Dupont (band)

Dupont are an electronic music band from Sweden.

History

DuPont was formed as a collaboration of the vocalist Johan Damm and the electronic musicians Danucci and Riccardo in 1999. Following the demo 'Deliver', they signed with the German label Lip Records who released their first single 'Behave'. Their debut album 'Ukraina' was released in 2001. In 2002, Dupont supported Covenant on their 'Northern Light' tour.

There was a lengthy gap between their first and second albums, during which time Juan left the project to eventually be replaced on lead vocals by Riccardo, with the band's music moving in an electro-pop direction on their 2005 album 'Intermezzo'. Their third album came out 2009 and is called "Entering the Ice Age".

DuPont

E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, commonly referred to as DuPont, is an American chemical company that was founded in July 1802 as a gunpowder mill by Éleuthère Irénée du Pont.

In the 20th century, DuPont developed many polymers such as Vespel, neoprene, nylon, Corian, Teflon, Mylar, Kevlar, Zemdrain, M5 fiber, Nomex, Tyvek, Sorona and Lycra. DuPont developed Freon (chlorofluorocarbons) for the refrigerant industry, and later more environmentally friendly refrigerants. It also developed synthetic pigments and paints including ChromaFlair.

In 2014, DuPont was the world's fourth largest chemical company based on market capitalization and eighth based on revenue. Its stock price is a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

History

Establishment: 1802

DuPont was founded in 1802 by Éleuthère Irénée du Pont, using capital raised in France and gunpowder machinery imported from France. The company was started at the Eleutherian Mills, on the Brandywine Creek, near Wilmington, Delaware, two years after he and his family left France to escape the French Revolution. It began as a manufacturer of gunpowder, as du Pont noticed that the industry in North America was lagging behind Europe. The company grew quickly, and by the mid-19th century had become the largest supplier of gunpowder to the United States military, supplying half the powder used by the Union Army during the American Civil War. The Eleutherian Mills site is now a museum and a National Historic Landmark.

Deep (Niacin album)

Deep is the third studio album from the jazz rock fusion trio Niacin, released in March 2000.

The album is heavily loaded with Billy Sheehan's powerful bass solos and features contributions from guest musicians Glenn Hughes on vocals and Steve Lukather on guitar.

Deep (Peter Murphy album)

Deep is the third solo studio album by English musician Peter Murphy. Produced by Simon Rogers, the album was released on 16 January 1990 through RCA and Beggars Banquet Records and features contributions from Murphy's backing band, The Hundred Men.

The album spawned three singles: "The Line Between the Devil's Teeth (And That Which Cannot Be Repeat)", "Cuts You Up" and "A Strange Kind of Love". The track "Cuts You Up" became a modern rock hit in 1990, spending seven weeks at the top of the U.S. charts and crossing over to Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at number 55. The other singles also charted on Modern Rock Tracks chart, peaking at number 18 and 21, respectively.

Critical reception

Ned Raggett of Allmusic praised the album, stating that "Deep showed Murphy balancing mass appeal and his own distinct art with perfection." He also wrote: " Murphy simply sounds like he's having the time of his life, singing both for the sheer joy of it and for the dramatic power of his commanding voice."

Chevy Woods

Kevin Woods (born May 13, 1981), better known by the stage name Chevy Woods, is an American rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout his career he has been heavily affiliated with rapper Wiz Khalifa and his Taylor Gang record label, also serving as Khalifa's usual hypeman on tour. His first major appearance was on Wiz Khalifa's song "Taylor Gang". Since then he has released various mixtapes such as The Cookout with Khalifa and the Gangland series.

Chevy Woods first began rapping as a child, saying he and his homies would "take instrumentals and rap over it playin’ around." After graduating high school, he attended Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania, where he began getting passionate about rapping. Woods said it became serious at a point, when he "met this dude who had his mixtapes pressed up and ready to go, passing them out." Woods told him "I wanna get down with that." Then he just started writing, "just doin' it straight paper, straight rappin'" under the name Kev Tha Hustla.

The primary unit of local government in the U.S. state of Connecticut is its 169 towns. Each of these towns may contain incorporated cities or boroughs, as well as unincorporated villages.

New England towns are geographically similar to civil townships in that the entire territory of the state is completely subdivided into towns. However, they differ primarily in that New England towns, particularly in Connecticut, have broad home rule, and have powers comparable to those that a city in other states would normally have. There are advantages and disadvantages to this system: residents have a greater voice in the decision-making process over local issues.
