Mohit Suri

Mohit Suri, (born 1981) is an Indian film director, most known for his films, Kalyug (2005), Awarapan (2007) and Aashiqui 2 (2013). He has directed 3 quasi-sequels Raaz - The Mystery Continues (2009), Murder 2 (2011) and Aashiqui 2 (2013), not having directed the first installments. And all three were very much appreciated for its direction and were success at box office too.

Early life

Suri was born and brought up in Mumbai. His mother was an air hostess, and his father worked for Dunlop in Chennai. Mohit's mother is the younger sister of noted film makers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. Suri's cousins are Emraan Hashmi, Alia Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt. Suri's sister Smiley Suri is an actress, and has appeared in films like Kalyug and Crook. Before venturing into film direction, Mohit worked as an office assistant for T-Series, and as an assistant director to Vikram Bhatt.

Career

He started his career as an assistant director, and made his debut as a director with the 2005 film Zeher which was a moderate success. He followed it up with Kalyug, which was both a critical and commercial success. His third film Woh Lamhe (2006) did well and received critical acclaim.

Half Girlfriend

Half Girlfriend is an Indian English coming of age, young adult romance novel by Indian author Chetan Bhagat. The novel, set in rural Bihar, New Delhi, Patna, and New York, is the story of a Bihari Boy in quest of winning over the girl he loves. This is Bhagat's sixth novel which was released on 1 October 2014 by Rupa Publications. The novel has also been published in Hindi and Gujarati versions as well. A Bollywood film adaptation is planned.

Dedicated to "non English-types", the book divulges the sentiments and linguistic struggles of a backward rural Bhojpuri-laced Hindi speaking boy from Bihar as he enrolls himself at the prestigious English-medium St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi, and falls in love with a "high class English speaking rich Delhi girl". The girl does not admit the relationship but agrees to be his "half girlfriend". Chetan Bhagat commented, "Half-Girlfriend, to me, is a unique Indian phenomenon, where boys and girls are not clear about their relationship status with each other. A boy may think he is more than friends with the girl, but the girl is still not his girlfriend. Hence, I thought we needed a term like 'Half girlfriend'. Because, in India, that is what most men get."

Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor (pronounced [ɐrˈɟun kəˈpuːr]; born 26 June 1985) is an Indian actor who appears in Bollywood films. He is the son of film producers Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor. Kapoor was born on 26 June 1985 in Mumbai, Maharashtra to the Hindi film producer, Boney Kapoor and the entrepreneur Mona Shourie Kapoor. He is the grandson of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor. He is the nephew of actors Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and producer Sandeep Marwah, and the first-cousin of actress Sonam Kapoor, actor Mohit Marwah and producer Rhea Kapoor. He has a sister Anshula Kapoor. The actress Sridevi is his stepmother. When asked in an interview about his father's second marriage, Kapoor said: "When we were kids, it was difficult. But what can you do? How long will you complain? You have to accept what is, take it on your chin, and move on."

Emraan Hashmi (pronounced [ɪmraːn ˈɦaːʃmiː]; born Emraan Anwar Hashmi; 24 March 1979) is an Indian film actor who appears in Hindi language films. Hashmi has received three Filmfare Award nominations, and has established himself as a leading contemporary actor of Hindi cinema.

Before starting his career as an actor, Hashmi worked as an assistant director for the 2002 horror film Raaz. The following year, he made his acting debut with a leading role in the crime thriller Footpath and followed it with the erotic thriller Murder (2004), which emerged as a box office success.
