Jill Anna Maria Johnson, (born May 24, 1973), is a Swedish country- and pop-singer and songwriter. She performed the Melodifestivalen 1998 winning song Kärleken är, and represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 with that song, which finished 10th with 53 points. In 2003 she again entered Melodifestivalen with Crazy in Love, which finished fourth in the final. She also hosted the final of Melodifestivalen in 2005. Johnson is today one of the most successful artists in Sweden, with several gold and platinum records.
Johnson is from the small town of Ängelholm in the south western part of Sweden, but the surroundings and the media compare her with the biggest stars in the music business. By the age of four, she had decided that she wanted to become an artist, an aspiration towards which she was highly encouraged by her local choir leader. As a 12-year old, she started off as vocalist in a Country & Western band, Tomboola Band, touring in Norway and Denmark. She signed eventually with EMI-Medley in Denmark and recorded an album, produced by top producer Paul Bruun. The title-track, Sugar Tree, became a hit in Denmark. In 1996, she had her first Swedish hit with Kommer tid, kommer vår, a duet with Jan Johansen. She now lives in a hunting lodge in the Western Gothlandic woods of Sweden, but also has a home in Stockholm.

Jill: I'd be willing to bet that her apartment is pretty bare, not cluttered. You would know if a book had been moved.
Julia: Someone has been in my apartment and they've done things, little things, to let me know that he's there.
Mrs. Schifrin: How do I look?::Dr. Schifrin: You look late. Beautiful, but late
William Landis: And maybe for the college boys, the truest mirror is the toilet bowl staring back at them the morning after a toga party.
William Landis: I am not the reflection of anything. I am not an illusion. I am the truth. I'm invisible. Unknowable. You people are the real illusionists. You people are the real illusionists!
Jill: [while teaching a self-defense class] Situations do arise where there is no-one around to help you and you have to defend yourself by whatever means necessary. You cannot say that you'd don't believe in violence unless you also say you don't believe in living.

John Clifford: Lets get something straight here, Doctor. I've been 33 years in the business of tracking people down and putting them away... spent almost a year alone on the case of Curt Duncan with the trial and the testimonies and the background investigations. Now, I didn't come here today to look in your God damn folders, in fact I probably wouldn't be here at all if you had done your job right.::Dr. Monk: This is a hospital, Mr. Clifford, not a penitentiary. Everything appertaining to one of our patients is meticulously recorded in that patient's folder, whether you can make sense of it or not.
Curt Duncan: [whispering, to Jill] You can't see me, but I had to come back. Don't you know why?
Curt Duncan: [to Tracey, at the bar] My mind. Your mind. Where do they fit in? Do you see what i mean? [Tracey glares, turns her head and moves a stool away from him]
Sgt. Sacker: [On the phone] Is the house locked up?::Jill Johnson: [Panicking] Yes!::Sgt. Sacker: Well, then you're safe. [Referring to Duncan] If he wanted to break in, he wouldn't keep calling you.::Jill Johnson: [Extreme distress] Please, can't you help me? I'm all alone here!

Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
Just another day on a backdirt road
just another day gonna steel my soul
just another day no backup plan
just another day with a dead end man
Just another day on a nowhere road
just another day trying to soothe my soul
Just another day saying "never again"
after just another night with that dead end man
That boy took my hand
left me broke down where I stand
left me with the keys to an empty car
left me with this jacked up heart
Never gonna say - girl you should've run
choking on dust, but it sure was fun
took me for a ride in a one horse town
If he's ever coming back, I'm gonna go another round
That boy took my hand
left me broke down where I stand
left me with the keys to an empty car
left me with this jacked up heart
That boy took my hand
left me broke down where I stand
left me with the keys to an empty car
left me with this jacked up heart
Side of the road, thumb in the wind
Sun beating down, just ain't my friend
Did a number on me, he did me in
Never gonna be the same again
That boy took my hand
left me broke down where I stand
left me with the keys to an empty car
left me with this jacked up heart
That boy took my hand
left me broke down where I stand
left me with the keys to an empty car

Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
We've walked across broken glass
We've got the scars to prove it
The kind of fire we both have
Don't know how we do it
We've tried to be together
and we've tried to be apart
There's no way around it,
we're two halves of one heart
You'll never get over me, I'll never get over you
It ain't always easy but it's all we know to do
And the truth is right here in each other's eyes
Nobody's getting out of this love alive
You're gonna be the death of me
I say it all the time
Sometimes I say it laughing
Sometimes I say it crying
It's tender when it's quiet,
it's hones when it's loud
sometime it's hell to live with,
but there'd be no living without
You'll never get over me, I'll never get over you
It ain't always easy but it's all we know to do
And the truth is right here in each other's eyes
Nobody's getting out of this love alive
ooooh
You'll never get over me, I'll never get over you
ooooh
I'll never get over you, you'll never get over me
I'm cold
It was the end of november
The day was sunny yet cold
I thougth I climbed every mountain, befor I seen it all
Outside the autumn turned to winter, and inside my heart turned to stone
(Chorus)
We were the luckiest people. The garden of eden was our home
We were the luckiest people.
I thougth we were meant to be, I thought it was we
I thought we were meant to be, you end me
All for the taste of the unknown. The strongest love fade away.
Now I must gather all the pices, of a shatterd dream.
Outside my window there is a winding road, my heart is telling me to go.
(Chorus)
We were the luckiest people. mmm. The garden of eden was our home
We were the luckiest people. I thougt it was meant to be, I thought it was we
I thougt it was meant to be, you and me
Not even thousand miles would hide the truth behind your eyes,
I see it right througt and I knew, I just knew
(Chorus)
We were the luckiest people. The garden of eden was our home
We were the luckiest people.
