A seed is an embryonic plant enclosed in a protective outer covering known as the seed coat.
It is a characteristic of spermatophytes (gymnosperm and angiosperm plants) and the product of the ripened ovule which occurs after fertilization and some growth within the mother plant. The formation of the seed completes the process of reproduction in seed plants (started with the development of flowers and pollination), with the embryo developed from the zygote and the seed coat from the integuments of the ovule.
Seeds have been an important development in the reproduction and spread of gymnosperm and angiosperm plants, relative to more primitive plants such as ferns, mosses and liverworts, which do not have seeds and use other means to propagate themselves. This can be seen by the success of seed plants (both gymnosperms and angiosperms) in dominating biological niches on land, from forests to grasslands both in hot and cold climates.
The term "seed" also has a general meaning that antedates the above—anything that can be sown, e.g. "seed" potatoes, "seeds" of corn or sunflower "seeds". In the case of sunflower and corn "seeds", what is sown is the seed enclosed in a shell or husk, whereas the potato is a tuber.
An atom is the smallest constituent unit of ordinary matter that has the properties of a chemical element. Every solid, liquid, gas, and plasma is composed of neutral or ionized atoms. Atoms are very small; typical sizes are around 100 pm (a ten-billionth of a meter, in the short scale). However, atoms do not have well-defined boundaries, and there are different ways to define their size that give different but close values.
Atoms are small enough that classical physics gives noticeably incorrect results. Through the development of physics, atomic models have incorporated quantum principles to better explain and predict the behavior.
Every atom is composed of a nucleus and one or more electrons bound to the nucleus. The nucleus is made of one or more protons and typically a similar number of neutrons (none in hydrogen-1). Protons and neutrons are called nucleons. More than 99.94% of an atom's mass is in the nucleus. The protons have a positive electric charge, the electrons have a negative electric charge, and the neutrons have no electric charge. If the number of protons and electrons are equal, that atom is electrically neutral. If an atom has more or fewer electrons than protons, then it has an overall negative or positive charge, respectively, and it is called an ion.
Many students spend their summers tromping through slash-piles and battling blackflies to replant Canada's forests. Two University of Victoria engineering undergrads took a different approach: they built a tree-planting robot with the idea of supplementing the humans' hard work. “TreeRover" is the brainchild of two third year UVic electrical engineering students, Nick Birch and Tyler Rhodes. As part of an entrepreneurial co-op work term, they merged their love for the forests of Vancouver Island with their passion for sustainable technologies by forming a company—Iota Enterprises—to build this prototype of a reforestation robot. http://www.medicalmarijuanaadvisor.net In my latest video I show you one of my personal deep water culture grows. I'm calling this my Half Pounder because I believe based on the budding sites that I will yield a half pound from this beauty. If you'd like the full feeding schedule and details of how I grew this beauty jump over to my Facebook page and I'll post the feeding schedule there. As for the nutrients, as usual I only use Advanced Nutrients.
WE ARE THE AVOCADO ARMY. OUR MISSION: SPREAD ABUNDANCE - SHARE SURPLUS - CEASE SCARCITY SCARCITY IS A MYTH. WE DROP A-BOMBS TO OBLITERATE IT. THE A-BoMb IS EXPLOSIVE 2800 CALORIES PER POUND OF HANDHELD EDIBLE ENERGY. THATS ENOUGH TO EXPLODE ITS SEED INTO A TREE, and FEED ONE PERSON FOR A DAY. ITS FLESH IS THE MOST CALORICALLY DENSE WHOLE FOOD SUBSTANCE GROWING ON PLANET EARTH. 2800 calories per lB x 200 lBs per tree = 560,000 calories (feed 200 people for 1 day, or 1 person for 6 months) THE A-BOMB IS EXPONENTIAL Within every A-Bomb lies a seed of opportunity to sprout a tree spawning 200 more pounds of fruit Thats roughly 500 A-Bombs & 500 more chances to create A-Bomb trees 500 trees x 200 lBs per tree = 100,000 lBs = 280 million calories (feed 100 thousand people for 1 da...
In this installment, we learn that there are some bad people out there that want my corn. And they will use any way possible to get it. Like the Chamealion, an Ex-Spetznaz who likes to have corn on the cob. He is a superb fighter, but luckily, I am a Tae Corn Do master
This is it my friends, the time is here to draw the adventure to a close. The corn is ready and well, there's nothing really much left to do but conclude the saga. I hope you had fun watching. Ciao
