Troy Cassar-Daley (born 18 May 1969) is a country musician from New South Wales, Australia.
He released his first EP, Dream Out Loud, in 1994 and was nominated for his first Golden Guitar for Best Male Vocalist the same year. He has won many awards, including the 1995 ARIA Award for Best Country Record, 1996 Best Male Vocal Award at the Country Music Awards in Tamworth, Best Male Vocal at the 2000 CMAA Awards and Song of the Year for "They Don't Make 'Em Like That Anymore" and almost a decade's worth of Deadly Awards. He won the ARIA Music Award for Best Country Album in 2006, and once again won the ARIA for Best Country Album in 2009 for his album I Love This Place.
He has been a regular at the Tamworth Country Music Festival (where he first performed at the age of eleven), the Deadly Awards and a visitor to Nashville, Tennessee, where he performed in the Country Music Association's Global Artist Party.
Troy (Ancient Greek: Τροία, Troia and Ἴλιον, Ilion, or Ἴλιος, Ilios; Latin: Trōia and Īlium;Hittite: Wilusa or Truwisa;Turkish: Truva) was a city situated in what is known from Classical sources as Asia Minor, now northwest Anatolia in modern Turkey, located south of the southwest end of the Dardanelles/Hellespont and northwest of Mount Ida at Hisarlık. It is the setting of the Trojan War described in the Greek Epic Cycle and especially in the Iliad, one of the two epic poems attributed to Homer. Metrical evidence from the Iliad and the Odyssey seems to show that the name Ἴλιον (Ilion) formerly began with a digamma: Ϝίλιον (Wilion). This was later supported by the Hittite form Wilusa.
A new capital called Ilium was founded on the site in the reign of the Roman Emperor Augustus. It flourished until the establishment of Constantinople and declined gradually during the Byzantine era.
In 1865, English archaeologist Frank Calvert excavated trial trenches in a field he had bought from a local farmer at Hisarlık, and in 1868, Heinrich Schliemann, a wealthy German businessman and archaeologist, also began excavating in the area after a chance meeting with Calvert in Çanakkale. These excavations revealed several cities built in succession. Schliemann was at first skeptical about the identification of Hisarlik with Troy, but was persuaded by Calvert and took over Calvert's excavations on the eastern half of the Hisarlik site, which was on Calvert's property. Troy VII has been identified with the Hittite city Wilusa, the probable origin of the Greek Ἴλιον, and is generally (but not conclusively) identified with Homeric Troy.

There are few more loved figures in Australian music than Troy Cassar-Daley. Troy's songwriting, performances and musicianship have seen him win a slew of awards: arias, deadlies and about three dozen golden guitars. Behind all this is a great guitar player and absolute tone hound. Troy fired up his live rig and home studio to play us through his prized acoustics, vintage Tele, pedal board, amps and a spectacularly sweet franken-strat. www.troycassardaley.com.au/ Guitar Speak Podcast Links Subscribe and find previous episodes at: iTunes or Stitcher Visit us at www.guitarspeakpodcast.libsyn.com Follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter

Things ain't so bad in this old town
When the world starts gettin' me down
I don't get blue
I just close my eyes and think about you
My job is very cut and dry
Doesn't mean that i don't try
But I have to!
Just close my eyes and think about you
chorus
I think about you
Every minute of every day
Darlin' what else can I say
I'm a love sick fool
Your pretty little face
Takes me to some other place
Like no one else can do
When I think about you.
Well life just rolls along I guess
But when my life's a total mess it pulls me through!
When I close my eyes and think about you
When everything seems second rate
Girl my only one escape
Comes right on queue
When I close my eyes and think about you
Chorus
Bridge
Life's too short not to dream
But at the strangest times
I just seem ! to...
Chorus