I thougth we were meant to be, I thought it was we
I thought we were meant to be, you end me
You and me
Some of us were given a number of
Choices
Some of us were given none
Life can be so easy though
Life can be hard for some
Let tears fall
Let hearts ache
Let love flow
Just don't turn away
She's somebody's daughter
A mother's jewel
He is somebody's son
Baby just like you
And behind those eyes
There's an innocent child
A daughter of Eve
A son of the sweetest kind
This is our world, give our home sweet home
A little of that human touch
This is a place where we talk about love
Well talking will not do that much
Let tears fall
Let hearts ache
Let love flow
Just don't turn away
She's somebody's daughter
A mother's jewel
He is somebody's son
Baby just like you
And behind those eyes
There's an innocent child
A daughter of Eve
A son of the sweetest kind
Home sweet home, home sweet home
Home, home sweet home
She's somebody's daughter
Love hurts
Love scars
Love wounds and marks
Any heart that's not tough
Or strong enough
You take a lot of pain
You take a lot of pain
Love is like a cloud
It holds a lot of rain
Love hurts
Oh, love hurts
I'm young, I know
But even so
I know a thing or two
I've learned from you
I really learned a lot
I really learned a lot
Love is like a stone
It burns you when it's hot
Love hurt
Oh, love hurts
Some fools dream of happiness, blissfulness, togetherness
Some fools fool themselves, I guess
But they're not fooling me
I know it isn't true
I know it isn't true
Love is just a lie
Made to make you blue
Love hurts
Oh, love hurts
I know it isn't true
I know it isn't true
Love is just a lie
Made to make you blue
Love hurts
Oh, love hurts
Oh, love hurts
LOVE LESSONS – JILL JOHNSON
(Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson & Scott Baggett)
No more needing no more bleeding
my heart has got to mend
no more hating, no more waiting
Time for the healing to begin
Time for the healing to begin
Love lessons midnight confessions
That's where you learn about the pain
When there's not a single cloud in the sky
Still you know it's gonna rain
such are the lessons of love
no more lying no more crying
these tears I must dry
no more yearning no more burning
from these ashes I will rise
From these ashes I will rise
Love lessons midnight confessions
That's where you learn about the pain
When there's not a single cloud in the sky
I still you know it's gonna rain
such are the lessons of love
When the passion is gone and still you're holding on
because you don't know what else to do
Thought you'd seen it all, but pride comes before the fall
and now it's falling in on you
Love lessons midnight confessions
That's where you learn about the pain
When there's not a single cloud in the sky
I still you know it's gonna rain
I still you know it's gonna rain
such are the lessons of
such are the lessons of love
I've wandered these crowded streets
And wondered if love I'll ever meet
But something beyond this concrete sky
Is pulling in me
I want to fly away
I just want to live for today
I want to fly away
I just want to live for today
Seems like this storm has only begun
Since I've become a homeless one
But something about the rain at night
Always takes me away
I want to fly away
I just want to live for today
I want to fly away
I just want to live for today
And I don't mind feeling this pain
Just as long as I'm feeling
Let me believe that I'll see you someday
I turn to the only familiar face
And wonder about human race
Cause something behind my little on eyes
Is crying to me
I want to fly away
I just want to live for today
I want to fly away
I just want to live for today
I want to fly away
I just want to live for today
I want to fly away
LOST WITHOUT YOUR LOVE
(JILL JOHNSON' STYLE)
I'm lost and all alone
I always thought that I could make it on my own
Since you left I hardly make it through the day
My tears get in the way
And I need you back to stay
I wander through the night
And search the world to find
the words to make it right
All I want is just the way it used to be
With you here close to me
I've got to make you see
That I'm lost without your love
Life without you isn't worth the trouble of
I'm as helpless as a ship without a wheel
A touch without a feel
I can't believe it's real...
And someday soon I'll wake
And find my heart won't have to break
I wander through the night
And search the world to find
the words to make it right
Since you left I hardly make it through the day
My tears get in the way
I need you back to stay
Yes I'm lost without your love
Life without you isn't worth the trouble of
All I want is just the way it used to be
I need you here with me
Oh darlin' can't you see...
That I'm lost without your love
Life without you isn't worth the trouble of
All I want is just the way it used to be
I need you here with me
Oh darlin' can't you see...
we had love before
By the time I figure things out
It´s to late
There´s a lot I need to say that just can´t wait
We might end up in tears
But you don´t show any fear
I wish I could be that way
I wanna see the world from a different point of view
Look at life just like you do
I wanna make love and every dream come true
Make the best of life just like you do
Tell me what you thinking, right now
You say you get by, I wonder how
Maybe it´s just me, if I could only let it be
I learn to look beyond the clouds
I wanna see the world from a different point of view
Look at life just like you do
I wanna make love and every dream come true
Make the best of life just like you do
If life was simple, if life were fair
We wouldn´t even have to care
I wanna see the world from a different point of view and
Look at life just like you do
I wanna make love and every dream come true
Make the best of life... just like you do
Four O'Clock in the morning
My minds filled with a thousand thoughts of you
And how you left without warning
But looking back I'm sure you tried to talk it through
Now I see it so clearly
We're together but living separate lives
So I wanna tell you I'm sorry
Baby I can't find the words
But if I could, then you know I would
Yeah
No I won't let go, know what we can be
I won't watch my life crashing down on me
Guess I had it all right there before my eyes, yeah
Girl, I'm sorry now we're the last thing on my mind
You carried me like a river
How far we've come still surprises me
And now I look in the mirror (look in the mirror)
Staring back is a man I used to be, with you
How I long for you, yeah
No I won't let go, know what we can be
I won't watch my life crashing down on me
Guess I had it all right there before my eyes, yeah
Girl, I'm sorry now we're the last thing on my mind
Girl, I'm sorry I was wrong
Could have been there
Should have been so strong
So I'm sorry
No I won't let go, know what we can be
I won't watch my life crashing down on me
Guess I had it all right there before my eyes, yeah
Girl, I'm sorry now we're the last thing on my mind
I won't watch my life crashing down on me
Guess I had it all right there before my eyes, yeah
Girl, I'm sorry now, we're the last thing on my mind
On my mind
You could have your choice of men but I could never love again
He's the only one for me, Jolene
I had to have this talk with you, my happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do, Jolene.
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you, please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Oh, Please don't take him just because you can.
Your beauty is beyond compare with flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring, your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you, Jolene.
He talks about you in his sleep and there's nothing I can do to keep
From crying when he calls your name, Jolene
And I can easily understand how you could easily take my man
But you don't know what he means to me, Jolene.
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you, please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Oh, Please don't take him just because you can.
You could have your choice of men but I could never love again
He's the only one for me, Jolene
I had to have this talk with you, my happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do, Jolene.
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you, please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him just because you can.
Oh, Please don't take him just because you can.
I can't take it no more now
I won't play any part of your wicked game
It's not worth it, oh man you're driving me insane
You're too much for me to handle
Just another day and I break down
I need distance, between me and you and this town
Well I've made up my mind
I'm not backing up this time
I'm gonna jump in a car, step on the gas and go far away
Away from here
And I'm staying around, looking at you, breaking my heart in two
I'm gonna jump in a car, step on the gas and go far away
Away from here
And I'm staying around, looking at you, breaking my heart in two
Yes I've had it, with your winds and I'm
Gonna do what it takes to set me free
I won't let you destroy whatever's left of me
I've seen through you and your lies and I've
Decided to do what has to be done
Realized that we're better off on our own
Well I've made up my mind
I'm not backing up this time
I'm gonna jump in a car, step on the gas and go far away
Away from here
And I'm staying around, looking at you, breaking my heart in two
I'm gonna jump in a car, step on the gas and go far away
Away from here
And I'm staying around, looking at you, breaking my heart in two
Well I've made up my mind
I'm not backing up this time
I'm gonna jump in a car, step on the gas and go far away
Away from here
And I'm staying around, looking at you, breaking my heart in two
Now I'm gonna jump in a car, step on the gas and go far away
Away from here
And I'm staying around, looking at you, breaking my heart in two
Now I'm gonna jump in a car, step on the gas and go far away
Away from here
And I'm staying around, looking at you, breaking my heart in two
Now I'm gonna jump in a car, step on the gas and go far away
Away from here
You get off on your toys, cause they make a lot of noice
Yea, your buddies and you think that you're the hazard boys and daisy
And I'm the one that's crazy
Cause I tell you that I'm done waiting here behind the fun
Hoping myabe one day soon I'll be your number one and only
But it's getting lonely
I'm on overtime with us,
Before I leave you in the dust
Cowboy up,
Show me what you've got, put your loving on eleven, make it hotter than hot
It's no big deal to be a man of steel if you never give me something I can really feel
Cowboy up
Time to dance, pull the trigger of emotion on a freaky romance
You may be strong, may be tough, but if you want my love
Cowboy up, Cowboy up, Cowboy up
You tell me that I'm it, but you're not about legit
Cause you wanna play the field before you have to go and quit forever
When we're stuck together
Well I got another plan you might wanna understand
If you're gonna be the kind of guy I call the man of my dreams
Cause baby now it seems
Your love's on a one way street
If I'm all that you say you need
Cowboy up...
