The day after the Battle for Aberrica, I was asked to go out and film some street clips that would go in a little montage for the Berrics. Obviously I was super stoked about that so we went out and got some street clips (coming soon in my new edit) but most of them were already leaked when the edit came out on the Berrics, so I figured I might as well dedicate a video to the Wallenberg kickflip that I did because I'm super stoked on it. I have insane respect for all the skaters that have thrown down insane tricks down Wallenberg. Chris Cole with the tre flip, Forrest Edwards with a switch flip, and probably the most insane - DJ Gaudin with a switch backside flip. That's only naming a few of the ridiculous tricks that have gone down.
I didn't have any ramp or roll in to get speed, so I just had to sprint as fast as I could could get enough speed to even barely clip it. In one of the falls, you could see that I clipped the last stair with my ankle, and that didn't feel great...I think in all, it took me about 20-30 tries, and half of them were with a broken wrist. After a weird kick out, I landed wrong on my wrist and got a pretty minor break (I didn't know it was broken at the time so I kept skating) and then after a few more tries with a broken wrist, I ended up dislocating a different bone in my wrist/hand. It's been almost a month and my wrist it still super messed up.
All in all, it was definitely worth the pain. I've been wanting to get a trick down Wallenberg for a while and being able to roll away was probably one of the best feelings in the world. Instagram: @garrettginner

I've been getting comments on all my videos asking video why I keep wearing a wrist brace, so I finally made a video telling you exactly how it happened.
So a year ago, I was filming for the Berrics, and we were in San Fransico filming for the Battle for Aberrica B roll footage. We decided to go check out Wallenberg because it's such a legendary and iconic skate spot.
We originally went there just to look at it, I pretty much told them that I wasn't going to skate it because my wrist was already hurt. But, when it came to actually looking at the spot, I told them to set up their cameras and I was gonna ollie it. After the ollie, I decided that I'd try kickflip a few tries and see how it went, and after that, the rest is history. I couldn't walk away until I landed it.

The day after the Battle for Aberrica, I was asked to go out and film some street clips that would go in a little montage for the Berrics. Obviously I was super stoked about that so we went out and got some street clips (coming soon in my new edit) but most of them were already leaked when the edit came out on the Berrics, so I figured I might as well dedicate a video to the Wallenberg kickflip that I did because I'm super stoked on it. I have insane respect for all the skaters that have thrown down insane tricks down Wallenberg. Chris Cole with the tre flip, Forrest Edwards with a switch flip, and probably the most insane - DJ Gaudin with a switch backside flip. That's only naming a few of the ridiculous tricks that have gone down.
I didn't have any ramp or roll in to get speed, so I just had to sprint as fast as I could could get enough speed to even barely clip it. In one of the falls, you could see that I clipped the last stair with my ankle, and that didn't feel great...I think in all, it took me about 20-30 tries, and half of them were with a broken wrist. After a weird kick out, I landed wrong on my wrist and got a pretty minor break (I didn't know it was broken at the time so I kept skating) and then after a few more tries with a broken wrist, I ended up dislocating a different bone in my wrist/hand. It's been almost a month and my wrist it still super messed up.
All in all, it was definitely worth the pain. I've been wanting to get a trick down Wallenberg for a while and being able to roll away was probably one of the best feelings in the world. Instagram: @garrettginner

I've been getting comments on all my videos asking video why I keep wearing a wrist brace, so I finally made a video telling you exactly how it happened.
So a year ago, I was filming for the Berrics, and we were in San Fransico filming for the Battle for Aberrica B roll footage. We decided to go check out Wallenberg because it's such a legendary and iconic skate spot.
We originally went there just to look at it, I pretty much told them that I wasn't going to skate it because my wrist was already hurt. But, when it came to actually looking at the spot, I told them to set up their cameras and I was gonna ollie it. After the ollie, I decided that I'd try kickflip a few tries and see how it went, and after that, the rest is history. I couldn't walk away until I landed it.
