After wandering around Piccadilly Circus a few friends and I decided to choose a place to eat that would satisfy everyone's picky palettes without having to pay too much. After wandering around Piccadilly Circus a few friends and I decided to choose a place to eat that would satisfy everyone's picky palettes without having to pay too much. We didn't want to walk too far away from where we were, but rather hungry, so decided on Prezzo - everyone likes Italian food! What must first be understood is that Prezzo is a chain, like say Zizzi or Pizza Express. However, they don't specialise in only pizzas, and have a much greater appeal than your average high street chain Italian restaurant.
Entering the restaurant we were greeted by friendly staff. After sitting down it was the usual series of events - menus given, and not long afterwards asked for our choice of drinks for the evening. The menu didn't seem too different at first from any other Italian chain, except I saw a small range of Calzones on offer - which I went for - a choice I didn't regret! Having tried calzone in Italy, I would say these weren't at all bad for a chain Italian restaurant in the middle of London. The calzone was soft, and filled just right with cheese, tomato sauce, mushrooms and meat. The pasta and pizza ordered by the others looked well presented and everyone found the taste satisfactory. The bill came to roughly £17 per person for three meals, a side dish of chips and two drinks. For the location and the atmosphere, I would say this is very good value for money. The staff were friendly and one even inadvertently joined in our conversation about something else or another.
I would recommend trying the calzone since for the same price it's a little different from the usual pizza and pasta. Ideal if you do not want to move too far from Piccadilly circus, and need an affordable yet somewhat above average atmosphere to eat in.