My heart's ready and waiting for
One good cowboy, who knows the score
Who is willing and brave enough
When I talk you like to listen
I really love your kissin'
Baby you're a one of a kind
And baby did I mention
All of the attention
You give me makes me feel so fine
(Only for you)
My body's shaking
When I think of the things that you do
When you're crazy in love
Oh oh oh oh
When you're crazy in love
Oh oh oh oh
When you're crazy in love
There is no top speed limit
It's maximum in every minute of love
Oh oh oh oh
When you're crazy in love
Oh oh oh oh
When you're crazy in love
You're blind your heart's on fire
And nothing else can take you higher than love
When you're crazy in love
My head opon your shoulder
Baby when you hold her
The girl is shaking like a leaf
You give the right affection
A kind of chain reaction
Way down to my knees
(Only for you)
My body's shaking
When I think of the things that you do
When you're crazy in love
Oh oh oh oh
When you're crazy in love
You're blind your heart's on fire
And nothing else can take you higher
Than love-When you're crazy in love
(Only for you)
I've been waiting
Wishing my dreams would come true
(Only for you)
You've stared out the window for an hour now
I ask what's wrong, you turn away
You say, nothing, it's nothing
But it's something, something you don't want to say
A woman knows in her heart when
something's wrong
a woman knows when someone stays
but love is gone
when it's hangin' by a thread, 'bout to let go
a woman knows, a woman knows
You're saying nothing, well that says it all
I've tried to reach you for days
I won't live a lie, pretending you and I
can be saved, so just walk away
A woman knows in her heart when
something's wrong
a woman knows when someone stays
but love is gone
when it's hangin' by a thread, 'bout to let go
a woman knows, a woman knows
You could've been strong, but no
You wouldn't let truth be told
You had to let it all fall on me
A woman knows in her heart when
something's wrong
a woman knows when someone stays
but love is gone
when it's hangin' by a thread, 'bout to let go
a woman knows, a woman knows
Write me a letter
On baby blue paper
Write it in gray white board pen
Pick up the telephone
Do it sooner than later
Anytime that you'll need a friend
Well talk through your fears
I'll chase away the ghost
I promise I'll be here
And make sure you know...
You're not alone in this world
You're just a little girl
Nobody said you have to be so brave
Those tears you have to cry
And times that you ask why
You love someone and then they go away
You're just a little girl
Tell me 'bout your mother
Tell me how you lost her
And how you never got to say goodbye
All the things you can remember
The things you did together
The love you felt when you looked in her eyes
Deeper in your heart
When life gets hard to bare
Keep her in your dreams
And know she's always there
You're not alone in this world
You're just a little girl
Nobody said you have to be so brave
Those tears you have to cry
And times that you ask why
You love someone and then they go away
Oh, you're just a little girl
But not alone in this world
Ohhhh
Ohhhh
Write me a letter
Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver/Pam Rose
Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
That boy sneaking in the backdoor
that boy knows his way around the dark
that is a creaking down my wood floor
that boy is always scratching at my heart
that boy sneaking in the backdoor
that boy knows his way around the dark
that boy is a creaking down my wood floor
that boy is always scratching at my heart
That boy is a lifetime movie
got a different ending everyday
that boy just does it for me
that boy is a long story
That boy leaves me hanging off the edges
but he keeps me coming back for more
I believe in love the way he says it
So I'm never gonna win this war
That boy is a lifetime movie
got a different ending everyday
that boy just does it for me
that boy is a long story
oh oh oh you know I love
oh oh oh you know I love that boy
That boy is a lifetime movie
got a different ending everyday
that boy just does it for me
that boy is a long story
oh oh oh you know I love
He was a lost and lonely soul.
Until she walked into his world,
She was an angel send to save him,
Give him the love that he deserved.
She knew she wouldn't make it.
She only had so much time
The inner peace she carried with her
Touched so many lives.
But they would not grow old together
They talked of all the things they´d miss
While heaven made other plans for her,
She left him with one last wish.
Let there be no tears for me,
Spread my ashes in the sea.
Say a prayer for us, celebrate what was.
You can say goodbye as the sun begins to rise
And let the champagne pour over breakfast in New York.
Her memory was honored by her family and friends.
But there was moment yet to come
That was only meant for him.
He didn't even pack a bag, he just got on a plane.
Flew half way cross the world.
So that she would smile again.
Now they didn't grow old together
He thought of all the things they´d miss
But heaven had other plans for her.
She left him with one last wish.
Let there be no tears for me,
Spread my ashes in the sea.
Say a prayer for us, celebrate what was.
You can say goodbye as the sun begins to rise
And let the champagne pour over breakfast in New York.
You can say goodbye as the sun begins to rise
Let the champagne pour over breakfast in New York.
Flirting With Disaster
(Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver)
I should’ve crossed the street
I should’ve looked away
I should’ve said a prayer
Instead of saying your name
It’s too late to run
I let you get to close
Been here before
But let’s see how far this train wreck goes
My hands start shaking
When yours start moving
My heart couldn’t beat any faster
When it comes to taking me
Places I shouldn’t be
You’re the master
I’m flirting with disaster
Last time I fell for you
Last time I played with fire
I barely made it through
The smoke of that desire
My hands start shaking
When yours start moving
My heart couldn’t beat any faster
When it comes to taking me
Places I shouldn’t be
You’re the master
I’m flirting with disaster
I can’t help myself
Boy you know me well
When I’m this kind of lonely
You can always tell
My hands start shaking
When yours start moving
My heart couldn’t beat any faster
When it comes to taking me
Places I shouldn’t be
You’re the master
Ooooooh
My hands start shaking
When yours start moving
My heart couldn’t beat any faster
When it comes to taking me
Places I shouldn’t be
You’re the master
Oh you’re the master
I’m flirting with disaster
time to let go
Time to move on now
This is my last goodbye
The last time Ill cry for you
When you wake up
There be tears on my pillow
Each with a history to tell
Like a whispering shell
Its to late
When I am far and gone
Will you be missing me
Will you regard what you said?
When its to late
When you are on your own
Will you me missing me?
Will you me missing me?
Rivers will run
Bridges will burn behind
Im on my why to find the love
that will keep my world on a track
its to many tears
thats dry on this pillow
each with a history to tell
like a whispering shell
its to late
When I am far and gone
Will you be missing me
Will you regard what you said?
When its to late
When you are on your own
Will you me missing me?
Will you me missing me?
