Yasuharu Hasebe
Yasuharu Hasebe (長谷部安春, Hasebe Yasuharu, April 4, 1932-June 14, 2009) was a Japanese film director best known for his movies in the "Violent pink" subgenre of the Pink film, such as Assault! Jack the Ripper (1976), Rape! (1976), Rape! 13th Hour (1977) and Raping! (1978). Earlier genre films directed by Hasebe include Black Tight Killers (1966) and the Alleycat Rock series (1970).
Life and career
Early life
Hasebe recalled a trusting relationship with his father, whom he considered the biggest influence on his life. In the post-war years, Hasebe was influenced strongly by American and French films, particularly American "B" movies, and the films of John Huston and Samuel Fuller. After studying French literature at Waseda University, he began working at Nikkatsu studios in 1958. For eight years he worked as an assistant director, including a lengthy apprenticeship under Seijun Suzuki. He was given his first chance to direct in 1966 with Black Tight Killers. He directed more action genre films in the 1960s including the fourth film in the Singing Gunman series, starring Akira Kobayashi, and The Massacre Gun with Jo Shishido.

André-Jacques Garnerin
André-Jacques Garnerin (31 January 1769 – 18 August 1823) was a balloonist and the inventor of the frameless parachute. He was appointed Official Aeronaut of France.
Biography
Garnerin was born in Paris. He was captured by British troops during the first phase of the French Revolutionary Wars 1792–1797, turned over to the Austrians and held as a prisoner of war in Buda in Hungary for three years.
Balloons and parachutes
Ballooning
Garnerin, a student of the ballooning pioneer professor Jacques Charles, was involved with the flight of hot air balloons, and worked with his brother Jean-Baptiste-Olivier Garnerin (1766–1849) in most of his ballooning activities. Eventually he was appointed Official Aeronaut of France.
Garnerin began experiments with early parachutes based on umbrella-shaped devices and carried out the first parachute descent (in the gondola) with a silk parachute on 22 October 1797 at Parc Monceau, Paris (1st Brumaire, Year VI of the Republican calendar). Garnerin's first parachute resembled a closed umbrella before he ascended, with a pole running down its center and a rope running through a tube in the pole, which connected it to the balloon. Garnerin rode in a basket attached to the bottom of the parachute; at a height of approximately 3,000 feet (1,000 m) he severed the rope that connected his parachute to the balloon. The balloon continued skyward while Garnerin, with his basket and parachute, fell. The basket swung violently during descent, then bumped and scraped when it landed, but Garnerin emerged uninjured. The white canvas parachute was umbrella-shaped and approximately 23 feet (7 m) in diameter.

Parc Monceau
Parc Monceau (French pronunciation: [paʁk mɔ̃so]) is a public park situated in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France, at the junction of Boulevard de Courcelles, Rue de Prony and Rue Georges Berger. At the main entrance is a rotunda. The park covers an area of 8.2 hectares (20.3 acres).
History
The Folly of the Duke of Chartres
The park was established by Phillippe d'Orléans, Duke of Chartres, a cousin of King Louis XVI, fabulously wealthy, and active in court politics and society. In 1769 he had begun purchasing the land where the park is located. In 1778, he decided to create a public park, and employed the writer and painter Louis Carrogis Carmontelle to design the gardens.
The Duke was a close friend of the Prince of Wales, later George IV, and a lover of all things English. His intention was to create what was then called an Anglo-Chinese or English garden, on the earlier model of Stowe House in England (1730–1738), with its examples of the architectural folly, or fantastic reconstructions of buildings of different ages and continents. It was similar in style to several other examples of the French landscape garden built at about the same time, including the Desert de Retz, the gardens of the Château de Bagatelle and the Folie Saint James.

History
Arrow Films was established in 1991.
After the release of Zombie Flesh-Eaters in 2012, film restorer James White stated that the label would try and revamp their brand to "focus on high-quality presentations of classic and cult cinema". White has stated that prior to Zombie Flesh Eaters, the label had a less favorable reception and that "a lot of those criticisms were valid. But people should understand that Arrow weren't personally responsible for those masters. They sub-licensed those titles from the rightsholders and it was either put them out with the masters they'd been supplied with or not release them at all. It's an unfortunate position that a lot of independent labels find themselves in."
In 2015, Daniel Graham left Arrow to head distribution at CinemaLive. Graham had been head of distribution at Arrow where he had been head of theatrical sales since February 2014.

