Setúbal
Setúbal (Portuguese pronunciation: [sɨˈtuβaɫ] or [sɨˈtuβɐɫ]) is a city and a municipality in Portugal. The population in 2014 was 118,166, in an area of 230.33 km2 (88.9 sq mi) km². The city proper had 89,303 inhabitants in 2001.
In the times of Al-Andalus the city was known as Shetúbar (Andalusian Arabic: شَطُوبَر [ʃeˈtˤuːbɑr]). In the 19th century, the port was called St. Ubes in English and St Yves in French.
The municipal holiday is September 15, which marks the date in the year 1860 on which King Pedro V of Portugal officially recognised Setúbal as a city.

The city of Setúbal is located on the northern bank of the Sado River estuary, approximately 48 kilometres (30 miles) south of Portugal's capital, Lisbon. It is also the seat of the Setúbal District.

The District of Setúbal (Portuguese pronunciation: [sɨˈtuβaɫ] or [sɨˈtuβɐɫ], Portuguese: Distrito de Setúbal) is located in the south-west of Portugal, the District Capital is the city of Setúbal.
Geography
It is delimited by Lisbon District and Santarém District on the north, Évora District on the east, Beja District on the south and the Atlantic Ocean on the west. It has an area of 5064 km², and a population of 789,459 inhabitants. It was split from Lisbon District in 1926, being the only Portuguese district created after 1835.

It is composed of 13 municipalities, spread over two sub regions:

Setúbal DOC
Moscatel de Setúbal is a Portuguese wine produced around the Setúbal Municipality on the Península de Setúbal. The region is known primarily for its fortified Muscat wines known as Moscatel de Setúbal. The style was believed to have been invented by José Maria da Fonseca, the founder of José Maria da Fonseca, the oldest table wine company in Portugal dating back to 1834. J.M. Fonseca company still holds a quasi-monopoly control over the production of Moscatel de Setúbal today.
Wine styles
Similar to Port, Moscatel de Setúbal are wood aged until they are bottled. They can be made from grapes of a single vintage or in a "non-vintage" style as a blend of several vintages. The wines tend to be at their freshest and more fruit styles up to around 5–6 years of age where they have pronounced apricot notes. As they age, the wines get darker with more raisin, caramel and nutty aromas and flavors.
Grapes
The DOC regulations for Moscatel de Setúbal specify that the wines are to be composed primarily of Muscat of Alexandria or Moscatel Roxo. The blend can include up to 30% of Arinto, Boais, Diagalves, Fernao Pires, Malvasia, Olho de Lebre, Rabo de Ovelha, Roupeiro, Talia, Tamarez and Vital.

As origens do Castelo de Sesimbra remontam ao século IX, período da ocupação muçulmana do território. Com uma vocação eminentemente marítima, desde tempos imemoriais que a pesca foi uma das principais formas de subsistência dos seus habitantes.
Tudo isso ficou esquecido em palavras,.....a actual Sesimbra cresceu desmesuradamente com o turismo, tornando-se numa espécie de "Albufeira" (algarve). Mesmo assim deixou um núcleo com alguns traços urbanos populares (ruas estreitas, esplanadas improvisadas, peixe grelhado etc) comuns a toda o distrito de Setúbal, que lhe dão carisma e vontade de ser visitada.

This Park is center of city and both side main Road of Setubal and very good for visitors walking /Resting and Exploring the surrounding areas.

O Castelo de Sesimbra é o último dos castelos portugueses sobre o mar a manter a traça medieval.
As origens do Castelo de Sesimbra remontam ao século IX, período da ocupação muçulmana do território. Com uma vocação eminentemente marítima, desde tempos imemoriais que a pesca foi uma das principais formas de subsistência dos seus habitantes.
Tudo isso ficou esquecido em palavras,.....a actual Sesimbra cresceu desmesuradamente com o turismo, tornando-se numa espécie de "Albufeira" (algarve). Mesmo assim deixou um núcleo com alguns traços urbanos populares (ruas estreitas, esplanadas improvisadas, peixe grelhado etc) comuns a toda o distrito de Setúbal, que lhe dão carisma e vontade de ser visitada.

Setúbal
Setúbal (Portuguese pronunciation: [sɨˈtuβaɫ] or [sɨˈtuβɐɫ]) is a city and a municipality in Portugal. The population in 2014 was 118,166, in an area of 230.33 km2 (88.9 sq mi) km². The city proper had 89,303 inhabitants in 2001.
In the times of Al-Andalus the city was known as Shetúbar (Andalusian Arabic: شَطُوبَر [ʃeˈtˤuːbɑr]). In the 19th century, the port was called St. Ubes in English and St Yves in French.
The municipal holiday is September 15, which marks the date in the year 1860 on which King Pedro V of Portugal officially recognised Setúbal as a city.

The city of Setúbal is located on the northern bank of the Sado River estuary, approximately 48 kilometres (30 miles) south of Portugal's capital, Lisbon. It is also the seat of the Setúbal District.