Time to let go
Time to move on mow
This is my last goodbye
My last goodbye
YOU DON’T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME
(JILL JOHNSON SYLE)
When I said, I needed you
You said you would always stay
It wasn't me who changed, but you
And know you've gone away
Don't you see that now you've gone
And I'm left here on my own
That I have to follow you
And beg you to come home
You don't have to say you love me
Just be close at hand
You don't have to stay forever
I will understand
Believe me, believe me
I can't help but love you
But believe me, I'll never tie you down
Left alone with just a memory
Life seems dead and so unreal
All that's left is loneliness
There's nothing left to feel
You don't have to say you love me
Just be close at hand
You don't have to stay forever
I will understand
Believe me, oh believe me
I can't help I love you
But believe me, I'll never tie you down
You don't have to say you love me
Just be close at hand
You don't have to stay forever
I will understand
Believe me, believe me
Oh you don't have to say you love me
Just be close at hand
You don't have to stay forever
I will understand
I wish I could remember your first words to me
Like I remember how you make me believe
That our love was some kind of meant to be
Take me back, take me back to those sweet nights
When you held me close like you'd never let me go
Take me back, take me back to those moments when
Kissing you was not a mistake
I didn't know my heart could break
No, no-oh, no, no-oh
I close my eyes just to see if you're still there, yes you are
I guess my dreams haven't let you go that far
Oh, I hear your promises in the dark
Take me back, take me back to those sweet nights
When you held me close like you'd never let me go
Take me back, take me back to those moments when
Kissing you was not a mistake
I didn't know my heart could break
No, no-oh, no, no-oh
Why did the feeling have to end
Wish I could hear those words again
Take me back, take me back to those sweet nights
When you held me close like you'd never let me go
Take me back, take me back to those moments when
Kissing you was not a mistake
I didn't know my heart could break
Take me back, take me back to those sweet nights
When you held me close like you'd never let me go
Take me back, take me back to those moments when
Kissing you was not a mistake
I didn't know my heart could break
Better Than Me
(Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver)
You sat down beside me,
you gave me that look
Now I got to hand it to the never that it took
I don’t understand it, but baby I swear I’m gonna try
You don’t know where you’re going,
don’t know that your needing,
Right now at this moment all you’re doing is leaving
So it wouldn’t serve any purpose for me to ask why
Go on spread your wings and take a big step
Don’t you even think about how lonely it gets
Out in the depth of your dreams
I hope you find better than me
I hope you find love that you say you are missing
Out on your hopelessly romantic mission
Hope you don’t spend your life
Looking back if you don’t
Go on spread your wings and take a big step
Don’t you even think about how lonely it gets
Out in the depth of your dreams
I hope you find better than me
I won’t be watching the door when you go
But there might be a window of time when you could walk back in
Yea we all wanna fly now and then
Go on spread your wings and take a big step
Don’t you even think about how lonely it gets
Out in the depth of your dreams
I hope you find better
I hope you find better than me
(music and lyrics: Jill Johnson/Lisa Carver/Pam Rose)
I trust the broken hearted
I trust the lost and fallen souls
cause they know,
that kind of tears i've tasted
The nights and days I've wasted
Fighting hard not to let you go
Oh How I tried, your love just lied
I cant take the pain
I played the same
so what's a little rain
I'm not the samw without you
I'm strong now that I should be
You wouldn't recognize me
I know the stars at midnight,
I know the morning with no sleep
I've gone down deep
I'll do the time, I'll be just fine
I can take the pain
I played the game
so what's a little rain
It's not so lonely here
Waiting for the sky to clear
I'll be over you
I'll be over you
I can take the pain
I played the game
I can take the pain
I played the game
what's a little rain
I can take the pain
I played the game
I can take the pain
I played the game
Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver
Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
I can't remember your number
I couldn't spell your name
If I had a gun to my head right now
I couldn't picture your face
The whiskey's working
If I could drive to your front door
I couldn't find the key
The one you hid from everyone
in the world but me
I think the whiskey's working
I think it's found its mark
the last piece of me that could feel a thing
just gave up in the dark
drink past the hurting
I guess the whiskey's working
My hands ain't shaking
and my eyes are closed
and I'm less thirsty for you
with every sip of this liquid gold
I guess the whiskey's working
I'm gonna drink till the morning
I'll just let it pour
think I'll love you little less
If I drink a little more
If I drink a little more
I think the whiskey's working
I think it's found its mark
If I'm lucky I'll forget you baby
before I drown my heart
get past the hurting and pray it's working
guess the whiskey's working
I'm not certain anymore
ETERNAL LOVE – JILL JOHNSON
Here, at the peaceful break of day,
there's a feeling life is breathin' again
The winds of mercy throw the heavy clouds away
And in heaven, no more teardrops turn to rain
that will stay in our hearts forever
An angel passed me by so high up in the sky
But she turned around and let her smile
shine on down
Like a warm morning sun,
like the stars laid one by one
Showin' us a wonder that is all the while
all around
Eternal love
When the night is closin' in,
there's a moment when we safely breathe as one
(The wind that slowly past the years)
Brings the sun down a thousand roses
An angel passed me by so high up in the sky
But she turned around and let her smile
shine on down
Like a warm morning sun,
like the stars laid one by one
Showin' us a wonder that is all the while
all around
Eternal love,
oh...
Oh... oh...
An angel passed me by so high up in the sky
But she turned around and let her smile shine on down
Like a warm morning sun,
like the stars laid one by one
Showin' us a wonder that is all the while
all around
You've been gone - honey way too long
I can't wait to see what you've got for me
As long as that something has something to do with you
Don't be afraid, go on and make my day
Don't take it slow, 'cause I've missed you so
No matter what you do, you won't overdo
You can't love me too much
You can't love me enough
Oh, I can't wait to feel your touch
You're my desire
You set my fire
It's a beautiful rush
I'm gratified
So satisfied
My flame keeps burnin' higher and higher
So come on baby, fill me up
You can't love me too much
Between you and
We fit perfectly
Like a first good date, oh I know it's fate
We're everything we need
We've got it together
Oh, you're like a heart attack and aphrodisiac
I can't blame you for making me want more
They way you look at me, you can have me whenever
You can't love me too much
You can't love me enough
Oh, I can't wait to feel your touch
You're my desire
You set my fire
It's a beautiful rush
I'm gratified
So satisfied
My flame keeps burnin' higher and higher
So come on baby, fill me up
You can't love me too much, oh yeah
Between you and me we fit perfectly
Oh I can't wait to see what you've got for me
You can't love me too much
You can't love me enough
Oh, I can't wait to feel your touch
You're my desire
You set my fire
It's a beautiful rush
I'm gratified
So satisfied
My flame keeps burnin' higher and higher
So come on baby, fill me up
You can't love me too much
Oh come on baby, fill me up
Oh Oh
Late night you are sleeping, I'm lying here beside you
And just by looking at you I get a rush that I can't explain
I feel you're reaching for me, sorry I didn´t mean to wake you
But you just smile and pull me closer
What a perfect time to open my heart, and say what's on my mind
'Cause I want you to know that every day and night I wanna spend it with you
Oh, but words are never really enough
Hear me now
I can't get enough of you, that's a fact
It's just the way you move me, you groove me, you do that to me
I don't ever wanna stop
When I'm down you bring me up
I'll touch the sky, baby I can't get enough of you
Oh Oh
Oh man, you drive me crazy, even though you just try to love me
No one's ever touched me, you got a way that I can't explain
You don't need to say you love me, I can see it in your eyes
I'll never let you leave, now
You turn the music on when you give me that smile
You care like no one else, can't belive that you're mine
I'd lost my faith in love, and then I met you, baby
I almost can't belive that it's true
Hear me now
I can't get enough of you, that's a fact
It's just the way you move me, you groove me, you do that to me
I love everything you do, I'll always be with you
How easy you please me, baby believe me
I don't ever wanna stop
When I'm down you bring me up
I'll touch the sky, baby I can't get enough of you
Can't get enough of you...
Oh, you make me feel so real
You let me be who I am
I just love you man
Now I can't...