Spectreman is a 1971-1972 toku show from P Productions. Spectreman specifications and powers Disguised as a human being (Jôji "George" Gamô), Spectreman requests his transformation from the Nebula Star, or is ordered by same to do so. Saying "Ryôkai" (了解 - Japanese for "Roger"), or "Ready" in the US version, he raises his right hand towards the Nebula Star, which shoots a beam at him, transforming into Spectreman, a cyborg in a gold-and-copper cuirass, with a full helmet looking somewhat like the Rocketeer's mask. Spectreman specifications and powers
Disguised as a human being (Jôji "George" Gamô), Spectreman requests his transformation from the Nebula Star, or is ordered by same to do so. Saying "Ryôkai" (了解 - Japanese for "Roger"), or "Ready" in the US version, he raises his right hand towards the Nebula Star, which shoots a beam at him, transforming into Spectreman, a cyborg in a gold-and-copper cuirass, with a full helmet looking somewhat like the Rocketeer's mask. Before transforming back into a human, however, he simply faints, possibly from using up his energy.
Spectreman starts out as human-sized, and can increase his size at will.
Body Features
Beam Lamp: The green stone on Spectreman's forehead, it is is equivalent of a color timer. Unlike a normal color timer the Beam lamp does not change color but simply flashes. It flashes when his physical strength is depleted and/or he is gravely injured, basically any physical situation where his life in endangered will cause it to react.
Techniques
Spectre-Flash: An energy beam that surges from Spectreman's fingertips.
Spectre-Ray: A Rainbow Ray that can destroy a monster.
Spectre Thunder: Spectreman can generate a shockwave of energy.
Nebula Slice: A multicolored shuriken, that expands when thrown.
Spectre Cutters: Razor-sharp blades that burst forth from Spectreman's forearms.
Nebula Gimlet: Using the Spectre Cutters, Spectreman rotates like a drill, digging fast.
Spectre Sword and Shield: Sword and shield sent to Spectreman from Nebula Star when requesting them.
Spectre Gun: A huge gun sent to Spectreman from Nebula Star when requesting them.
Flight: Like most giant heroes, Spectreman can fly.
Size Change: Spectreman starts out human-sized but can grow giant sized.
Spectre Shock: Spectreman can electrify himself to electrocute his foes. This power only works on contact.
Spectro Eyes: Spectreman's eyes turn light blue and can see invisible objects and life forms.
Freeze: Spectreman can shoot shoot snow from the spike on his head to freeze his enemies.
Light: Spectreman's body can flash brightly to blind his opponents and also burn them.
While Spectreman is virtually invincible, he can still be damaged. In one episode, when injured in the leg by an opposing monster, he bled green blood. He bled one other time, when bitten in the neck by a space vampire. Notably, his blood color had changed to bright yellow.

The visually avant-garde Female Prisoner Scorpion: Jailhouse 41 sees director Shunya Ito and star Meiko Kaji re-unite as Nami and six other female convicts escape prison once more. The Stray Cat Rock series stars Meiko Kaji (Lady Snowblood, Blind Woman’s Curse) who with these five films began her reign as the badass action queen of the era. In these five tales of rebellious youth she stars alongside the gorgeous Bunjaku Han (Love Letter) and Tatsuya Fuji (In the Realm of the Senses).
In Delinquent Girl Boss, the girl gang go up against criminal organisation the Seiyu Group, following a fixed boxing match blood is shed and friendships are tested. In Wild Jumbo, Kaji and the gang get involved in a kidnapping and the robbery of a religious organisation. InSex Hunter Kaji’s girl gang go up against The Eagles, a group led by Fuji where sex and violence erupt over the treatment of ‘half-breeds’. In Machine Animal gang rivalry is once again the focus with two gangs pursuing some LSD pushers looking to move a big score. The series swansong, Beat’71, sees Kaji framed and sent to prison by her boyfriend’s father and with the help of some hippies she strives to be re-united.
Directed by genre veterans Yasuharu Hasebe (Female Prisoner Scorpion: #701’s Grudge Song) and Toshiya Fujita (Lady Snowblood) the films feature a psychedelic mix of girl gangs, bikers, sex, drugs and rock and roll with plenty of ass-kicking to boot, all captured in a delirious mash up of pop aesthetics including split screens, freeze frames, injections of colour, frenetic editing and dizzying angles, making these films a riotous joy from beginning to end.
