interview is usually presented by Tom Gleeson and Kitty Flanagan. It is pre-recorded in front of an audience in ABC's Melbourne studio on the same day of its airing.

Pepper Hamilton LLP and Freeh Group International Solutions, LLC (FGIS) presented the second in a series of Higher Education Webinars. This webinar focused on investigating and resolving sexual assaults on campus. Our panel of attorneys included, a current deputy assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Education, a former university in-house counsel and a former sex crimes prosecutor from the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office who counsels universities on the implementations of Title IX and who was also hired by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to conduct a review of cases and internal procedures following a grand jury indictment of several priests accused of sexual abuse, for a discussion on the legal requirements and best practices for addressing sexual violence on campus. This webinar focused on practical mechanisms to investigate and promptly resolve allegations of sexual violence and prevent its reoccurrence in accordance with Title IX and the Department of Education's April 4, 2011 "Dear Colleague" letter. Our panel was moderated by Matthew Dolan, managing director, FGIS and former general counsel, United States Naval Academy and speakers included John K. Our panel of attorneys included, a current deputy assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Education, a former university in-house counsel and a former sex crimes prosecutor from the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office who counsels universities on the implementations of Title IX and who was also hired by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to conduct a review of cases and internal procedures following a grand jury indictment of several priests accused of sexual abuse, for a discussion on the legal requirements and best practices for addressing sexual violence on campus. This webinar focused on practical mechanisms to investigate and promptly resolve allegations of sexual violence and prevent its reoccurrence in accordance with Title IX and the Department of Education's April 4, 2011 "Dear Colleague" letter.

I told him he had to eat a whole habañero 5 days in a row before he could try these. Needless to say there are still 5 habañeros sitting in the fridge...

In 1963, right after signing with Dr Pepper as their national spokesperson, 16-yr old Donna Loren, "The Dr Pepper Girl" co-hosted this ABC-TV Special with Dick Clark. This was the official launch of her new position with the soft-drink company. Her 5-year stint with the company posted Dr Pepper's largest sales gains in their history to that time. This show was a very unusual live televised Hollywood Party, filmed in 1963 at the home of Bob Marcucci, then manager of Fabian, Frankie Avalon, Johnny Rivers and Lou Christie, among others. Located in the heart of the Sunset Strip on Sunset Plaza Drive, the home was a shocking pink Spanish Villa (previously owned by Laurence Olivier, Anne Baxter and John Hodiak) overflowing on this night with celebs like Donna's mentor Annette Funicello, Frankie Avalon, Jan Berry with Jill Gibson, Dean Torrance, Connie Francis, Dick and DeeDee, Johnny Mathis, Bobby Vinton, Dick Dale, Deborah Walley, Wayne Newton, Bill Medley, Bobby Hatfield, Connie Stevens, Shelly Fabares, George Hamilton, Jack Jones, John Ashley, Bobby Vinton, Paul Peterson, Nick Adams and Trini Lopez to mention a few of those interviewed.
Donna Loren was the one-and-only "Dr Pepper Girl" from 1963 to 1968. She was signed to a long-term contract with the soft-drink company to sing all television and radio commercials, do all magazine and billboard advertising representing them in every capacity, sometimes sharing the spotlight with American Bandstand's Dick Clark. This relationship led to her touring in Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars with other popular acts like Diana Ross and The Supremes and singing solos in the popular Beach Party films starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. In 1963, right after signing with Dr Pepper as their national spokesperson, 16-yr old Donna Loren, "The Dr Pepper Girl" co-hosted this ABC-TV Special with Dick Clark. This was the official launch of her new position with the soft-drink company. Her 5-year stint with the company posted Dr Pepper's largest sales gains in their history to that time. This show was a very unusual live televised Hollywood Party, filmed in 1963 at the home of Bob Marcucci, then manager of Fabian, Frankie Avalon, Johnny Rivers and Lou Christie, among others. Located in the heart of the Sunset Strip on Sunset Plaza Drive, the home was a shocking pink Spanish Villa (previously owned by Laurence Olivier, Anne Baxter and John Hodiak) overflowing on this night with celebs like Donna's mentor Annette Funicello, Frankie Avalon, Jan Berry with Jill Gibson, Dean Torrance, Connie Francis, Dick and DeeDee, Johnny Mathis, Bobby Vinton, Dick Dale, Deborah Walley, Wayne Newton, Bill Medley, Bobby Hatfield, Connie Stevens, Shelly Fabares, George Hamilton, Jack Jones, John Ashley, Bobby Vinton, Paul Peterson, Nick Adams and Trini Lopez to mention a few of those interviewed.
Donna Loren was the one-and-only "Dr Pepper Girl" from 1963 to 1968. She was signed to a long-term contract with the soft-drink company to sing all television and radio commercials, do all magazine and billboard advertising representing them in every capacity, sometimes sharing the spotlight with American Bandstand's Dick Clark. This relationship led to her touring in Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars with other popular acts like Diana Ross and The Supremes and singing solos in the popular Beach Party films starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon.