I can't get enough of you, that's a fact
It's just the way you move me, you groove me, you do that to me
I love everything you do, I'll always be with you
How easy you please me, baby believe me
I can't get enough of you, that's a fact
It's just the way you move me, you groove me, you do that to me
I don´t ever wanna stop
When I´m down you bring me up
Desperado why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow
Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
She will beat you if she's able
The queen of hearts is always your best bet
And it seems to me some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get
Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, its drivin' you home
Oooh freedom, oh freedom, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone
Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're loosin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away, away?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin' ooh but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, Let somebody love you
Oh you better let somebody love you,
Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Jesse Walker/Lisa Carver
Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
You always hated the way I built these walls
and kept it in
the way I'd deny and smile
cause to me being weak's a sin
Fixing things is what a man likes to do
for the woman he loves
and I didn't give you that
So I didn't give enough
Since you've gone
I'm learning to break down
I'm falling apart all over town
Crying like a rainstorm I'm not holding back now
You'd be proud
I'm hurting out loud
I was afraid you'd love me less
If you saw this fragile me
All the scrapes and scars and the holes in the heart a lifetime leaves
I didn't beg you to stay, didn't reach for your hand I let you go
thought I was being strong, so strong, til the levy broke
Since you've gone
I'm learning to break down
I'm falling apart all over town
Crying like a rainstorm I'm not holding back now
You'd be proud
I'm hurting out loud
Oh baby I wish you could see me now
cause I'm not the same
talking about all this pain
Since you've gone
I'm learning to break down
I'm falling apart all over town
Crying like a rainstorm I'm not holding back now
You'd be proud oh so proud
'cause I'm hurting out loud
oh oh you'd be so proud
I'm hurting out loud
oh you'd be proud so proud
I was born to play guitar
Now they say that I'm a star
I remember mama told me
Don't lose sight of who you are (oh)
I've been around the world and back
Like hanging on to a roller coaster ride
A little bit of good and bad
And something on the side
So you think you know all of me
But I won't back down until I make you see
There's more to me than meets the eye
I'm gonna make it all the way
Gonna make it all the way
I've come too far to go astray
I walked on, I'm still going
I'm gonna make it all the way
Gonna make it all the way
I'm not gonna stop until the day
I'm standing on top of the world
Oh no it's not a mistery
Been doing this since I was three
Never really had to learn it
Rock n' Roll came easily (oh)
I've been around the world and back
So many getting to knows and letting goes
I got my own direction
Whichever way the wind blows (oh)
I gotta be a charming devil
And even though the sweetest angel's got her show
I lost and found me on the road
I'm gonna make it all the way
Gonna make it all the way
I've come too far to go astray
I walked on, I'm still going
I'm gonna make it all the way
Gonna make it all the way
I'm not gonna stop until the day
I'm standing on top of the world
When I'm getting there
I'm gonna soak it in
Gonna give some back
Cause I've got so much to show
Ooh, I've been around the world and back
Like hanging on to a roller coaster ride
A little bitt of good and bad
And something on the side
Oh you think you know all of me
But I won't back down until I make you see
There's more to me than meets the eye
I'm gonna make it all the way
Gonna make it all the way
I've come too far to go astray
I walked on, I'm still going
I'm gonna make it all the way
Gonna make it all the way
I'm not gonna stop until the day
I'm standing on top of the world
I'm gonna make it all the way
Gonna make it all the way
I've come too far to go astray
I walked on, I'm still going
I'm gonna make it all the way
Gonna make it all the way
I'm not gonna stop until the day

Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
The city's way too small
we had a moment there and that moment said it all
you're a secret I don't tell
when ever I see you, I don't fight that feeling well
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
baby you see it in my eyes
no one to fool no need to lie
baby this town is a heart shaped chalkline
waiting for us to cross back over one more time
scene of the crime
There was a moon that saw right through
everything we did and didn't do
Maybe it's crazy but it's so true
you ruined me for anyone but you
Nowhere to run nowhere to hide
baby you see it in my eyes
no one to fool no need to lie
baby this town is a heart shaped chalkline
waiting for us to cross back over one more time
scene of the crime
I'm gonna meet you there tonight
at the scene of the crime
Nowhere to run nowhere to hide
baby you see it in my eyes
no one to fool no need to lie
baby this town is a heart shaped chalkline
waiting for us to cross back over one more time
Her mum and dad grew up in this town
Married after school and settled down
Like most round here, bought a little ground
and planted roots.
Her brother Mark works att daddy's store
Sister Connie's wornin' on kid number four
But Rose hut eighteen and hit "that" door
and she flew
she said I know they're thinkin'
I'm just the wild thing
Just cause you've got roots
Doesn't mean you can't have wings
CHORUS:
So she flies
soaring where she's never been
Reaching out for a life
Grabbin' all she can take in
She flies like an eagle on the wind
Just cause you've got roots
Doesn't mean you can't have wings
She moved to Dallas then Frisco Bay
Spent a year in Denver, (and) wound up in L.A.
Where she met a guy who took her breath away
and said I do!
They had a daughter late next fall
Took a trip back home to show her to mum
Her mama said (baby) I've seen it all
she act's just like you
Rose - when she grows up
remember one thing
Just cause she's got roots
Doesn't mean she can't have wings
CHORUS
Her mum and dad move to town
In north L.A they settled down
Like most round here, bought a little ground
Roll My Way
(Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver/Pam Rose)
I've always been stubborn hearted
baby I was just wired too tight
crossed the line before I get started
not enough hours in the day or night
I've been running us too hard lately
You've been diggin' your heals in deep
I think it's time that I slow down maybe
think it's time I let you lead
I'm trying something new
gonna step back a little and see how
things might play
All I gotta do is stop pushing the river
and let you, let you,let you roll my way
I think i'm liking how this is working
I should've done it long time ago
finally giving in what's it hurting
I'm loving going with the flow
I'm trying something new
I just just tep back a little and see how
things might play
All I gotta do is stop pushing the river
and let you, let you, let you roll my way
come on, come on, come on let's see what you got
Do you, do you, do you have it in you or not
I'm trying something new gonna step back
a little and see how things might play
All I gotta do is stop pushing the river
and let you, let you, let you let you try
something new, when I step back a little
and see how things might play
All I gotta do is stop pushing the river and
let you let you let you roll my way
Roll my way
roll my way
yeah roll my roll my roll my way
roll my roll my roll my way
roll my roll my roll my way
roll my roll my roll my way
Children playing
Birds out singing
But I can’t pretend
There are moments
When I wish that
I won’t wake up again
It is time this has come to an end
And I know that you’ll understand
You were all that I have
I’ve hurting so bad
Heaven took you way too young
But I've cried all my tears
After three lonely years
I must realize that you’re gone
Take my heart so I can move on
I’ve been faithful
Kept my promise
Never faulted once
What is over
Must be over
Help me come and gone
With this song I’m saying goodbye
And its hard I’m not gonna lie
You were all that I have
I’ve hurting so bad
Heaven took you way too young
But I've cried all my tears
After three lonely years
I must realize that you’re gone
Take my heart so I can move on
Oh Oh Oh ….
