Bayt Al-Mal - Call To Action - Mohammed Robbani :: www.insif.org
- A
CALL TO
ACTION -
For many years now, we have been urging the need for us Muslims to do more than we are at present to help our fellow Muslims who are in dire poverty in developing countries.
We are often told that through major charities, aid from developed countries, large private foundations and initiatives such as microfinance - we are all doing as much as we can. But we disagree. We believe that there is so much more that we can do and that most current poverty alleviation initiates (although well-meaning) are actually woefully inadequate for the task at hand.
We know that we need to light a candle when we're cursing the darkness and we are often asked to provide a genuine solution to this issue - but the only one we can give is an ancient one, which harks back to the halcyon days of the Ummah - and we are challenged by many to provide a modern, credible and realistic plan as to how this ancient practice can be reconstituted and implemented and made in to practical reality -- suitable and effective for the modern time.
Thus: we have prepared a presentation with an outline of a proposal to reconstitute the original Bayt Al-Mal to serve one of its primary purposes: as the vehicle for the organised collection and distribution/application (on a global scale) of Zakah, Fitra and Sadaqah à to help the countless
Millions of poor, dispossessed and needy Muslims
across the world.
We intend to work tirelessly to achieve this objective -- as we believe that no matter how imposing or challenging it may seem, with
God's grace - it is achievable, and we request your help in any way you are able to provide it.
Help us intellectually and practically - with whatever resources you can.
Give us ideas - help to form strategies and become directly involved.
Spread the word -- let other Muslims know about this endeavour
Don't wait for others to help - offer your help now.
