Jumpstyle

Jumpstyle is an electronic dance style and music genre popular in Eastern Europe, as well as certain parts of Australia and the United States.

Jumpstyling is often referred to as "Jumpen": a combination of the English word 'Jump' and the Dutch & German suffix '-en' (meaning "to jump" or "jumping").

It originated in 1997 in Belgium but gathered bigger popularity in their neighboring country the Netherlands in the 2000s.

History

Jumpstyle, originally known simply as jump, was created in Belgium and started in 1997. It was a short-lived small genre that didn't gain popularity in its original form. However, it came back to the public during the turn of the century and fandom began increasing throughout Europe after undergoing significant changes in Germany in early 2003.

After acquiring its current name, jumpstyle was reintroduced in Europe and in 2005 saw artists and groups producing and releasing its music.

The first key stage of its popularity came between 2007 and 2008 due to the success of music videos such as Scooter's 'The Question Is What Is The Question' and 'Jumping all over the World' which led to their 13th studio album reaching #1 in the UK charts.

Major

Major is a military rank of commissioned officer, with corresponding ranks existing in many military forces. When used unhyphenated, in conjunction with no other indicators, the rank is just senior to that of an army captain and right below the rank of lieutenant colonel. It is considered the most junior of the field officer ranks.

Majors are typically assigned as specialized executive or operations officers for battalion-sized units of 300 to 1,200 soldiers. In some militaries, notably France and Ireland, the rank of major is referred to as commandant, while in others it is known as captain-major. It is also used in some police forces and other paramilitary rank structures, such as the New York State Police, New Jersey State Police and several others. As a police rank, Major roughly corresponds to the UK rank of Superintendent.

When used in hyphenated or combined fashion, the term can also imply seniority at other levels of rank, including general-major or major general, denoting a mid-level general officer, and sergeant major, denoting the most senior NCO of a military unit. The term Major can also be used with a hyphen to denote the leader of a military band such as in pipe-major or drum-major.

Ene River

The Ene River (Spanish: Río Ene) is a Peruvian river on the eastern slopes of the South American Andes.

Geography

The Ene is formed at 12°15′45″S 73°58′30″W / 12.26250°S 73.97500°W / -12.26250; -73.97500 at the confluence of the Mantaro River and the Apurímac River, circa 400 m above sea level, where the three Peruvian Regions Junín, Cusco, and Ayacucho meet.

The river flows in a northwesterly direction at a total length of 180.6 km.

The Ene River is part of the headwaters of the Amazon River whose origin is at the Mismi south of Cuzco where it first becomes Apurímac River, then the Ene River and Tambo River before its waters meet the Ucayali River which later forms the Amazon.

At 11°09′39″S 74°14′48″W / 11.16083°S 74.24667°W / -11.16083; -74.24667 the Ene River joins the Perené River at the town Puerto Prado, 295 m above sea level, and is called the Tambo from then on.

Threats

The proposed 2,200-megawatt Pakitzapango hydroelectric dam would flood much of the Ene River valley.

Manny Marc

Manny Marc (born 1980 in Tempelhof, Berlin, Germany as Marc Schneider), is a German rapper and DJ. Manny Marc is the DJ of the South Berlin rap group Bass Crew, which consists of Frauenarzt, MC Basstard, and MC Bogy. In 1997 he founded the street gang Berlin Crime, with Frauenarzt, and in 1998 the independent label Bassboxxx. In 2006 he founded with Frauenarzt the Ghetto Musik label.