With this song I’m saying goodbye
And it’s hard I’m not gonna lie
You were all that I have
I’ve been hurting so bad
Heaven took you way too young
And I've cried all my tears
After three lonely years
I must realize that you’re gone
Take my heart so I can move on
Oh oh oh…
Children playing
Birds out singing
But I can’t pretend
There are moments
When I wish that
I was blunt enough to tell anyone to go to hell
I got laughs at my friends' expense, no matter how they felt
I was weak enough to cry myself to sleep
I did a lot of things that weren't really me
Tired of being lost
Too much of being tough
Longing to be soft
Needing to be loved
I knew all along
What I wanted to be
So when I found you
I finally found me
You teach me how to listen
Instead of hearing myself talk
And putting other people first
Without a second thought
I was at my worst
But I feel better now
You bring out the best in me, when I don't know how
Tired of being lost
Too much of being tough
Longing to be soft
Needing to be loved
I knew all along
What I wanted to be
So when I found you
I finally found me
I'm so glad you saved me from myself
Now I'm happy to be me
Instead of someone else
Tired of being lost
I knew all along what I wanted to be
So when I found you
I finally found me
Now that I found you
Duet with Nathan Chapman
Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver
We've walked across broken glass
We've got the scars to prove it
The kind of fire we both have
Don't know how we do it
We've tried to be together
and we've tried to be apart
There's no way around it,
we're two halves of one heart
You'll never get over me, I'll never get over you
It ain't always easy but it's all we know to do
The truth is right here in each others eyes
Nobody's getting out of this love alive
You're gonna be the death of me
I say it all the time
Sometimes I say it laughing
Sometimes I say it crying
It's tender when it's quiet, it's honest when it's loud
sometime it's hell to live with, but there'd be no living without
You'll never get over me, I'll never get over you
It ain't always easy but it's all we know to do
And the truth is right here in each others eyes
Nobody's getting out of this love alive
ooooh
You'll never get over me, I'll never get over you
ooooh
I'll never get over you, you'll never get over me
You brag about your parties at the
Fountain Blue Hilton
And all about golfing with your prominent friends
You've made it quite clear that you're good for
Millions
That you don't have to care about how much you spend
Now you're telling me you could give me
Every fur coat I'm asking for
Any shining piece of jewelry
Any flashy car, and even more
Good for you, but I don't want it
Keep your money in your pocket
You can't buy your way into my life
So hold it, let it be
Good for you, but I don't need it
Take your shallow life and beat it
You may live your life in luxury but you could
Never see
What's good for me
You boast about your mansions at the French Riviera
And you can't stop flashing all your VIP cards
You even got a house in the Hollywood Hills
Where every single neighbor seems to be a star
Now you're telling me you could give me
Every fur coat I'm asking for
Any shining piece of jewelry
Any flashy car, and even more
Good for you, but I don't want it
Keep your money in your pocket
You can't buy your way into my life
So hold it, let it be
Good for you, but I don't need it
Take your shallow life and beat it
You may live your life in luxury but you could
Never see
Nathalie where did you go
Your family they miss you so
They don't know what to do without you
Did you take a walk and did you go too far
Are you lost somewhere out in the dark
The waiting is so cruel
I hope somebody has your hand
And I pray you're somewhere safe
It's hard for me to understand
This crazy world today
I'm not the only one
Who knows you're gone
Today when I walked out my door
I won't be the girl I was before
You made a mark inside my heart
How could I be
I'm thinking about you... Nathalie
I'm thinking about you
Ooh... Nathalie
She was only five years old
Her story barely even told
Another mother lost her child today
Ooh... we shake our heads it makes no sense
And we mourn the loss of innocence
And silently we search for words to say
I hope somebody has your hand
And I pray you're somewhere safe
It's hard for me to understand
This crazy world today
I'm not the only one
Who knows you're gone
Ooh... today when I walked out my door
I won't be the girl I was before
You made a mark inside my heart
How could I be
I'm thinking about you... Nathalie
I'm thinking about you
Ooh... Nathalie
Ooh ooh...
Today when I walked out my door
I won't be the girl I was before
You made a mark inside my heart
YOU THINK YOU’RE THE MAN – JILL JOHNSON
(Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Stephanie Chapman)
Truth be told, that line is old
You think you're funny but you ain't honey
that muscle shirt that spray on tan
yeah you think you're the man
walk up to me, drunk as can be
you wanna dance, a snow balls chance
let's get in on, as if you can
yeah you think you're the man
You think you're lighting and thunder
you're the eight natural wonder
got the strength of an ocean and a poets emotion
you think that I should be crawling
should all ready be fallen
think you got me eating right out of your hand
yeah you think you're the man
let's get a grip, you're such a trip
your far out stories of fading glories
you've got connections, you're with the bank
yeah you think you're the man
you think you're lighting and thunder
you're the eighth natural wonder
got the strength of an ocean and a poets emotion
you think that I should be crawling
should all ready be fallen
think you got me eating right out of your hand
yeah you think you're the man
You broke me down, I've come around
so it's no wonder, you got my number
if you don't call I'll understand
cause you think you're the man.
you think you're lighting and thunder
you're the eighth natural wonder
got the strength of an ocean and a poets emotion
you think that I should be crawling
should all ready be fallen
think you got me eating right out of your hand
yeah you think you're the man
yeah you think you're the man
It'll be twelve months to the day
And an hour since you left me
Eleven months three weeks since I left town
First stop was tendin' bar down in Baton Rouge
Thinkin' I could get away from you
But you were on my mind every time I turned around
So then I went to Austin, Texas then Phoenix
Then I flew outta LAX
Lord I can't believe it's been a year
I keep leavin but you're still here
Touched down in Seattle waited tables in a coffee shop
I tried me hand down in Reno dealin' cards
I took a bus to try my luck on the East Coast
Spent some time week with my blues in Chicago
But eveywhere I went you were in my heart
I almost thought I lost you in D.C. but in Boston
Your memory caught up with me
For every mile I've cried a million tears
I keep leavin' but you're still here
So if you're wonderin' why I'm
Standing on your doorstep
It's cause you never left
I'm here to ask you for another chance
'Cause baby just can't froget
The way you used to hold me and show me
You loved me like you'd never ever let go of me
For me that feelin' never disappeared
Did you think I was gonna break down from you're good bye?
And I would be in a million pieces, having a good cry?
I know you thought when you said; "it's the end" I'd be on my knees
But baby think again.
