Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie (Tamazight: Ilemẓiyen Inaddalen n Leqbayel), (Arabic: شبيبة القبائل) known as JS Kabylie or JSK (transliterated ⵊⵙⴽ in Tifinagh), is an Algerian professional association football club based in Tizi Ouzou. It draws its support from Kabyle football fans even outside the city of Tizi Ouzou. It was previously called JS Kawkabi (1974–77) and JE Tizi-Ouzou (1977–89). It is one of the richest and most successful clubs in Africa. Their current budget is approximately 2,500,000 euros. Their home stadium is Stade 1er Novembre.
The club was founded in 1928 by Sidi Saïd Hanafi under the name of RC Tizi-Ouzou, but the project stalled because of colonial laws in force in Algeria. Sidi Said Hanafi relaunched the project in the early 1940s and applied to join the FFF. However, his death resulted in the suspension of the proceedings. The project was then taken up by a group of players from the Olympique de Tizi-Ouzou.

Kabylie or Kabylia (Berber: Tamurt n Leqbayel), is a region in the north of Algeria.
It is part of the Tell Atlas and is located at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Kabylia covers several provinces of Algeria: the whole of Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia (Vgayet), most of Bouira (Tubirett) and parts of the wilayas of Bordj Bou Arreridj, Jijel, Boumerdes, and Setif. Gouraya National Park and Djurdjura National Park are also located in Kabylie.
It is important not to confuse "Kabylia" and the global "Kabyle people" elsewhere: around 25% of Kabyle people live in the Algiers capital region. This article concerns only the territorial "Kabylie" region, and does not include Algiers's Kabyle population and society.
Algeria was known as Numidia (202 BC – 46 BC).
The Kabyle country remained as unconquerable as it was inaccessible to the Ottoman deys, who had to content themselves with a few disturbed coastal military settlements and some valleys where the rule of the Islamic Ottoman empire was imposed. The mountainous core land, however, remained independent and the Islamic faith found its way through peaceful means only, namely the Marabout movement, which many argue is the reason of the Kabyls' indifference towards Islam. The Ottoman threat disappeared with the arrival of the European and American navies to put an end to Islamic piracy from bases on the coast of North Africa.
Djamel Menad (Arabic: جمال مناد; born 22 July 1960 in El Bayadh) is a retired Algerian footballer who played as a forward, and a current manager.
Menad started his playing career with CR Belouizdad, before moving to JS Kabylie. In 1987, he signed with French side Nîmes Olympique, competing in three Ligue 2 seasons and appearing in nearly 100 official games. In 1989–90, he scored a career-best - in Europe - 12 goals in 27 games, but his team fell short of promotion after finishing in third position.
Menad spent the following three seasons in Portugal, appearing for F.C. Famalicão (two seasons) and C.F. Os Belenenses, always in the top division. Subsequently, aged 33, he returned to his country and retired four years later, after stints with former club Kabylie (where he won the African Cup Winners' Cup in 1995) and USM Alger.
In 2005, Menad started coaching, managing his last team as a player. On 14 May 2011, he was fired from his post at JSM Bejaia.
Menad gained the first of his 81 caps for Algeria in 1982. Previously, in 1980, he played Olympic football in Moscow, helping the national team to the quarterfinals.
Malik Asselah (born July 8, 1986 in Algiers) is an Algerian footballer. He currently plays as a goalkeeper for JS Kabylie in the Algerian Championnat National.
Born in Algiers, Asselah is originally from the village of Ighil Imoula in the Tizi Ouzou Province.
A product of the NA Hussein Dey junior ranks, Asselah made his senior debut for the club in 2006.
At the end of the 2009-2010 season, he left NA Hussein Dey after they got relegated. He subsequently signed a one-year contract with JS Kabylie.
On December 31, 2007, Asselah made his debut for the Algerian Under-23 National Team in a 1-0 friendly win over Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.
On April 17, 2008, he was called up to the Algerian A' National Team for an African Championship of Nations qualifier against Morocco but withdrew from the squad with an injury.
