Llanidloes (Welsh pronunciation: [ɬanˈɪdlɔɨs]) is a town along the A470 road and B4518 road in Powys, within the historic county boundaries of Montgomeryshire (Welsh: Sir Drefaldwyn), Wales. The population in 2011 was 2,929, of whom 15% could speak Welsh.
It is the first town on the River Severn (Welsh: Afon Hafren). The town's Member of Parliament is the Conservatives' Glyn Davies (MP since 2010) and its Assembly Member is Conservative Russell George (AM since 2011).
The town is close to the large dam and reservoir Llyn Clywedog. There is a scenic mountain road connecting Machynlleth and Llanidloes.
Llanidloes is popular with hikers who walk on the scenic footpaths surrounding the town, including Glyndŵr's Way, which in conjunction with the Offa's Dyke path forms a 160-mile circuit around Mid Wales and local passage over the spine of the Cambrian Mountains.
The Sarn Sabrina Walk - a 25-mile circular walk from Llanidloes to the source of the Severn and back - has been held yearly on the Saturday preceding the Late Spring Bank Holiday since 2006. In 2007 the Semi Sabrina, a 12-mile circular walk, was added. The Hafren Forest is also used for car rallies such as Rally GB and motorcycle Enduro events throughout the year.
A costume party (American English) or a fancy dress party (British English) or is a type of party, common mainly in contemporary Western culture, where guests dress up in costumes. Costumed Halloween parties are popular in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
The origins of fancy dress parties in the United Kingdom can in some respects be traced to masked balls of the 18th century period. In the period to 1850, fancy dress balls were a typical part of the social life of music festivals.
Notable amongst early events in the 20th century was the Chelsea Arts Club ball. Such events were often elaborate affairs and for the most part confined to those with considerable means.
Amongst the general population, costume parties also occurred with increasing frequency from the late 1940s onward, although for the most part the costumes were simple affairs until the mid-1970s. Prior to 'cheap' costume imports from the Far East (late 1990s), most costumes were either hired, or home constructed. Retail purchased costumes is, in respect of the UK, a largely modern phenomenon (late 1990s onward) although 'accessory' items had been available for some time. Since the increased import rate in late 1990's onwards saw the many materials / products being imported from the Far East with cost savings in labour and bulk orders. This has seen the price of purchased costumes becoming more and more affordable.
Llanidloes is a town in Powys, Mid Wales. The town is near the large dam and reservoir Llyn Clywedog. Llanidloes takes its name from the Celtic Saint Idoes (Llan-Idoes= the Church of St Idoes), after whom its Paris church is named. The half-timbered Old Market Hall stands at the crossroads of the four streets. Built around 1600, it is the only surviving building of its type in Wales.

Believe it or not, Nalle has been on a golf trip to Llandudno in Wales, of all places. Unfortunately he couldn´t find any golf club that fit his size. So he spent his days taking long walks in the beautiful countryside and visiting lots of pubs. "Nicer than working", he said. How he can say that, has anybody seen that lazy teddy-bear working?

Places to see in ( Leven - UK ) Leven is a seaside town in Fife, set in the east Central Lowlands of Scotland. It lies on the coast of the Firth of Forth at the mouth of the River Leven, 8.1 miles north-east of the town of Kirkcaldy and 6.4 miles east of Glenrothes. The origin of the name "Leven" comes from the Pictish word for "flood". The nearby Loch Leven, being the flood lake, was the name given to both the river and town. A settlement is believed to have formed at the mouth of the River Leven very close to the area around Scoonie Brae with the discovery of the parish church of "scoyne". During the mid-11th century, Bishop Tuadal of St Andrews gifted the church of "scoyne" to the Culdees of Loch Leven. By the end of the 11th century, the village along with the church were acquired b...

There is little industry in Lanark and some residents commute to work in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Its shops serve the local agricultural community and surrounding villages. There is a large modern livestock auction market on the outskirts of the town. Lanark has served as an important market town since medieval times, and King David I made it a Royal Burgh in 1140, giving it certain mercantile privileges relating to government and taxation...

Beautiful sunny day, spectacular views, secluded beaches, coast and country walking, fine pubs with good beer at either end, made for a perfect walk. However, you need to stop walking to take in the views, as uneven footpaths, stone and root outcrops close to cliff edges make it treacherous for those not sure footed. You need to look down in places not at the view. The tunnels through the bramble, were wasp infested and great care is needed. The beautiful beach a LLugwy Bay, was let down by the approach through the car park spoiled by the litter around the bin, overflowing and smelling. The beach was the perfect spot for a picnic and some sunbathing. This was a fantastic walk and made for a lovely day out.
Places to see in ( Leatherhead - UK ) Leatherhead is a town in Surrey, England on the right bank of the River Mole, and at the edge of the contiguous built-up area of London. Its local district is Mole Valley. Records exist of the place from Anglo Saxon England. It has a combined theatre and cinema, which is at the centre of the re-modelling following late 20th century pedestrianisation. The bypass streets to the town centre close and feature annually in the London-Surrey cycle classic which is ranked by the world's cycling federation. Just north-east of the midpoint of Surrey[n 1] and at a junction of ancient north–south and east–west roads, elements of the town have been a focus for transport throughout its history. A main early spur to this was the construction of the bridge over the ...

Searching for David are en route to perform at a gig in Llanidloes, Powys. But will they get all their gear in the Car? Will they make it there? Will Adam be able have the front seat all to himself?? Will Daz have a total breakdown? Will they make it back alive? all will be revealed.
Llanidloes (population nearly 3000) benefits greatly from having most of the traffic go past on the by-pass - the downside is that so that many people never realise what a fine town it is Llanidloes has many timbered buildings (the Old Market Hall the most notable) and plenty of what might be called 'traditional' and independent shops. It also has all the amenities you might hope for in such a town and deserves a visit Heading NW out of the town will take you towards Machynlleth via the mountain road. For my trip I took a left off this to head towards Clywedog Reservoir's dam (built in 1967) via the remains of Bryntail Lead Mine, and then continued clockwise. This is very much 'off the beaten track' The road circumnavigating the reservoir gives fine and varied views and plenty of pla...

A Llanidloes High School 'old boy' who became a Battle of Britain pilot.
Darling, can't you see
What losing you has done to me?
I'm not the same girl i used to be
Have a chance of heart
Don't leave me standing in the dark
Don't let delusion keep us apart
Come back to me
And i'll guarantee
All the tenderness and love you'll ever need
This time i'll be sweeter
Our love will run around
I won't let you down
Have faith im me
Since you've been away
I haven't seen the light of day
I'm lost without you can't find my away
So won't you please be fair
And let me show how much i care
Say you'll be mine and answer my prayer
Come back to me
And i promisse i'll be
Everything that's bright and new your whole life through
This time i will be sweeter
Our love will run deeper
I won't mess around
I won't let you down