Chorus
It's just the end of the hurt
Just the end of us
The end of what you been calling love
The end of the road and the end of the line
The end of you breaking this heart of mine
Baby for this girl
It ain't the end of the world
I'll be the first one to admit it's not gonna be easy
I have these memories and regrets that won't ever leave me, no
But I can't let them hold me back I'm moving on you can count on that
Chorus
You started this so baby go on
I'll try not to look back for long
You started this so baby go on
I'll try not to look back for long
Chorus x2
No no not the end of the world
In One Piece
(Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver)
It’ll be a mess in the morning
What’s left of us laying all around
The sun will come up and dry my tears
The candles will be all burned down
You’ll be on the road to somewhere
I’ll be fighting through the day
Oh, I know I have to let you go
But before you walk away
Just for tonight
Help me hold on
Keep me together
Cause I’m not that strong
If you have a heart
If you ever loved me
Stay with me please
So I don’t fall apart in one piece
Nobody needs to see this
We’ll keep it to ourselves
I hate to put you through this
I just need a little help
Just for tonight
Help me hold on
Keep me together
Cause I’m not that strong
If you have a heart
If you ever loved me
Stay with me please
Oh I don’t fall apart in one piece
I’ll break down, I’ll shatter,
Oh but I won’t try to change your mind
Just for tonight
Help me hold on
Keep me together
Cause I’m not that strong
If you have a heart
If you ever loved me
Stay with me please
I Should’ve Left Sooner
(Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Lori Mckenna/Liz Rose)
What have we done to each other
We didn’t start out like this
So from one heart to another
Is there something that I’ve missed
You were so desperately patient
All you could do was drag it out
Now all I see is time we wasted
And I know without a doubt
I should’ve left sooner
Cause you would’ve stayed forever
You and your stormy weather
I guess I could’ve spared us both the pain
I should’ve left sooner
You made it look like a surrender
So I am left with all the blame
Keep your pride and be the winner
But it eneded just the same
I should’ve left sooner
Cause you would’ve stayed forever
You and your stormy weather
I guess I could’ve spared us both the pain
I should’ve left sooner
All your rain and thunder
Almost took me under
I may have let go just in time
Cause you would’ve stayed forever
You and your stormy weather
I guess I could’ve spared us both the pain
I wish I could’ve spared us both the pain
I should’ve left sooner
Let me wipe the sadness from your eyes.
You now it breakes my heart, seeing you cry.
Give me a smiley to hold on to,
For all the nights I dream of you.
Say goodbye! You know I'll be with you in every moment
Keep our love love alight,
And then before you
Know it, I'll be by your side
Time will fly...
I know it seems so far away,
I know it sounds like so many days.
But just like tonight those days will end.
It wont be long, I'll see you again.
Say goodbye! You now I'll be with you in every moment
Keep our love love alight,
And then before you know it.
I'll be y your side
Time will fly...
Time will fly...
Say goodbye! You now I'll be with you in every moment
Keep our love love alight,
And then before you know it.
I'll be by your...
Say goodbye! you now I'll be with you in every moment
Keep our love love alight,
And then before you know it.
I'll be y your side
I'll be by your side.
Time will fly...
It's already December, it's Christmas everywhere
It's time to decorate the hearts and tend the trees, and I don't
I'm walking down the street, I see snowflakes fall
And Johnny in the corner, shopping places and cross me suns
I'm all your faithful peace and love for everyone
And mamas kissing Santa, but I don't care at all
Ooh, I meant to spend the season with some special one
I went to by him present just to find him gone
When we first met in January
Fell in love in February
March and April walking on air
Summer lasted till September
He said goodbye in November
Here's another Christmas on my on
Christmas on my own
Every corner there's a Santa he's really come to town
Like he use to in the good old days but this town around
The sacks a little lighter, but there's nothing there for me
I here the Christmas carols, the silver jingle bells
Another an noble kiss and I use to love that smell
For me there be no jester, just a turkey and a tree
Ooh, I meant to spend the season with some special one
I went to by him present just to find him gone
When we first met in January
Fell in love in February
March and April walking on air
Summer lasted till September
He said goodbye in November
Here's another Christmas on my on
Christmas on my own
And I wrap my coat around me as the snow is flashing all-around my knees
And I which a merry Christmas, to the shinny people that I met on 42 street
When we first met in January
Fell in love in February
March and April walking on air
Summer lasted till September
He said goodbye in November
Here's another Christmas on my on
Christmas on my own
On my own
(Here's another Christmas on my own)
Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver
Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
Ask me on a sunday
if I wanna go take a little drive
You know I want it honey
but I don't know if I'd make it out alive
You got the heat of the devil
and the eyes of a hurricane
You'd take me all the way to heaven
all I got to do step on the train
It's a fast trip up and a long fall down
It's a short lived love makes a heart break sound
When it his the ground
Leaves a girl laying there just looking around
From a fast trip up and a long fall down
Sounds really good when I hear it rolling of your lips
I but a guy like you can change as fast as a quarter flips
You might be unforgettable the kind of ride I'll never forget
But baby you could only be somebody that I'll always regret
It's a fast trip up and a long fall down
It's a short lived love makes a heart break sound
When it his the ground
Leaves a girl laying there just looking a round
From a fast trip up and a long fall down
t's a fast trip up and a long fall down
It's a short lived love makes a heart break sound
When it his the ground
It's a fast trip up and a long fall down
It's a short lived love makes a heart break sound
When it his the ground
Leaves a girl laying there just looking around
From a fast trip up and a long fall down
t's a fast trip up baby
and a long fall down
t's a fast trip up and a long fall down
Thing called love
(Jill Johnson' Style)
Don't have to humble yourself to me,
I ain't your judge or your king
Baby, you know I ain't no Queen of Sheba
We may not even have our dignity,
this could be just a powerful thing
Baby we can choose you know we ain't no amoeba
Are you ready for the thing called love
Don't come from me and you,
it comes from up above
I ain't no porcupine,
take off your kid gloves
Are you ready for the thing called love
I ain't some icon carved out of soap
Sent here to clean up your reputation
Baby, you know you ain't no Prince Charming
We can live in fear or act out of hope
For some kind of peaceful situation
Baby, how come the cry of love is so alarming
Are you ready for the thing called love
Don't come from me and you,
it comes from up above
I ain't no porcupine,
take off your kid gloves
Are you ready for the thing called love
Ugly ducklings don't turn into swans
And glide off down the lake
Whether your sunglasses are off or on
You only see the world you make
Are you ready for the thing called love
Don't come from me and you,
it comes from up above
I ain't no porcupine,
take off your kid gloves
Are you ready for it
Are you ready for the thing called love
Don't come from me and you,
it comes from up above
I ain't no porcupine,
take off your kid gloves
Are you ready for it
Are you ready
Are you ready for it
Yes I'm ready
Ready for love
Ready for love
He said baby it's time for you and me
To go live our own lives not waiting you see
I'm on my way now this time is for real...
So he packed all his things and I begged on my knees
I said baby I think we were meant to be
Isn't it strange how cheap the words can be?
... You'll get over it
Don't waste you time
A love like ours can't be
Too hard to find...
What if my love for you is even stronger?
What if my heart will never forget?
What if my dreams won't let you go away?
Since the day we met
Since the day we met
How could I forget?
Days may go and weeks go by
With endless clouds and sleepless nights
But not one minute without you in my mind
... You'll get over it
Don't waste you time
A love like ours can't be
Too hard to find...
What if my love...
