Dundrod
Dundrod (from Irish: Dún dTrod) is a small village and townland in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 63 people. It is within the Lisburn City Council area.
Buildings
Dundrod Presbyterian Church and the former Dundrod National Agricultural School (now used as a church hall) are listed buildings. Locally significant buildings include a manse built in 1850, a pre-1830 group of farm buildings, and an Orange Hall built in 1937.
Sport
Dundrod Circuit is home to the famous Dundrod Motorcycle Road Racing Circuit set high in the hills overlooking Belfast. The circuit is seven miles and 505 yards long. The Ulster Grand Prix and the Dundrod 150 races are held here.

Ulster Grand Prix
The Ulster Grand Prix is a motorcycle race that takes place on the 7.3 mile Dundrod Circuit made up entirely of closed-off public roads near Belfast, Northern Ireland. The first races took place in 1922 and in 1935 and 1948 the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme gave it the title Grand Prix d'Europe. The Ulster Grand Prix was included as one of the races in the inaugural 1949 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, a place it held until 1971. It also counted for the Formula TT Championship between 1979 and 1990. According to the race organisers, it is the fastest road race in the world.
History
Thomas Moles, motorcycle enthusiast and Member of Parliament, helped to push through parliament the first Road Races Act, which made it legal for the Clady Course to be closed for the first Ulster Grand Prix on 14 October 1922. That first race had 75 entries in four classes (250cc, 350cc, 600cc and over 600cc). The race has been held on three different circuits. The 20.5 mile Old Clady circuit was used from 1922 until 1939 and included a notoriously bumpy 7-mile straight. It also ran across part of the grass runway at RAF Aldergrove and for the first two years of its existence the pits were on the Seven Mile Straight, by Loanends Primary School.

Dundrod Circuit
Dundrod Circuit is a motorsport street circuit used for the RAC Tourist Trophy for sports cars between 1950 and 1955 and for the motorcycle Ulster Grand Prix from 1953 onwards. It is situated in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The nearby Clady Circuit also in County Antrim was used for the Ulster Grand Prix between (1922–1952) before moving to the Dundrod Circuit.

TEAM PRB ER650 :The Dundrod Circuit (Irish: Dún dTrod) in Co Antrim, first used in 1950 for the RAC Tourist Trophy automobile race and the Formula One (non-championship) Ulster Trophy (1950-1953), was 7.416 mi (11.935 km) in length and later amended for the 1965 racing season to 7.401 mi (11.911 km) with the addition of the Lindsay Hairpin. For the 1953 racing season the Clady Circuit was abandoned for motor-cycle racing and the Ulster Grand Prix as part of the FIM Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championship and was moved to the nearby Dundrod Circuit in Co Antrim. Tour of Ireland and the Ulster GP
Our first visit to Ireland. What a fantastic country. Really want to go back one day. During our visit we first road the coast road out of Larne stopping at Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and The Giants Causeway. We then raod all the way down to Killarney and around the Ring Of Kerry before traveling back north for The Ulster GP. The Bikes ridden are a VTR1000 (1997), and a ZZR1100 (1995). The music is from both BenSound and The Free Music Arcive.

#Skyfall, Glen Etive, #Glencoe, The Rest and be Thankful, Scotland - 2016. Honda VFR 800 Vtec
394 mile round trip on Saturday 10th September 2016 on board my Honda VFR 800 Vtec. From the Scottish Borders, to Stirling, up to #Glencoe, #Skyfall, #Glen Etive, Dalmally, Inveraray, Arrochar, #Loch#Lomond, #Balloch, back to #Stirling and down the M9, M8, A720, A7 back to the #Scottish #Borders. Temps were between 9oC & 11 oC all the way up. Took about 3 hours to get there, no stops, just pushed it on. A couple of small rain showers in #Glencoe but bone dry and glorious in #Glen #Etive. Glorious weather with 17oC temps In Inveraray, over the #Rest And Be #Thankful all the way to #Edinburgh where is cooled to 15oC and still basking in #Sunshine.
