Talking about
Karishma Fatiha's incident
Karishma Fatiha: I had a haircut today.
The one that you call "
Chinese Bangs?"
Yes, that one. I was having a good time,
and just before I could have the first sip
of my coffee, I got informed I have a mid-term
exam tomorrow. 6 big chapters, 1 really tough-going
faculty and a 0 preparation to start my day with.
I was hopping from one puddle over the other one in
the torrential rain with an umbrella in one hand and
a bag in the other in the afternoon. I was already in
a hurry; I had a mid today too. The university was almost
20 feet away just when I heard a car honking behind me.
I looked behind to stop and make way for it just when the window slowly opened.
The car came across closer to me, and the driver handed out a chit to me and asked, "Skewsss me, apu.
Address ta bole dite parben?" He seemed just like any other guy.
Hey, my friend,
Muzdalifah thinks I'm a rude person. But I'm not,
cause even though I had only 10 minutes to go for my exam to start, I,
wholeheartedly, took that chit from him and read the address.
Little did I
know that the driver was the last entry of my hectic day to piss me off; the fuel
to make me walk much faster to my university later. In deep, grave, fierce frustration.
When I came to Bashundhara, I had people tell me that it's a safe place, a "decent" place.
No, it's not anymore.
It's not been safe anymore lately.
The moment I was about to tell him where the address was,
the moment I opened my mouth to talk- not even before a word came out of my mouth, the driver threw out his hand in
an attempt to touch my breasts. Yes, breasts as in "boobs" in informal language and "dudu" in baby language.
Yes, right,
DON'T YOU
PEOPLE SAY I
SPEAK OUT
LOUDER THAN MOST OTHER GIRLS THAT YOU
KNOW?
Then listen to me now again-
YES, YOU HEARD ME CORRECT- RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD,
IN BETWEEN ALL THE
MUD AND
DIRT, DURING THE TORRENTIAL RAIN- I was almost molested.
Or maybe, just simply, molested.
Thank God for my great reflex sensory,
I moved back before he could lay hands on my breasts properly. Surprisingly,
he aimed his hands again at my breasts. I shouted on the top of my lungs,
"Ei shala shuyor!"
Goodness, you should've seen the ridiculous audacity
on his face to look back at me and express anger. As if he were a monk,
and I committed some grave sin by abusing his sanctity.
Okay,
I need you to know I wasn't upset at all. I was frustrated.
Why-
I'll tell you in a moment. But before that I need you to
realize the fact that- that driver had been roaming around with
a chit for God-knows-how-long in search of a lonely girl/woman
on an empty street looking for an opportunity
... JUST SO THAT HE
COULD
REACH OUT AND
TOUCH SOMEONE'S BOOBS. I mean, IS THAT HOW