He's the kind of a man that is so hard to find
In this cold, cold world
With a heart full of love and a sensitive mind
He's my kind of man
Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Stephony Smith
Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
Love is like white lightning
feels so good at first
one kiss won't quench your thirst
the more you drink the more it hurts
love is like white lighting
Love is like white lightning
it burns you inside out
you fall you crawl your head'll spin
you won't remember where you've been
love is like white lightning
White lightning
straight to the heart
hits every part of you
makes you forget who you are
take it too far no telling what you'll do
Love is like white lightning
it looks so innocent
It sneaks up on you
then comes on strong
You think you're here and then you're gone
Love is like white lightning, yeah
White lightning
straight to the heart
hits every part of you
makes you forget who you are take it too far
no telling what you'll do
White lightning
straight to the heart
hits every part of you
makes you forget who you are
take it too far no telling what you'll do
White lightning
straight to the heart
hits every part of you
makes you forget who you are take it too far
I opened up the door
Thinking you'd walk right in
You've been begging so good
You finally got under my skin
You got a little cool
The moment you knew you had me
Isn't it a shame
You're messing with the flame
With your crazy little game
Of wait and see
Oh oh oh oh,
Yeah go ahead take your sweet time
That's fine
Oh oh oh oh
In case you haven't heard
A woman can change her mind
You gave me just enough
Of that little taste of love
And you hooked me
You wanted me to fall
Now you could have it all
And we should be
Everything you said
Got stirrin' in my head and my heart
I told you how I feel
But baby here's the deal
You might be pushing it
A little too far
Oh oh oh oh,
Yeah go ahead take your sweet time
That's fine
Oh oh oh oh
In case you haven't heard
A woman can change her mind
Yeah go ahead take your sweet time
That's fine
Oh oh oh oh
In case you haven't heard
A woman can change her mind
Don't you know how a woman can be
Changes like the weather it's that easy
Oh oh oh oh,
Yeah go ahead take your sweet time
That's fine
Oh oh oh oh
In case you haven't heard
A woman can change her mind
Oh oh oh oh,
Yeah go ahead take your sweet time
That's fine
Oh oh oh oh
In case you haven't heard
You've got a mind, I'm sure you do,
A great body and the money to
You've told me twice, that you're a star
You've got your own show, now in this bar
You need a woman, and I'm the deal
I can't believe what you say is for real
I'm truly tired now
I'm falling asleep when you say that you are
God's gift to a woman like me
God's gift to the planet earth but
God's gift to me would be
If you drive away and just keep going
You really think that you're the one
I think there's nothing new under the sun
I can't believe that you exist
You're all the things that I never missed
I'm truly tired now
You think you've got it baby
You've got it figured out, and
You're quite certain you can
See things clear
You only scratch the surface
So sure it's quite enough, you
Don't ever dig, don't ever get
Too near
But things that you see ain't
Always what they seem to be
And things that you hear ain't always true
*Chorus*
So you think you know
Just who I am
Well hello, I'm afraid
You know nothing man
Cause yet you've only read
The first few lines
In the book about the story
Of the secrets in my life
You need to keep it simple
Not make a muddle of it
There's just one truth in
Your conception of life
You think at takes a quick glance
And then you know it all, cause
You think the world is based on stereotypes
But things that you see ain't
Always what they seem to be
And things that you hear ain't always true
*Chorus*
It's clear as crystal
That's what you say
You need no guidance
In any way
Well it may get to you
Some day
It's too late to be drinkin'
It's too dark to be sad
It's too dangerous to be thinking of us
And the love we can never get back
Sometimes when I'm lonely I get carried away
So I'm drinking, I'm thinkin'
I'm gonna be sad anyway
The walls are closing in
Breathe in and count to ten
I did all I could
But it did no good
Lights went out and he got in
It's too late to be drinkin'
It's too dark to be sad
It's too dangerous to be thinking of us
And the love we can never get back
Sometimes when I'm lonely I get carried away
So I'm drinking, I'm thinkin'
I'm gonna be sad anyway
Tomorrow I'll regret
But there's no daylight yet
So I'll hold on time
To this hopeless nights
And pray that I'll forget
It's too late to be drinkin'
It's too dark to be sad
It's too dangerous to be thinking of us
And the love we can never get back
Sometimes when I'm lonely I get carried away
So I'm drinking, I'm thinkin'
I'm gonna be sad anyway
It's too late to be drinkin'
It's too dark to be sad
It's too dangerous to be thinking of us
And the love we can never get back
Sometimes when I'm lonely I get carried away
So I'm drinking, I'm thinkin'
I'm gonna be sad anyway
I'm drinking, I'm thinkin'
I'm gonna be sad anyway
While You’re Sleeping
(Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver)
While you’re sleeping
I go places you would not imagine
I dream wide awake dreams that might not ever happen
But I dream ‘em anyway
It takes the quiet
To take me to those places
But I hide it
Oh if you ask me to confess
I just deny it
When I lie awake at night before I close my eyes
I go back to the time with the roses and wine
When it was just us, you were all mine
No night and no day, no world in the way
And a passionate kiss was a place we’d stay
Then the baby cries and it’s back to life
From the secrets that I’m keeping
While you’re sleeping
I could tell you
How alone I feel
And even if you get it
There’s no time to fix it
And I’d regret I said it
So I keep it to myself
These dreams that I don’t tell
I go back to the time with the roses and wine
When it was just us, you were all mine
No night and no day, no world in the way
And a passionate kiss was a place we’d stay
Then the baby cries and it’s back to life
From the secrets that I’m keeping
While you’re sleeping
While you’re sleeping
You call it running way
But if that’s what it takes
To be here when you wake up
I go back to the time with the roses and wine
When it was just us, you were all mine
No night and no day, no world in the way
And a passionate kiss was a place we’d stay
Then the baby cries and it’s back to life
From the secrets that I’m keeping
While you’re sleeping
While you’re sleeping
time to let go
Time to move on now
This is my last goodbye
The last time I'll cry for you
When you wake up
There be tears on my pillow
Each with a history to tell
Like a whispering shell
It's to late
When I am far and gone
Will you be missing me
Will you regard what you said?
When it's to late
When you are on your own
Will you me missing me?
Will you me missing me?
Rivers will run
Bridges will burn behind
I'm on my why to find the love
that will keep my world on a track
its to many tears
that's dry on this pillow
each with a history to tell
like a whispering shell
it's to late
When I am far and gone
Will you be missing me
Will you regard what you said?
When it's to late
When you are on your own
Will you me missing me?
Will you me missing me?
Time to let go
Time to move on mow
This is my last goodbye
My last goodbye
Music & Lyrics: Jill Johnson/Liz Rose/Lisa Carver/Lori McKenna
Album: A Woman Can Change Her Mind
She used to be a brunet but he told her liked blonds
He said that he liked high heels, so she always had 'em on
She's sweet as honey suckle, an angel from the south
If you knew her then, you wouldn't recognize her now
Oh oh oh
she let the sun go out
let him walk right in and take the words right out her mouth
Oh oh oh
she let her dreams lay down where they use to stand
oh oh over a man
She moved out of her hometown, he called it a dead end
He told her love was never needed in anyone but him
her heart is mostly quiet until he makes her cry
shel tells herself she's happy, but it has to be a lie
Oh oh oh
she let the sun go out
let him walk right in and take the words right out her mouth
Oh oh oh
she let her dreams lay down where they use to stand
oh oh over a man
Did everything he could to make her small
blinded her with love that wasn't love at all
Oh oh oh
she let the sun go out
let him walk right in and take the words right out her mouth
Oh oh oh
she let her dreams lay down where they use to stand
oh oh over a man
Oh oh oh
she let the sun go out
let him walk right in and take the words right out her mouth
Oh oh oh
she let her dreams lay down where they use to stand
oh oh over a man
Someday she'll wake up
and she's had enough
when he's taking all she can stand
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O sisters let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
O sisters let's go down,
Down in the river to pray.
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O brothers let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
Come on brothers let's go down,
Down in the river to pray.
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O fathers let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
O fathers let's go down,
Down in the river to pray.
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O mothers let's go down,
Come on down, don't you want to go down,
Come on mothers, let's go down,
Down in the river to pray.
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown
Good Lord, show me the way!
O sinners let's go down,
Let's go down, come on down,
O sinners let's go down,
Down in the river to pray.
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown
